No more falling
Having fallen down more hardwood floor stairs than I care to share, I grew scared to rent apartments that werenât more than one-story. Yes, itâs that bad. These are thick, comfortable, durable, and stick well to the step. In the past, other mats stop being sticky randomly and slide under my foot while Iâm walking down. Itâs scary! They are also easy to vacuum without the matâs stickiness giving way and getting sucked up. They work and look great!

The time arrived when we felt it necessary to assist our aging (large) dog on our slick wooden stairs in our home.Friends told us carpet or material treads will work. Changing the look of our beautiful, wide stairs was a concern; but the safety and care for our beloved fur-baby was even more important.And we are picky about aesthetics!After researching several brands and such, we settled on the black treads from Seloom.What a PERFECT choice. Perfect!!!They were SO easy to apply to each step. Even our fair of leaving marks or damaging the steps was gone, because the construction and just right stickiness to the bottom of each tread was so well-thought-out by the manufacturer. When the tread is lifted for any kind of adjustment, it leaves zero trace! Someday they will be removed (hopefully years from now) and it will be easy and without damage.In the meantime, our large dog can maneuver up and down the staircase with extreme confidence again!! He was going so slow in recent months, as his progressing age and creaky joints made each attempt a cautious adeventure. A bit thinner than expected and “mostly” sticks to the wood floor/stairs
This option is the closest I could find to fit the width of my stairs (wood). Did not want a more permanent ‘sticky’ backing. These generally stick with the backing as is, but a couple of corners are coming up. Overall, these work for the purpose I need so hence the 4 of 5 stars – to keep from slipping on the stairs going up/down. This is not a permanent solution for me – these were intended to be a temporary option until I find a full-length stair runner.

Awesome purchase !
So happy I ordered these for my stairs !!! Wish I would have done it sooner! They are so easy to set up and they stay in place with no problems ! I ended up stretching them out by pulling at each end before laying them down to help lay them flat and adhere to the wood! You can remove them for cleaning with no problem, but I have not had to cause I just vacuum right over them as is !! They are especially perfect for our dog going up and down the stairs without scratching the hardwood! Love,, these,,, and highly recommend !

Thinner than Dollar store rug
I am absolutely mortified by how poor Amazon’s products are nowadays. These stair treads are thinner than contact liners for cabinets. The underside is a thin flimsy plastic wrap that is slippery and worse thany actual stairs. The only upside is the color and the lack of chemical smell. I wanted the bigger size 9X36 inch treads and there are not very many options so I thought to give these a try but they are a complete disappointment. I will order the commercial grade self cut ones I guess though I don’t look forward to the rubbery smell from them. These might be good for a few months at most if you are in an apartment but if you are looking for something that looks elegant and will last long, these are not it.

Good Value
For the price the treads are good. The major issue is that they are delivered folded and this is a huge issue. I installed these a few days ago and they are not adhering in the middle. I tried putting something very heavy on the tread to force them to stick in the middle but that didn’t work. I also tried a heat gun and the middle popped back up the next day.

Well, at least theyâre effective
TBH theyâre so ugly and I hate that I bought them but between old dogs and old ladies what choice did I have. They work for the intended purpose so thatâs a plus. They lay down flat and stick well. My dog and mother have turned what use to be a beautiful hardwood floor into a Bambi-esque death trap. I have 60â wide stairs and my dog was able to avoid walking on the narrower prettier ones so I had limited options in this 36â width. I wouldâve liked a lighter grey option for more color contrast. If youâre looking for functional, these will work. If youâre looking for beauty, keep scrolling.

The carpet treads are perfect choice for our needs.
The treads were extremely easy to apply to my steps. They are secure with no slippage with no harm to the wood surface. Our small dog can now easily go up and down the steps with confidence. Most important, the treads are safe for my husband and I to go down and up our steps without worry.

Super easy to stick on to steps. Just be careful to slowly start peeling the backing off, using the tab provided. A little harder to remove if you rip the tab off before you get it started, but still doable. Very lightweight and easy to work with. Installed on my elderly Auntâs painted wooden steps that she had previously slipped and fallen on.Installed 12 treads in about 45 mins., after washing the steps. Used a wallpaper roller to make sure they were stuck tight, but anything fairly heavy would do. My Aunt is just thrilled with the look, colour and the added confidence that she can go up and down the stairs without ever slipping again. Definitely recommend!
