Aqara Smart Lock U200 (Fingerprint Keypad Included), Matter

Great lock, above expectations
I just got the Aqara smart lock, and I’m really happy with it. Mounting it is not as hard as it seems, but it helps to watch a video on YouTube.Installing the lock in the app is straightforward, though updating the firmware takes a while. To pair it with HomeKit, I had to remove the battery and press the SET button first. Also, make sure you have IP6 enabled in your router settings. The installation is simple, but the instructions are limited and not in Dutch. The app could use some refinement.It works great with Apple HomeKit and Apple Homekey. You can choose to always be able to unlock the lock with your phone, even if it’s off. There’s also an option to require FaceID or your passcode before Homekey works. The fingerprint scanner is very fast and I use it most of the time. I also installed another cylinder with a panic function within a minute so that I can always open the door with a regular key. Note that Amazon sells the version without the NFC tag, but there are other versions available that include it, and they come with a wood-colored front plate.Once connected, the HomeKit integration is excellent, but you adjust the lock settings in the Aqara app. For instance, I set it in HomeKit so that the lock automatically locks when I leave home. Apple Homes won’t let you automatically lock the door as you leave your home, it always asks for confirmation. But I found another way to lock it automatically without any confirmation, just by making an automation that if a non used outlet turns off (this one turns off by leaving my home), the U200 has to be locked. This only works when the outlet is on, so when I arrive home, the outlet turns on again, also have an automation for this outlet to be turning on several times a day to make sure the auto locking works always without any confirmation.In the video, the lock is shown in the fast mode, but there’s also a slow, quiet mode. You can choose the modes in the app, or you can click the ✔️ button and then open or close the lock slowly.Despite many negative reviews here, I am very satisfied with it and think the lock is definitely worth the price.

flimsy cover material and limited use without home kit or m3 hub
U200 only works with M3 HUB. If you don’t have it you won’t be able use this device to its full potentialWith only iphone and no M3 HUB or homekit:pros:- you can control and setup users with Bluetooth.- very easy to install- numeric keys, multiple fingerprint, nfc device option for each user- auto lock is a great feature when it works- build is ok except the cover (see cons)- temporary keys can be generatedcons:- without homekit can not use apple key- auto lock failed to work ~5% of the time.- flimsy cover tabs broke on day one- obviously you can not use it remotely with Bluetooth- have to use aqara specific nfc cardswith iphone+A thread router (amazon echo 4th gen):pros:- can be added to alexa app (assuming you have a alexa device that can work as a thread edge router)- remote unlock feature- can be unlocked with echo devices (if you want – not sure why you would want that)cons:- setup method not mentioned anywhere. (just remember to press the set button when you scan the matter code in alexa app)i gave 4 stars (wanted to give 3.5) for flimsy cover material (specially for something that needs to be opened) and limitations of using without hub and homekit.

Pour remplacer une Nuki Pro Wifi qui était très très lente à se déclencher depuis l’application Nuki et encore plus depuis HomeKit où parfois elle était en statut “Sans Réponse”, parfois reconnue sans trop savoir pourquoi. Par contre, le système de rechargement de la batterie et l’application Nuki en elle-même étaient mieux.Cette serrure Aqara est excellente, de par sa réactivité et par sa prise en charge sans faille dans HomeKit sous Matter. Les temps de réponse sont excellents. Le mode silencieux permet d’avoir une ouverture plus longue mais beaucoup moins bruyante que normalement. Je n’ai pas utilisé le mode Nuit, car les automatisations HomeKit me permettent de gérer tous les cas dont j’ai besoin. Je n’utilise pas le clavier que j’ai quand même fixé à l’intérieur car il est nécessaire pour modifier les paramètres. Les quelques tests que j’ai fait pour utiliser l’Apple Key ne sont pas convaincants et j’ai préféré régler l’ouverture de la porte par un raccourci sur mon iPhone 15 Pro Max. De ce côté, Nuki permettait d’ouvrir la porte dès que je m’approchait de la serrure (Application Localiser Apple). Mais si on a plusieurs serrures Nuki, c’était pas génial non plus.Le système de rechargement de la batterie n’est pas génial, parce qu’il faut retirer le capot pour avoir accès au connecteur de la batterie. Et pour ouvrir ce capot, j’ai vraiment galéré la première fois. Ensuite, si on veut pas retirer la batterie, il faut accrocher un batterie externe à la poignée de la porte …Tout comptes fait, cette serrure est excellente et me parait très fiable, du moins pendant les quelques temps où je l’ai utilisée.

Erg fijne smartlock. Makkelijk en in eerste instantie geen hub nodig. Wil je wel de deur op afstand gaan bedienen heb je een matter hub nodig. De Aqara hub M3 zal de voorkeur hebben volgens Aqara zelf. Welke andere hub weet ik zo niet. Het slot heeft helaas nog geen optie om in een staan van zeg 5 meter de deur zelf te ontgrendelen door detectie van de telefoon. Mocht je een Apple hebben is er wel veel mogelijk door Apple home. Ik als android gebruiker kan hier niet veel over zeggen. Vingerafdruk werkt 9 van de 10 keer zonder probleem en pincode altijd tot zo ver. Vergeet echter niet een noodbediengs cilinder aan te schaffen als je deze niet hebt. Dit houd in dat als er een sleutel aan de binnenkant zit je de cilinder nog kan gebruiken met een sleutel van de andere zijde. YALE heeft hier niet al te dure van en werken perfect.Al met al fijn slot en veel mogelijkheden. Vandaar 5 sterren.
