The Devo G1 video smart lock is a marvelous addition to my home security. Because it really IS a marvel! The integration of an FHD camera, fingerprint-enabled door lock, voice control and a video doorbell with two-way intercom function in a single device is incredible! The ability to SEE, TALK TO, and ALLOW ENTRY to a person while away from home is simple, thanks to the TUYA app on your smartphone. The clear real-time images from the built-in camera give me peace of mind knowing exactly who is at my door.The device is sleek, well-made, and attractive. It looks modern and sophisticated on your door and also looks solid, sturdy, and proficient. It allows you to remotely allow entry for emergencies or so your neighbor can feed the cats when you are working late. One feature I especially appreciate is the KEY that lets you in the old-fashioned way if the internet goes down while you are outside of the house!The smart lock offers several other methods to gain entry to my home. I can unlock the door with my fingerprint, a password, or by using the secure app on my smartphone. The voice control feature using Alexa or Google Assistant has proven to be extremely helpful when my hands are full. The large-capacity rechargeable battery means I don’t have to worry about constantly replacing batteries, and the IP65 waterproof rating ensures it will work perfectly in all weather conditions.Installing it was a tedious process but is doable by a DIY enthusiast with tools. The lock comes with a pre-cut template for matching to several types and thicknesses of doors as well as a detailed instruction book with excellent illustrations and notes for a perfect installation and setting up the TUYA app. Having said all of that, and after successfully installing and configuring this one, if I were going to install another one, I would hire a professional. Sometimes, the JOY of doing it yourself is lost in the conversation you have with yourself AS you are doing the job.The Tuya smartphone app makes remote control and distant monitoring simple. This smart lock has enhanced my home’s security, provides peace of mind for my wife and me and offers convenience and solutions for problems when we are away from home. If enhanced security, peace of mind, and the possibilities of voice control and active monitoring sound marvelous the DEVO G1 SMART LOCK is definitely worth considering.FIVE STARS! Lots of features packed into this lock
This lock is quite hefty, it is made out of some type of alloy metal that is heavier than my other smart locks that are mostly plastic. The install was relatively straight forward for a standard deadbolt replacement, no issues there and everything fits.The software looks almost exactly like the Smart Life app, I am going to test to see if I can just use that app so I don’t have to have separate apps for different locks. I tested many locks, I think the market is settling on TT Lock vs. Smart Life apps ecosystem, all the brands just use one or the other with a little name change here and there, but as long as they are in the same ecosystem, they should work. I will report back on that after I do a full test using the “Tuya Smart” app.The camera function is great, it actually covers the part of the porch that my Ring doorbell cannot see and the surveillance function allows me to check for Amazon packages left on the porch. The doorbell feature is a mixed bag for me, as people will just use the actual door bell and in the dark you can easily confuse the fingerprint scanner and the doorbell as they are right next to each other.The built-in wifi is a double edged sword, it is convenient and cheaper than having to deal with a hub, however, I am very concerned with the battery life with built-in wifi. My non-wifi smart door locks can last over a year with lithium AA batteries, I will report back on the battery life of this one with this in a year. This is not a big deal for primary residences, but can be problematic for rental or vacation units that’s far away.All in all, this is the lowest priced video + wifi smart lock on Amazon, so as long as it continues to work and the batteries can last up to a year for my use scenario, this is a great value at $140.

Horrible
Horrible set up. Instructions when followed do not lead to the right result. The list of items on TUYA app does not include the lock by name but by broad category. When I reset and tried to re-program adminstrator and fingerprint I got a message âillegal userâ. The lock closes automatically and once set, resetting will probably be a headache. Pass on this lock. The digital experience and product team did not communicate!

…I replaced a non WIFI enabled front door smart lock for the Devo G1 Video Smart Lock with Camera&Doorbell,6-in-1 Keyless Entry Door Lock with App Remote, Fingerprint ID, Auto Lock, Built-in Wi-Fi Smart Deadbolt for Front Door, Easy Install, Waterproof, BHMA Grade 3.The install of both the lock and app and the connection to the devise was straight forward and the QR code took me right to the app on google play store. I really like the door unlock and lock notifications as well as the standard smart lock options. The app is very nice as you can see the battery level on your phone while in the app. You can also unlock the door as you are walking up the approach. The video function is very but I can not figure out how to get the unit to notify me wen there is a video detection. Most likely user error!.If I had to nit-pick, there would be 1 thing I would do different. I would have used AA batteries instead of a rechargeable removeable pack. When that fails you are kind of S-O-L.Otherwise a nice lock. We are happy!
