Benefits & Use Cases
The Harfo Smart Door Lock excels in scenarios where convenience meets security. For families, it allows children or elderly relatives to enter independently using familiar methods like fingerprints or simple passcodes, reducing reliance on physical keys that can be lost or copied. Parents appreciate the ability to create temporary codes for babysitters or after-school helpers without sharing master keys.
Rental property owners and Airbnb hosts benefit significantly from remote access management. Issue time-limited passcodes to guests that expire automatically, monitor entry logs in real time, and revoke access instantly if needed—all without needing to meet in person for key exchanges. This reduces friction for renters and minimizes risk from lost keys or unauthorized duplication.
Homeowners concerned about security will value the anti-peep and private modes, which prevent others from observing passcode entry and allow temporary deactivation of the keypad during sensitive situations. The auto-lock function adds peace of mind by ensuring doors remain secured even if someone forgets to lock manually. Combined with the emergency USB and physical key options, there’s no scenario where you’re permanently locked out due to dead batteries or technical issues.
Since installation requires minimal tools and no structural modifications, the Harfo lock suits renters and homeowners alike. It’s especially valuable in older homes where adding electronic components might be impractical. The reversible handle further enhances versatility, fitting seamlessly onto existing door frames regardless of hinge orientation.

Great lock with lots of features and excellent app
This lock is great. It has lots of features and everything works well.Installation was simple. A template for hole is provided for hole cutouts if you are installing it on a new door.I bought it for my bedroom door, and the main requirement was that it have a good fingerprint reader, so that I could get in quickly without needing a key or to punch in a code. The reader works very well and very fast, I’d say less than half a second to open. One thing I love about it is that the reader is angled at roughly a 45 degree angle, which makes putting a finger on it (I typically use my thumb) more comfortable than most fingerprint locks, which have vertical fingerprint readers. That may seem like a little thing, but it just feels like a more natural and ergonomic position. You can set up numerical codes (I think between 4 and 10 digits), and they can be permanent, one time use, or time-based. So, for example, you can set up a code that works from 4pm on Friday until noon on Sunday, so it’s perfect for an AirBnB, houseguest, maid, etc. The code entry also worked flawlessly.Three keycards are included. You just put the keycard up against the keypad and the lock opens instantly. Honestly, I don’t really foresee using them – as great as they work, I’ll just use the fingerprint reader and avoid having to take anything out of my pocket. The backup keys provided in case of power failure (i.e., dead batteries) work fine. One minor nitpick is that the keyhole is hidden behind the face of the front handle, accessed by pushing on one end of the handle. It works fine, but my question is, will I remember 5 years from now (or whenever) how to access the keyhole? The TTLock app is really good too. That was a bit surprising to me, since a lot of apps for these kinds of things seem like afterthoughts. This one is intuitive and easy to use.If you have the gateway for the lock (purchased separately), it connects to the internet though your WiFi, and then you can even open the lock remotely. That’s a feature I’m not planning to purchase, but I can see how it could come in handy for some people. There are a couple of features that I had not read about that I like. One is that the time that the door stays unlocked after being opened is very customizable (default is 5 seconds) through the app. Another is that you can set a daily period of time during which the door will stay unlocked, and then lock automatically. So, for example, you could leave it unlocked at night so that if the kids get scared, they can come in without them having to knock and you having to go open the door. The 4 AA batteries are easily installed. You need to remove one screw to access the batteries.A couple of minor niggles: I got the lock in aged bronze, which looks great, but the latch bolt and strike plate are both silver – would be nice if they were also aged bronze to match. Also, one thing I could do without is the voice saying “unlocked” when the door is unlocked and “locked” when it automatically locks again. You can control the volume of the voice by a setting in the app, but can’t turn it off entirely. I think it’s unnecessary, as there is a light that briefly turns green when the lock unlocks, and you can hear the it unlock and lock, so to me the voice confirmation isn’t needed. But overall, this is as perfect an electronic lock as I’ve found. I can’t vouch for its durability, since I’ve only recently installed it, but I’m very happy with this purchase, and I’m thinking about buying one for my garage.

Worked for a few months then broke – Seller Sent Replacement
Initially the lock was great. It had a lot of functions with the app control, passcodes, and fingerprint option. It was convenient and worked for about 4 months but then it suddenly broke. Out of the blue the lock would say it was unlocking but would remain locked. I was locked out for a while and ended up having to break it to get back in.I have another electronic lock from a different brand thatâs lasted a year with no issue. The price point was similar so for a lock at this price to stop working after such a short time is unacceptable.Update: Seller reached out to me and sent me a replacement lock. So far the new lock is working fine.

Fantastic Lock
I purchased this lock for my mother. I have multiple Schlage locks at my house of varying types. I have been using the smart locks for at least the last 11 years. I was going to get my mother a Schlage Lock for her new house, but I noticed that she was having problems seeing the numbers to enter when she was at my house. I purchased this lock because it had the additional feature with the thumb print. This feature is so cool. It works well for an older person or even a young person. It has so many methods that you can use to open the door. This is an excellent product that I prefer over my current Schlage locks. The price was also excellent.

Good Concept, Poor Quality
We installed the new door handle, rearranged the locks since it needs the deadbolt moved, and it worked pretty well for two weeks. After two weeks the handle and electronics technically work and are responsive (says “unlocked” when print scans or tag, etc), but it doesn’t actually unlock the door anymore. So now we can exit our house but not enter. It’s been weeks of trying to adjust settings and reset and check everything but no luck so far. Likely have to purchase a replacement from a different company.

Little confusion around whether it is locked now or unlocked unless voice says so.. voice is good.
