The 3.5-inch paring knife handles delicate tasks like peeling fruits or coring apples, while two 5-inch utility knives bridge the gap between paring and chef knives for medium-duty prep. Four 4.5-inch steak knives are included for elegant table service, and the set concludes with durable kitchen shears—useful for opening packages, trimming herbs, or cutting through bone-in proteins. Benefits & Use Cases

Cooking enthusiasts and busy families alike will appreciate how the Astercook Knife Set streamlines food preparation. The 8-inch chef knife excels at chopping large batches of vegetables or herbs, while the Santoku knife’s wide, flat profile makes it perfect for slicing, dicing, and mincing with minimal lifting. The slicing knife glides smoothly through roasted meats without tearing the fibers, ensuring tender, restaurant-quality portions every time. The bread knife’s serrated edge cleanly slices through crusty artisan loaves without crushing the soft interior—a must-have for sandwich lovers and baking fans.

The paring knife is indispensable for detailed work such as deveining shrimp, shaping citrus zest, or trimming stems from strawberries. The two utility knives offer flexibility for tasks between chef and paring duties—ideal for chopping sandwiches, cutting fruit salads, or portioning deli meats. When it comes to dining, the four steak knives deliver polished table presentation, featuring sharp, durable edges that cut through even well-marbled beef effortlessly. The included kitchen shears add unexpected utility: they’re excellent for snipping fresh thyme, cracking nuts, or trimming excess fat from chicken thighs.

Thanks to the full tang design, every knife maintains its integrity over years of regular use. Unlike partial tang knives that can loosen or break under pressure, these tools stay securely assembled, giving users confidence during heavy chopping or repetitive slicing. The 430 stainless steel handles don’t absorb moisture like wood, making them easier to clean and less prone to bacterial growth—important in humid climates or after washing with hot water.

Important Notes

This set does not include a magnetic strip, wooden block, honing rod, or cutting board. These accessories may be sold separately or bundled in promotional versions, but standard packaging contains only the listed knives and shears. To preserve sharpness and extend lifespan, hand washing is strongly recommended—avoid dishwashers where high heat and harsh detergents can degrade the steel finish and compromise handle integrity over time.

Store knives safely in a protective block, on a magnetic strip, or within a knife roll to prevent blade damage and reduce the risk of accidental cuts. Never use knives as screwdrivers, bottle openers, or pry bars—doing so can chip the edge, warp the blade, or cause dangerous handle slippage. While the set is built for indoor kitchen use, it’s also suitable for outdoor grilling setups where portability and durability matter.

Nice set, good and solid quality, the big knives on the small side
This is a very nice 15-piece knife set including a 8″ chef knife, a 8″ slicing knife, a 7″ Santoku knife, a 8″ serrated bread knife, a 5″ utility knife, a 3.5″ paring knife, 6 pcs 4.5″ serrated steak knives, a pair of kitchen shears, a knife sharpener plus a hardwood knife block. I like their various functions, they are well made with German steel and are the most complete set that I have ever owned. On one blade of the shears there is a can opener, very unique. Also it’s awesome that the steak knives can be put on the block, I will use them from now on and get rid of my older steak knives from the drawer to save space. The hardwood knife block is well made, heavy enough to hold all the knives, yet doesn’t take much space on the kitchen counter top–an excellent feature. My old knife block only has 6 slots but its base size is about the same as this one. The main/big knifes are ~1-2 in. shorter than my old ones, but their blades are more curved.I’ve used the chef knife (cutting fruits and vegetables) and the bread knife (splitting bagels that are pretty dense). They are probably the sharpest and hardest that I have ever had, but in the mean time they are light and the handles with black rubber grooves fit well and don’t slip. Overall they are excellent value products and I highly recommend!

    Quality knife set
I love that this set has a full tang, it is a solid set. They look great, and the block is super attractive. High quality for less than you’d pay for a name brand set. Mine did need to be sharpened, but I like my knives extremely sharp. We’ll see how they hold up to time and wear!

    Okay for everyday use.
This knife set looks modern and attractive and are super sharp out of the box. The grips also have a nice feel. They are advertised as full tang but they appear to have the blade and handle just one piece. They feel light in the handle and less balanced than other full tang knives I own. The different blades are the most commonly used though I would prefer a longer/thinner boning knife in place of the utility knife, which is just a larger paring knife. Overall, I think these make a nice starter set of knives.

Sharp and Stylish, Handle with Care
This set looks great and feels high quality, with a sleek design and plenty of useful knives for different tasks. However, the knives are extremely sharp, so be very careful when unpacking them—even though they come with protective covers, we still ended up cutting our hands a couple of times. Overall, it’s a versatile and well-designed set, just be mindful when handling!

    Excellent sharpness
This knife set is excellent in both build and sharpness. They’re noticeably lighter than my previous set I had been using and my hand doesn’t get as tired when chopping. The one piece design feels strong but the knives do give some flex when bending side to side. The handle designs are good though and I really like the textured grips provided by the indentations. The block is solid wood and doesn’t look cheap. It’s actually really nice. The sharpener works great but you have to move the scissors out of the way to use it.

    Sharp, balanced set
Amazing set. I have used each piece except the bread knife and the steak knives. The set is easy to clean. The handles provide a nice balance while using and the finish goes well with the wood block. The set is sharp. If cleaned properly and dried properly I can’t see them rusting.

Very light weight and a little strange
The nicest thing about this set is the wood block. It’s solid wood and has a built-in blade sharpener, and it’s very attractive for display. The knives themselves are a bit weird and slightly disappointing.First they are extremely light weight, and feel as if the handles are hollow. The blades are a bit thin and flexible. The description says German 1.4116 stainless steel, but the handle is a lower quality 430 stainless, so they were likely forged or stamped together. So I would not call this a full tang.I don’t hate it – I just think once you get into the $50-100 range, you have a lot of options that are higher quality than this.

nice knives, but on small side.
This is a great knife set. The block is nice and well built. My only complaint is that the larger knives are a bit shorter than I’m used to. I’d say bout 1-2″ shorter than usual. Overall the knives themselves are really nice and sharp though.
