Beautiful counter height stools
These stools are beautiful. They were easy to assemble and are very comfortable to sit in. It was important to us that they swivel. I was lucky to buy them on sale which makes them even better value for money. They are solid wood but not too heavy to slide across our floor. I was concerned about the foot plate being scratched so I coated them with satin polyurethane to preserve the paint. You can’t even tell that I applied the polyurethane. I plan to reapply it once a year.

Very nice chairs
These chairs are very nice and appear to be very sturdy. They are also quite comfortable. For the price they canât be beat. As others have reported, the assembly instructions leave a lot to be desired. Putting these chairs together is actually pretty simple so why the instructions are so deficient is a mind bender. For those who are going to put these together: 1) the first step with the ring with the protruding wooden strips- the protruding side is the side that the cushion is attached to. The flat side is where the swivel attaches to. 2) when attaching the legs to the ring with the swivel, the metal swivel is on the opposite side (âdownâ) of the side you are attaching the legs. Just remember that the metal gets attached to the flat side of the first ring. 3) rotate the swivel to reveal the holes where the screws go to attach the swivel to the flat side of the first ring. Thatâs it! Why the instructions couldnât provide these bits is a mystery. Took me a half an hour of staring at the instructions and the chair to figure this out. Also, consider getting a proper ball end Allen wrench (#4) to aid with setting the Allen screws. The provided wrench is tiny but useful in some of thr tight spaces. Hope this helps. The chairs are beautiful.

Comfy and true to color
They are sturdy, swivel nicely and are true to advertised color. They did take some time to put together, but as long as you have some patience, you are good. They are on the low side for a counter stool and I was worried they’d be too low, but they worked out fine. Be sure to measure everything before ordering; counter height and the distant you want from your thighs to the counter when you are sitting. They are easy to wipe clean.

Great Island Stools
I planned on waiting a while longer before sharing a review. I found these stools easy to put together. You do need to pay attention to the instructions. I read through them 3 times before beginning. Other reviews were correct about the Allen Wrench. Fortunately my husband had his handy. So far they seem solid. Very pleased with the color and finish. So far they seem to be great quality. I can only surmise that some that said they felt rickety or had screws fall out did not tighten the screws all the way. They have lock tite on them (blue area) that gives some resistance as your tightening the screws in. This is what it’s designed to do. You must ensure that you tightening the screws all the way in and yes, it takes a little effort. So far we are very pleased with our stools and would recommend them to anyone looking to purchase them. I feel they were a great value. If any issues develop I will update this review.

Very nicely designed chair!
I bought this counter chair as a house-warming gift for a friend. She is elderly, so I assembled it myself. I followed the drawing instructions with no problem and every piece and part was there and labelled. Yay! And everything lined up cleanly and the whole chair felt extremely stable when finished. Itâs a very handsome chair with a comfortable cushion. The fact that is swivels is also a real plus for her, as the space that it is in is rather snug. She can swivel the seat towards herself, get seated, and swivel around to the counter. No chair moving necessary!

Quality is just so soâ¦
As you can see from the pictures, the back on every chair is like this. I purchased five chairs and they all are wobbly meaning they donât sit level.. I wanted the chairs in a hurry to show my house. I will keep them, but the quality on all of the backs is very poor.. Iâve only had them for a week so I will give a report in a couple of months to see how they hold up.
