Unlike abrasive or visually intrusive alternatives, Tub Grip delivers a clear, finely textured finish that enhances grip without compromising aesthetics or comfort.
Suitable for a wide range of materials including fiberglass, acrylic, porcelain, ceramic tiles, concrete, synthetic flooring, metal ramps, wood, and boat decks, Tub Grip adapts to nearly any flat surface typically found in homes, gyms, spas, locker rooms, or recreational vessels. Its low-odor formula ensures safe indoor application, while the included roller applicator simplifies the process for confident, mess-free coverage. One bottle typically covers one standard-size bathtub or shower, making it an efficient choice for homeowners, caregivers, and facility managers seeking reliable slip resistance with minimal effort.

Benefits & Use Cases
Tub Grip addresses a critical safety concern in households and public spaces where moisture accumulation leads to slippery conditions. For seniors, individuals with balance issues, young children, or anyone prone to accidental slips, this coating offers peace of mind by creating stable footing in vulnerable areas like showers and tubs. The fine texture prevents the discomfort associated with rougher anti-slip treatments, ensuring the surface remains pleasant for daily use—even when walking barefoot.
Beyond home bathrooms, Tub Grip proves invaluable in commercial settings such as fitness centers, spas, pool areas, and marine environments like boat decks. Its ability to adhere to challenging substrates like metal and wood makes it a go-to solution for facility upgrades aimed at reducing liability and enhancing user safety. While particularly effective on non-porous surfaces like porcelain and acrylic, proper preparation—such as etching porcelain tubs—is essential for optimal bonding and longevity.
Users consistently highlight the simplicity of application thanks to the included roller and step-by-step instructions. Most customers report completing the project themselves within an hour, with results visible almost immediately after curing. Because Tub Grip doesn’t alter the visual identity of your existing fixtures, it’s a discreet yet powerful upgrade—no remodeling required.
Important Application Notes
- Porcelain Surfaces Require Etching: Before applying Tub Grip to porcelain tubs or tiles, the surface must be etched to create microscopic pores for proper adhesion. Failure to etch may result in poor bonding and premature wear.
- Ventilation Recommended: Though low odor, the product should be applied in a well-ventilated area. Open windows or use fans during and after application to ensure air circulation.
- Exact Coverage Varies: While one bottle generally covers a standard bathtub or shower, actual coverage depends on surface texture, porosity, and application thickness. Over-application is not advised—thin, even coats yield best results.
- Not Ideal for Highly Absorbent or Uneven Surfaces: For porous, cracked, or heavily textured materials, additional prep work may be necessary. Smooth, clean, and dry surfaces provide the ideal base.
- Complete Instructions Included: Each purchase comes with clear, illustrated guidance covering surface prep, mixing (if needed), rolling technique, drying times, and maintenance tips.

Amazing product; Easy to use.
As we all know, most new tubs come with a supposedly non slip bottom. But as soon as it gets soapy, it gets slippery. All the non slip products out there state that you can only use them on a smooth service. I’ve tried stick on items. Didn’t stick well. Tried the mats with suction cups. They don’t stick and they get slimy and gross underneath. So I found this and decided to try it.Cleaned my tub really well and dried it thoroughly. This literally took about 4 minutes to do. Shook the bottle, poured it out on the run floor and used the supplied roller brush to spread it around evenly. Let it dry over night, about 24 hours. This stuff is amazing. A little rough under feet, but kinda feels good. Best thing us even after using soap and shampoo it was not slippery at all! This is well worth the price and so easy to use.I am very happy with the results and feel very secure when showering.ð

Great so far/exactly what I was looking for…
I was curious as to how it would really work and how course the texture really is, since I read many different reviews about it. Here is my experience and opinion…. I will begin by saying I did an extremely thorough job of cleaning the tub prior to applying it and we used a second bathroom in order to give it a full 24 hours to dry before using it. This was applied to a standard-issue porcelain shower/tub. I despise and refuse to use those rubber mats (“old lady bathtub mats” as I call them) as they are just gross. I previously used the peel & stick strips, but to be effective you needed a lot of them. In fairness, I am reviewing the product only after 4 days of use. I will update this as time passes and I see longer-term results. But, at this point I am very impressed. It was easy to apply – many mentioned the difficulty of seeing where you’ve applied it as you’re painting it on. That is true due to its clear color – but I just used a drop light (a flash light would work too) held on an angle to view the wet areas as I was doing it. It dries clear – which I was happy about. In my opinion, the surface is not too gritty to the touch – I find it to be comfortable to stand on with just enough grit to do an effective job. I like how the application allows the entire tub floor to be evenly covered so there are no slick spots. I applied it over the entire bottom surface and slightly up the inside corners of the tub. When finished I had about 1/4 of the bottle left. As of now I am very pleased with the product. As for the price – it seems a bit high, but if I get a few years out of it I will be pleased. I’ll give it a few months and update this review accordingly.Update – August 2017: Product still effective after over a year of 2 adult showers per day – although the length of my wife’s showers should probably count as double :)NOTE: I purchased this item on Amazon for full price and have no affiliation to the seller. I try to write helpful, unbiased and insightful reviews because I also read reviews prior to making my own buying decisions. I notice many reviews lack helpful information, are not well written or give poor reviews based on not reading directions, inexperience or failing to read the product details prior to purchasing. Writing valuable reviews helps pay it forward.

Not happy
For almost $40 this product is not worth the money. I put it on and let it cure just like the directions said to do. I made sure everything was dry. After 2 showers, the product is coming off. I got this for my tub so my girlfriend did not fall. She took a shower and then I did 26 hours after application. It should have been well set. So it went from total coverage to partial. Not happy at with it coming off since its almost $40. It should have lasted way way longer.

This stuff does the trick, but the texture doesn’t last long
We bought a house and the shower was a death trap. I am not joking. It was so slick if there was any kind of water on it that you might as well have put down oil. The surface was smooth with no protection and honestly I don’t know how the shower manufacturer hasn’t faced a lawsuit with how dangerous the thing is. After nearly losing my teeth on the shower handle from slipping one time I determined that was the last straw, I was going to install a new shower, but before that I decided to see what other options were out there.I tried the stick on traction things – they were junk and fell off after a couple weeks.I tried the suction cup matts, and those worked for a little while, but you had to keep them very clean and pick them up after every shower otherwise scum would get under and make them a skating rink as well. Then I found this stuff and it was a miracle. Application was super easy. I sanded the surface of the shower (probably should have done that in the beginning to give a little more traction). I cleaned it well, then squirted this bottle out and used the provided roller. The roller is small, but it actually does not take long to apply.I let it set up for 32 hours before using the shower. It had a sand light texture, but it wasn’t hard on the feet. It was also a miracle because I didn’t break my neck trying to get into the shower or while using it. I was so happy. I had read on another review that it wears out and they’d reapply. I figured I could do that once a year, sure.Well it only took a couple weeks before the sand texture was completely gone. I was fearing for when I would step in that shower and nearly die in the process. That day hasn’t come yet. The texture may be gone, but the floor still does not get slippery. So far, so good. Even if I had to reapply right now I would not mind, it is cheaper than installing a new shower, even if you DIY.So if you are suffering from a very slippery shower, I do recommend this stuff. It is easy to put down and it lasts a good while and it can save your life.

My wife slipped over in our corner shower cubicle and hurt herself quite badly we can’t use a matt as the cubicle is of the low profile type with a central quick drainage drain and it would overflow so I thought I would try this anti slip coating it was so easy to apply and looks fine it is difficult to wipe clean as it is a rough surface so I just rinse it with clean water from the shower and leave it to dry it does at first feel a bit strange on your feet but you soon get use to it and no more slipping the grip is just so good it makes you feel so safe its been some 6 months now since it was applied and so far no sign of any degradation but even if I had to reapply every year it would be worthwhile. From one very satisfied customer.

Works very well. Easy to apply. Makes my tub non slip. Was applied to a tub that had been resurfaced 2 weeks prior and did not effect the new paint job.
