I’m impressed with how quick this reads the temp, much quicker than my old digital thermometer. A dedicated button switches from Celsius to Fahrenheit. The probe itself (the pointy end) is very fine so you won’t feel like you are making swiss cheese from thin cuts of meat. I really like the hold feature, just a quick push of the button and it’ll freeze the display to the current temp so you can pull the thermometer out and look at it. The alternative was inserting the thermometer and trying to move it just so you can see the temp while losing arm and knuckle hairs. Hold the HOLD button for 3 seconds and now you can see the latest min and max temps recorded. Super handy when it’s not easy to insert the probe from a visible position. Oh, this can also be calibrated! I’ve never had a fancy digital thermometer that can be re calibrated, but this one can! The manual talks through the simple steps. It comes pre-calibrated out of the box, so I don’t know if I’ll ever need to do this, but it is nice to know it is possible.

Easy to use
THis thermometer comes already calibrated and the one I received seems pretty close to accurate when I compare with my other ones. It registers temp pretty quickly and has a light to make it easy to see. The numbers are a decent size. The price is good. The value is good. It stores easily. The one thing I found a little annoying was that I need to make sure I hold the ON button for a few seconds to turn it on. I am just not used to that, but it is no big deal…just different for me. I would recommend it if you are looking for an easy to store, accurate themometer.

Useful tool at a reasonsable price
There are tons of digital thermometers on the market that work in a myriad of ways, but if you want a basic tool to give you near instant temperature readings of most any food or meat, then this Alpha Grillers digital food and meat thermometer is a superb choice. This device has a large easy to read back-lite display that will give you readings in either Centigrade or Fahrenheit. It will stabilize on the measured temperature in only several seconds and there is a âholdâ button so you can remove it to read it. I did the ice and boiling water tests and the thermometer appears to be quite accurate. The point on the probe is very sharp and should penetrate a fairly tough hunk of meat fairly easily. By the way, the sheath is actually long enough to protect the entire probe, unlike the picture on the Amazon web page. The bright red color invokes caution and is easy to find in the miscellaneous tool drawer. I think you will be as pleased as we are with this one.

This arrived quickly after ordering in its own box that was then packaged inside of a larger Amazon box. It did include a nice set of instructions. It is very easy to use. It is accurate for bread making right out of the box. I really appreciate the cover for the probe so that it doesn’t get bent up in your drawer. It is easy to store away and it is easy to use. I appreciate the hold function as well, allowing you to freeze the temperature as you pull the probe out of the bread or meat so you can still read an accurate internal temperature. Great thermometer.

A great quality meat thermometer that works as advertised. It comes in a nice little box, making it very giftable. It’s a sturdy, well made gadget that comes in a nice pen-like sleeve. The numbers on the screen are large and bold, and the screen lights up. Easy to use. Has the option to use Celsius or Fahrenheit. Even has a guide on the back side to help remember what temps are needed for beef, poultry, fish and pork. Also comes with a lifetime warranty! Highly recommend!!!!

I am thrilled to have this super accurate thermometer which is quick, easy to use and accurate. When I am baking bread with the need to have the water at a specific temperature to activate the yeast this will make the task of heating water to a specific temperature range. The directions are clear- press the on/off switch and use. So I did and it worked perfectly. I am looking forward to using it during the easter baking — I know my eager helpers – my grandchildren will want to be the one to make sure the water temperature is correct. Highly recommend

Fast and Accurate Right Out of the Box â Can Be Simply and Automatically Recalculated in Ice Water
This is the fastest food thermometer that I have tested in this reasonably inexpensive price range. I tried it right out of the box to see how well it is calibrated by the factory. It went from 70F degrees to 211.3F degrees in about two seconds in my accuracy test in boiling water. That is well within the 1F degree tolerance as stated on the box and I am very satisfied with that!Unusual for this price point is the ability to simply and automatically recalculate the piece by pressing the appropriate button and dunking the probe in a bath of ice water.My only nitpick is that the online ad states an accuracy of 0.5 degrees at the time of this writing which does not align with the 1F degree tolerance in the specs that come with the product. This is not worth a star subtraction, in my opinion, as the speed, accuracy out of the box, and recalibration feature solidly keeps this in the 5-star space.
