Benefits & Use Cases
The Sifely Smart Lock Wi-Fi Gateway transforms how you interact with your home’s security infrastructure. For homeowners with multiple entry points—like front doors, back entrances, or garage doors—the ability to centrally manage all locks from a single app eliminates the need for separate gateways or manual checks. This is especially valuable in family households where children, guests, or service providers may require time-limited access.
For frequent travelers or digital nomads, the G2 offers reassurance by allowing remote verification of lock status and instant code sharing with trusted contacts. Property managers overseeing rental units or short-term rentals will appreciate the capacity to issue and revoke access digitally, reducing reliance on physical keys and streamlining guest turnover.
Beyond convenience, the gateway enhances security through real-time visibility. You’ll always know if a door was left open, track patterns in entry behavior, and respond quickly to unexpected access events—even when you’re thousands of miles away. The inclusion of battery level tracking also prevents surprises like lockouts due to depleted power, further increasing system reliability.
While performance can vary based on building materials (such as thick walls or metal framing), maintaining a clear line-of-sight or keeping locks within 10 feet of the gateway helps ensure stable communication and minimizes latency. In most typical residential settings with standard Wi-Fi coverage, the G2 delivers dependable operation once properly installed.
Important Notes
Before purchasing, confirm that your existing or planned smart lock is manufactured by Sifely, samtechT, or Dermum, as cross-brand functionality is not supported. The G2 operates exclusively on 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi networks; it will not function with 5 GHz connections, so ensure your router supports this frequency band.
Some users have reported intermittent connectivity issues, including periods where the gateway appears offline or unexpectedly activates pairing mode. These experiences tend to correlate with network instability, weak signals, or interference from other devices. To minimize such occurrences, place the gateway in a central, elevated location near your locks and ensure consistent power delivery via a grounded outlet.
Package contents—including cables, mounting hardware, or documentation—are not specified in available product details, so verify included items upon delivery. Firmware version and update procedures are not described in source material, though routine app-based maintenance typically handles most software improvements automatically.

This thing is magic
Iâm no tech expert beyond the basics, so I cannot get my head around how this works. But it does, and does so really, really well. We installed this in a rental condo that is on ANOTHER CONTINENT. Setup was a snap (make sure your router supports 2.5 mhz) and now I can change lock codes for each new guest and monitor entrances by user. This gadget even shows you the power level of your door lockâs batteries. Is it witchcraft? No idea, but it is an amazing tool and way worth the price to upgrade the functionality of your Sifely digital lock. One note: keep in mind that, if it gets unplugged, the gateway will stop working. Recommend putting it somewhere thatâs unlikely to happen.

Additionally, the app sends instant notifications whenever the lock is used, giving me real-time updates on the status of my front door.Furthermore, the build quality and design of the Wi-Fi Gateway are excellent. This Works great but…
This remote connection hub was easy to set up and install. However, I’m NOT a big fan of the lock itself because it takes 5-10 tries for it to recognize your fingerprint. The other thing that I liked was that this unit could also be paired with a GEEKSMART lock… But it would not pair to both locks at the same time. I read somewhere that this could control more than 1 lock but maybe they have to be the same brand… Overall I would recommend this unit but I just wish I would have bought a different lock altogether.

Functions perfectly, But…
This thing functions perfectly. It’s exactly what I needed to combine with my Smart Lock, but the blue flashing light on it is the most annoying thing in the world. It’s in my bedroom, and it flashes like it’s going out of style. I had to stuff it in a cardboard box just so it wouldn’t keep me up at night. I really don’t think the light is necessary. Or maybe a solid green light on the back next to the charging port to show that it’s powered on. But the flashing is ridiculous. This product does work, but it’s really obnoxious if you’re going to have it in a bedroom.

Poor wifi connection, security issue, and very sluggish. 0 stars.
First problem: you make this thing discoverable by unplugging it and plugging it back in. There’s a security issue there. I could turn the power off and on to my house real quick and have a minute or so after that to be able to connect to this and have full control over unlocking my door from the outside without having ever connected to it before. There should be a hard reset button the actual device to achieve this result instead of just disconnecting power. Because of this (and it’s performance over the last 6 months) I’ve decided to not keep using this device. The connectivity of this device is off and on and I’m more likely to win a coin toss than to expect the remote unlock/lock functionality to actually work. The app is not good. It lags and sometimes there is 20 seconds between when I touch the screen and when it responds. I’ve built a few apps over the past decade and I know what it takes to actually design a user interface that is half decent. It should respond within 100ms of touching the screen (even if it’s just saying “loading…”). If I were building an app like this for just myself I might cut corners like they did, but since they cut corners on the app (which are relatively cheap to fix) I can’t imagine the corners they cut on the actual hardware as well.Devices sits about 30 feet from my main Eero router (I have 2 other routers in my mesh system as well). Very poor connection. My Liftmaster garage door is about 2x the distance from the router and it responds fine every time. Assuming the garage door isn’t just magic, I should be able to expect the area inside of the radius of the garage to be “within range” of the router… unless it has a bad antenna. This thing almost never works and then I’ll get a random push notification saying my door was unlocked. This is a little disconcerting when I’m working late at 3 AM and the whole house is dark. Plenty of times getting my gun and going to check things out. Glad I live in a small town where nothing happens. You get what you pay for. This thing occasionally works after the headache of setting it up. I wouldn’t buy it again though. The actual door lock I use this with (sold separately) is decent though but it’s unfortunate I haven’t got a good gateway to connect it to wifi.
