Benefits & Use Cases
This screwdriver excels in applications where precision and accessibility are essential. Thanks to its slender stick design, it fits comfortably into narrow openings and tight corners that larger tools can’t reach—making it especially effective for assembling flat-pack furniture like IKEA shelving, installing ceiling fans, or repairing small electronic devices such as keyboards, remote controls, gaming consoles, or audio equipment. The included 34-piece bit set supports a wide array of fasteners, offering versatility across common household projects. Users value its straightforward operation, which lowers the learning curve for those new to powered tools. The integrated carrying case enhances portability and helps prevent loss of accessories, making it a convenient everyday tool for routine home maintenance and light repairs.
Customers frequently highlight the tool’s build quality, noting that it feels sturdy and well-constructed despite its affordable price point. Many appreciate how intuitive the controls are—requiring minimal setup and offering immediate responsiveness. The 4V motor provides sufficient torque for most standard screws found in household items, from cabinet hinges to appliance covers. Since it runs on a rechargeable lithium-ion battery, there’s no need to deal with disposable batteries or frequent replacements. Simply plug the included USB cable into any standard charging device when the battery runs low.
One notable feature is the convenience of USB charging. Unlike older models that require dedicated chargers, this screwdriver can be recharged using common devices like laptop USB ports, car chargers, or portable battery packs. This flexibility is especially useful for users who travel with their tools or want to avoid clutter from multiple chargers. Just unplug when fully charged to maintain battery health over time.
While the screwdriver performs reliably across a range of typical household tasks, it’s important to note that it’s intended primarily for light-duty applications. It’s not suited for heavy-duty construction work or driving large structural screws. However, for its intended use case—DIY assembly, minor repairs, and general upkeep—it offers strong value and dependable performance.
Important Notes
Customer feedback consistently praises the Amazon Basics by SKIL 4V Cordless Stick Screwdriver for its solid build quality, excellent value for money, and ease of use. Users describe the experience as “a pleasure to use” due to its smooth operation and responsive controls. That said, some have reported minor difficulties accessing the forward and reverse buttons due to their placement near the base of the tool. Placing your thumb directly behind the housing often resolves this issue, but it may take a moment to adjust your grip for optimal comfort.
To ensure longevity, always store the screwdriver and all included bits inside the provided carrying case when not in use. This protects the bits from damage and keeps them from getting lost or mixed up. The package includes only one battery and one USB charging cable—there is no fast charger or additional battery included. Depending on fulfillment location, packaging may differ slightly since this product was previously sold under the Denali brand before being rebranded by Amazon Basics. Despite these variations, core functionality and included accessories remain consistent across shipments.
For best results, fully charge the screwdriver before first use and periodically top off the battery if storing for extended periods. Avoid leaving it plugged in indefinitely once fully charged to preserve battery lifespan. With proper care, this tool can serve reliably for years of light-duty use around the house or workshop.

Good, powerful but takes getting use to.
I’m used to using a ratchet screwdriver; this is quite different. You have to turn it toward you to see the buttons to use. It’s very easy to hit the wrong button or accidentally press one. Nice to use putting together a piece of furniture where the hardware bag has 30 screws in it. Hopefully, I’ll get used to it. Good, well-built screwdriver. I like that it locks automatically, so you can manually finish tightening a screw. Battery life seems excellent.

Very good electric screwdriver.
This screwdriver and bit set is a great deal. Itâs loosened and tightened pretty much everything I could throw at it in a household environment.I did read a few reviews saying theirs wouldnât charge with different cables so I tried it out myself. What I found was that higher charging USB-C wall blocks would not charge it, any USB-A to USB – C cable with a standard 2.5 amp wall block charged the screwdriver just fine!Def get this and throw it in your tool drawer, or even your drawer in your kitchen!

Great Quality Product and Even Better Price
Still prefer the Milwaukee 2101 M4 over this, but the price point is just way too good on this. I understand this kit isn’t available anymore – too bad as I would have bought a few of them for gifts. This screwdriver performs well, not a fan of the delay it has (control lockout) after the motor gets overtorqued (2-second delay) but I understand that this is there to protect the tool from damage. Overall a great product that I personally use a lot and well worth the price.

Great product! Couldn’t be happier
I’m used to using a 12v Milwaukee Fuel Impact to do my screwdriving, but it was getting a little large for most of my needs so I thought, given this is manufactured by Skil (which I like for consumer-level uses and use Skil sets at home), I was immediately impressed by the torque this thing puts out. Just about enough for what I need, and definitely more powerful than the Milwaukee set to “1”. It can’t compete in speed or in torque if compared to the Milwaukee in “2”, much less in “3” and absolutely no contest in “hammer” mode; but for 99% of the fasteners I’ll screw in and screw out on a weekly basis, this is perfect. Not only would I recommend this product, and not only would I buy it again, but I just might. I’m getting so much joy out of it in my shop, might as well get one for home as well. Worth mentioning though, I paid just $21 for the “34 piece screwdriver”. I don’t need another case nor another set of bits so I may just get the 10pc kit.
