Product Overview
The JUBEST 36″ Bifold Door Hardware Kit is a premium top-mounted sliding barn door system engineered specifically for two-panel folding doors—each up to 18 inches wide. Designed for bedrooms, bathrooms, closets, storerooms, and living rooms, this hardware solution offers an elegant, space-efficient alternative to traditional swinging doors. With 15 years of expertise in sliding door systems, JUBEST combines precision engineering with durable materials to deliver reliable performance and a sleek appearance that enhances any interior space.
This kit supports a total door weight of up to 150 pounds (75 lbs per panel) and accommodates standard door thicknesses from 1-3/8″ to 1-3/4″. Its top-mounted track design eliminates floor rails, creating a cleaner look and easier maintenance while ensuring smooth, quiet operation over time. Whether you’re updating a closet or dividing a room, this bifold door hardware delivers functionality without compromising style.
Key Features
- Upgraded 3-Wheel Hangers: Each hanger is equipped with three wheels that distribute the door’s weight evenly across all contact points, ensuring balanced support and consistent movement. The inclusion of durable ball bearing rollers significantly reduces friction, resulting in quieter and smoother operation compared to single or dual-wheel alternatives.
- Top-Mounted Track System: Installed along the ceiling or header above the door opening, the track guides both panels as they fold open and closed. This design not only saves floor space but also prevents obstruction in high-traffic areas, making it ideal for tight quarters like hallways or small apartments.
- Optimized for Two 18″ Panels: Specifically crafted for bifold configurations, this kit works best when paired with two individual door panels, each approximately 18 inches wide. This sizing aligns with standard interior door dimensions, simplifying installation and improving fit.
- High Load Capacity: Capable of supporting up to 150 lbs total weight (75 lbs per panel), the hardware is suitable for solid wood, MDF, or lightweight metal doors commonly used in residential settings. This ensures stability even with heavier materials.
- Versatile Door Thickness Compatibility: Accommodates doors ranging from 1-3/8″ (35mm) to 1-3/4″ (45mm) in thickness, offering flexibility for various door types and materials. This broad compatibility allows for use with pre-existing doors or new installations.
Technical Specifications
- Track Length: 36 inches
- Recommended Door Width: 18 inches per panel (two panels required)
- Maximum Total Weight Capacity: 150 lbs (75 lbs per panel)
- Compatible Door Thickness: 1-3/8″ to 1-3/4″ (35mm to 45mm)
- Final Finished Height: Door height + 2-7/8 inches
The finished height accounts for the additional clearance needed above the door frame to ensure full range of motion without interference. Plan your ceiling layout accordingly to avoid any issues during installation.
Benefits & Use Cases
This bifold door hardware kit excels in residential environments where space optimization and aesthetic appeal are priorities. By mounting the track on the ceiling rather than the floor, the system creates unobstructed pathways—ideal for busy households, pet owners, or individuals using mobility aids. The absence of floor rails makes sweeping and mopping far easier, contributing to long-term cleanliness and convenience.
Beyond practicality, the upgraded 3-wheel hanger system enhances durability and noise reduction. The balanced weight distribution prevents uneven wear on the track and minimizes creaking or wobbling over time. This feature is especially valuable in bedrooms or nurseries, where quiet operation contributes to a peaceful environment.
JUBEST’s focus on quality extends to every component. With 15 years of specialization in sliding door systems, the brand has refined its manufacturing process using professional-grade equipment and a skilled production team. Customers consistently choose JUBEST products because they combine reliability with modern design—making them perfect for transforming ordinary spaces into functional, stylish interiors.
Important Notes
Proper installation is essential for safe and effective performance. Secure mounting must be done above the door opening—ideally into ceiling joists or a sturdy header beam—to handle the combined weight of the doors and hardware. Failure to install on a sufficiently strong surface may result in instability or damage over time.
Ensure that your ceiling has adequate clearance for the final finished height, which includes an extra 2-7/8 inches above the standard door height. Measure carefully before purchasing to confirm compatibility with your existing door frames or planned construction.
This hardware is intended exclusively for interior use. Avoid exposure to excessive moisture, humidity, or temperature extremes unless protective measures are taken. Outdoor applications or environments like uninsulated garages or sun-exposed rooms require additional shielding to maintain longevity.
Before installation, verify that your doors meet the recommended width, thickness, and weight specifications. While the kit is versatile, deviations outside the stated ranges may compromise performance or safety.

Matched my previous hardware but with greatly improved rollers & pivot points
8-2024: Installed a longer 6′ version in another location & the install went 2X as fast ’cause I knew exactly where I wanted everything to line-up. This time I installed new oak panel doors & had to cut their bottoms to match a pre-existing door frame. I made my cuts exact & everything lined-up & works perfectly.7-2024: The previous owners of our house chose only top-quality components, which is why we bought the house, so I wasn’t surprised when this high-quality bi-fold door hardware arrived and the hinges were nearly exactly the same except for the color. Therefore I could use the same holes as before for the hinges, which was a timesaver. However, this new product has much improved top rollers and lower pivot points, which was the weakness of the previous design. Our house has Amish-built solid-oak doors throughout, so IMO the weight of or bi-fold doors, over a 20+ year period, wore-out the bearings on our previous rollers. The new rollers & pivot points are a much sturdier design, so I expect them to last a long time.Regarding installation, the instructions are vague but because it nearly matched the previous hardware, I could figure-out everything by taking pictures before I took-apart the old hardware. A key help is that you need to push-up the top pin all the way up into the wide hole, drop the bottom pin part-way in, slide the top pin inward to the smaller slot, let it drop down / settle into the smaller slot, and then push-in the plastic flange. The plastic flange pushes outward and appears to cover the top of the pin so that it cannot pop-out and move over to the large removal hole. Another help is that the top and bottom pivot point can be adjusted after installation which helps you to dial-in the best location / smooth action. Once done I placed some white grease on the top track & both sides roll smoothly & stay closed once shut. Very nice kit & highly recommended!

Excellent product, Poor instructions
Just one “clear” picture of the end result is all we would have needed to easily install the bifold door hardware. No engineering diagram needed, just a video on you tube of BIFOLD door installation for this product would be wonderful. Will I buy a kit for the 2nd closet door? yes, because we have already figured out the installation for the first bifold door. Five stars for quality of finished product, one star for installation instructions.

Upgrade to typical bifold door hardware
Builder grade bifold door hardware is terrible and wears quickly. This is a definite improvement. Install was easy. Had to patch deep 3/8â diameter holes in existing doors from old hardware and this was the difficult part. New doors would have been easier. My only complaint and not a big dealâ¦.the hardware is all quality and solid then they include some cheap plastic handles. Why even bother! Just kept to old wooden ones

The actual installation and design were well thought out. No surprises installing it.
I have 45 lb bifold closet doors, which ruin the light weight tracks sold at the box stores. So this came without damage, everything marked and accounted for in the carton. The instructions were clear and the installation illustrations were accurate enough to figure out exact orientations. The track was not damaged at all. The parts were well made and sturdy. Even supplied enough of the right screws and to say which size goes where. If it needs alignment there are adjustments on the pivot foot on the floor as well as in the track. There is only one small problem concerning the screws used to lock the pivots in the track. it is necessary to unscrew these screws from their bolts because the screw points won’t go past the pan head screws holding the track up. Sometimes these screws fell out and I had to fiddle around trying to get them re-aligned with the nuts above the pivots. However once installed at the right place, these screws really do grab the top of the track to hold the pivots in place. All in all an excellent product. Installing heavy bifold doors requires some skill and common sense. so keep that in mind.

The rails and hangers work, the rest is junk
First, it come with no instructions. The rail and hangers work and look like they are decent quality, the rest is junk. The screws break easily. You need to predrill bc the screws canât handle even particle board. Highly recommend buying the hardware at hardware store to put it together.

Good quality – solid
Very smooth, solid movement. I especially like how the weight is supported from the top. Now I want to convert all the closet doors in the house. I agree with some other reviewers – the instructions are a little confusing, but as the work progressed, it became clear enough. Well worth the effort to take some time with it.

Be ready to modify
Whoever designed this deserves a strongly worded letter (to say the least). To start, the hinges are the most annoying thing. Trying to mount doors with open hinges like this is insanely frustrating. Second and maybe even more frustrating is that the floor mounting hardware also brought me close to throwing the whole project out the window. I ended up breaking two of their cheap garbage screws trying to secure the hardware to the floor, even with pilot holes ready to go. I also ended up scratching up the front of the doors and side jamb trying to secure this piece to the ground after the doors are hung. This is insane. I do this for a living and will never recommend this product to anyone doing anything custom.
