Very Nice Lock, Great Features, Easy-ish install.
I love the ability to lock/unlock using my phone, keypad, or remotely when you install the Smart Module. The app is good! The installation required dremiling out my door a little so the strike plate wouldn’t hit when I closed my door (my old deadbolt was Shlage, this one needed a little bit more depth), but once I figured out the problem, it only took a few minutes to fix. The app is nice and provides videos, but the videos are for an older model, and a few of the images didn’t match, such as the mounting plate is different from the one seen in the video.

    Terrible
I bought this lock and installed it about 4 months ago. It worked fine at first, but about a month ago it just stopped working. It alerted me that it was at low battery, so I replaced them with brand new Duracell batteries. After I replaced them, it worked like normal again. No more than a week after that, it just stopped working and showed it at low battery again. I thought that was weird, so I took the batteries out and tested them all. They all showed full power. Additionally, the lock itself did not have anything visually wrong with it, such as acid buildup or anything like that. The Wi-Fi/Bluetooth features of the lock were also awful, with it only working half the time and having terrible integration with Alexa. For a $300 lock, this was unacceptable. I tried all the troubleshooting, but still nothing. Since this was not the first issue I’ve had with Yale products, I contacted them for a refund as I was not confident that a replacement lock wouldn’t do the same thing. They said that since I didn’t purchase it directly from them, they would not be able to issue a refund (I guarantee that they would’ve given some other excuse even if I purchased it directly from them). I will say, the lock itself is very cool and sleek looking, along with its features of it. But when it comes to the longevity of it, it’s clearly awful. Luckily, Amazon was able to help me out with a refund upon return. Additionally, for anyone looking for an alternative, I recommend the Schlage Encode Plus. It houses the same features (Apple Homekeys, touchpad, etc.) for around the same price as this one. The Wi-Fi capabilities are also far better on the Schlage than the Yale. I replaced the Yale one with the Schlage one and it is working much better.

    Works perfectly!
Love this lock. Got it connected to my apple HomeKit and it works amazing. It Auto Unlock’s when I get close to the door and auto locks when I leave. Super convenient when I’m walking the dogs. The apple key works flawlessly as well. Just tap your phone against the lock and it opens. While you can create guest codes, I wish you could create guest apple keys as well. Another bonus would be being able to assign an auto expire on the key.All in all , super happy with this lock. Hope it lasts a long time.

Works great, long battery life and easy to use
Been using for a month or so now and has been working with no flaws. This lock was easy to install, has been working excellent since installation, and looks great on our door. This works great for users of HomeKit.

    Lock reports wrong state
I bought this lock the first day it went on sale. Mine has one major hardware problem that others have reported. Unlocking with the Yale and Apple Home app and Apple Key on both Watch and iPhone all seem to work as expected. The problem is when I unlock manually to leave the house both apps report the lock as locked. Only when I forcefully turn the knob and hear the motor spin it will report correctly. It took two long calls to Yale customer service (who are generally not very polite or helpful) before they agreed to send me a replacement lock. The first time I called they sent me a replacement deadbolt which I knew wasn’t the problem but they wouldn’t take the time to understand my problem. The second time the rep was adamant that it was installation error and tried everything except listen to me to get me off the phone. It was only after I sent him a video and he showed to next level support that they agreed to replace.I don’t know about you, but when I spend ~$300 on a “smart” lock, I expect it to be smart and the company tech support to be able to efficiently diagnose the problem. In both cases a miserable fail.Hopefully the replacement lock works correctly.

It seems like the homekey functionality doesn’t work at all. Nothing happens when you tap the home key on the lock. I’ve reached out to support and they did the typical try a factory reset but as expected, that didn’t do anything. It seems like this product hasn’t been well developed / tested and you can find many other similar stories.

It’s a bit weird situation. Bought from Yale amazon shop, delivered to Lithuania, but can’t use it, because it requires Yale Access app, which is not available outside US and Canada.Seems like a common issue, too bad I didn’t check reviews.

Great lock. The only negative is the relatively short battery life if you get the WiFi option. Just make sure you download the Yale US app, as this lock was built for the US.
