$79.99
Product Overview
The SANUS 17″ TV Media in-Wall Box is engineered to deliver a clean, organized, and professional look directly behind your wall-mounted television. Designed for seamless integration into standard wall cavities, this media enclosure conceals unsightly cables, streaming devices, routers, and power supplies while keeping them accessible for setup and maintenance. Whether you’re setting up a new entertainment center or upgrading an existing system, this in-wall box provides both aesthetic appeal and functional efficiency. By housing your media components within the wall structure, it eliminates visual clutter and supports a minimalist design that enhances the overall appearance of your living space.
Key Features
- 17-inch Interior Space: Generous interior dimensions provide ample room to accommodate a wide range of media devices, including streaming sticks (such as Roku, Amazon Fire Stick, Apple TV), gaming consoles (like PlayStation or Xbox), soundbars, small AV receivers, and Wi-Fi routers. This flexibility ensures compatibility with current and future home entertainment systems.
- In-Wall Installation: Built to mount directly between standard wall studs spaced at 16 inches on-center, the box integrates flush into the wall cavity for a smooth, finished surface. Once installed, it blends seamlessly with drywall, creating the illusion that your electronics are part of the structure itself.
- Advanced Cable Management: Features strategically placed routing channels that allow HDMI, power, Ethernet, and other low-voltage cables to pass neatly through the box. These pathways help reduce tangling, improve airflow, and simplify future upgrades or device replacements by maintaining a tidy internal layout.
- Ventilation Design: A perforated front panel promotes passive cooling by allowing heat to escape from enclosed electronics. This helps maintain optimal operating temperatures, preventing overheating and extending the lifespan of connected devices—especially important during extended use for gaming or streaming.
- Universal Compatibility: Works with virtually all wall-mount brackets and fits within typical wall cavity depths found in residential construction. Ideal for both new installations and retrofit projects where you want to upgrade your setup without major remodeling.
Technical Specifications
- Interior Dimensions: 17 inches (width) × 12.5 inches (height) × 4 inches (depth)
- Mounting System: Designed to fit within 16-inch on-center wall stud spacing; includes mounting flanges for secure attachment to studs
- Material Construction: Durable, fire-rated plastic housing that meets safety standards for in-wall applications
- Ventilation: Perforated front grille with open mesh design for optimal airflow without compromising structural integrity
- Compatibility: Supports standard VESA mounting patterns when used with compatible wall mounts; suitable for use with all major brands of streaming devices, gaming consoles, and AV equipment
- Cable Access: Multiple knockout points and routing guides for customizing entry and exit paths based on your specific wiring needs
Benefits & Use Cases
This in-wall media solution is especially valuable in modern homes where aesthetics and functionality go hand in hand. In living rooms, home theaters, or bedrooms, it transforms a messy cable-filled setup into a streamlined, distraction-free environment. The ability to hide power adapters, HDMI switchers, and network gear behind the TV not only improves visual appeal but also makes routine maintenance and troubleshooting more convenient—no need to reach behind furniture or navigate tangled wires.
For homeowners planning smart home integrations, this box can serve as a central hub for routers, modems, or control systems, all safely concealed yet easily accessible. It’s also ideal for rental properties or spaces where temporary setups require clean, non-invasive installations that don’t leave permanent marks or damage walls.
Additionally, the structured cable management reduces the risk of accidental disconnections and simplifies future upgrades—whether you’re adding a second monitor, integrating surround sound, or switching to a newer streaming platform. The ventilation system ensures reliable performance even under heavy usage, making it a practical choice for households with multiple high-performance devices running simultaneously.
Important Notes
Installation requires basic carpentry tools such as a saw, drill, measuring tape, and level, along with familiarity with routing cables through drywall and securing components to wall studs. Always turn off power before working with electrical wiring, and consult local building codes to ensure compliance with safety regulations regarding in-wall enclosures.
The package includes only the in-wall box unit; mounting hardware for the TV and individual media devices must be purchased separately. Ensure proper clearance around the vented front panel to prevent obstruction of airflow. For best results, choose a wall mount that matches your TV’s VESA pattern and aligns with the opening dimensions of the media box.
Note that this product does not include electrical wiring, insulation, or any accessories beyond the plastic housing. Users responsible for routing power and data lines should plan their layout carefully to maximize accessibility and safety.

Must have for Samsung Frame TV!
This is great for Samsung frame TV. all equipment and any miscellaneous equipment can be put in it. Also can also add tube to lower box for HMDI to have access below so xbox, camera camcorders, etc can be added. Use a HDMI 2.0 Decorative Wall Plate with a box… clean look. And get a proper frame from Deco too… Makes a very nice install. And don’t forget to have the surge protector power plug installed in box. I went with Legrand with audible alarm. I have 2 frame TV’s setup this way. Looks Perfect!

Best decision
Just bought a Samsung Picture Frame TV. Instead of running 120V line and making a new outlet, I used this to mount all the electronics behind the TV. Worked better than I hoped. Takes some faith to cut a huge hole in my overmantel that can’t be undone. But, I figure I’ll always have a TV there or an actual framed picture.Happy that I went this route instead of running all new wires/lines. Seems well made and instructions are clear.

Get a kit that has the 1 gang power outlet box INCLUDED – others won’t fit.
If you are attempting to conceal a power outlet in this, opt for one with the 1 gang outlet box included (they make these in smaller kits from the same company, at least. I’ve seen them at Lowes). I tried a new work and an old work outlet box off the shelf from Lowes and both were too wide. Shaving the flexible plastic down to fit it is tedious.I’ve got a 43″ samsung Frame TV. If I could start over, I’d find another place to store the “brain” for that TV and use a smaller kit behind the TV. This box is too big to give you placement options between studs behind a TV that size.Screwing it into the studs makes it feel rock solid. I can’t use front cover in my setup, so I’m not sure how well that is going to work for you.

Perfect for a frame TV
This was exactly what I was looking for to install my Frame TV. It fits perfectly between the studs in my interior wall. I used the drywall brackets and stud screws (not provided) to secure the box.
