Too slow
I hate this thermometer. It takes forever to read the temperature. My last, one from a different brand, read the temperature in seconds. This one takes forever and a day. I dont have the original package but am hoping to return it or get a replacement.UPDATE: I initially gave this thermometer a one star review but am changing it to five stars solely on this companyâs customer service. A rep reached out to me right away and offered a full refund without having to return the thermometer. The thermometer probably works just fine for most people who order it. I think I just got a defective one. Either way, their customer service is excellent.

Must have kitchen utensil!
I absolutely love this meat thermometer! I really enjoy cooking and since Iâm not skilled enough yet to tell done-ness by touch, this tool is one of my most used kitchen utensils! I really like that this one is waterproof, this is my 3rd thermometer as the others have all been ruined by water. I also really like the backlit display and the flashlight for the probe (super handy when grilling at night!) and the bottle opener on the other end is a really handy feature. Itâs multiple tools in one! I also appreciate that this shows has temperature scale on the actual thermometer! It really is such a great product I bought on for my brother and sister in law for Christmas! I Would highly recommend!

Accurate and handy
Okay, so, this instant read meat thermometer? Gets the job done. Reads super fast, like, 3 seconds, which is great when you’re trying not to overcook your steak. Seems accurate enough, I haven’t had any issues so far. Love that it’s waterproof, makes cleanup a breeze. And it’s easy to use â just pull out the probe and it turns on. Big, backlit screen is a plus, especially when grilling at night. The hold function is handy for checking temps away from the heat. It calibrates, too, which is important for keeping it accurate. Overall, a solid thermometer.

This thermometer has a few good features. It automatically turns on when you unfold the probe from stored position. Vice versa, it turns off when the probe is folded back into storage grove. This is a step less to operate. You just unfold the probe and stick into the food items right away. It turns itself off even when the probe is unfolded in 5 minutes. To wake it up again, just press any button on it. When the probe is folded in storage position, pressing buttons does not wake the unit up. This is also very good for preventing unnecessarily turning it on by accident or during storing it in crowded storage.The base of the probe has a small LED light which also automatically turns on when it operates in dim light. There is a sensor on the front panel. However, you need to make sure your hand or fingers do not block the sensor. The display size is large, the temperature digits are about .5 inch. tall. That is very good and easy to see.The display also has backlight to help seeing when in dimmer condition as well. It comes on automatically and stays on for about 3 minutes and goes off. There is light button to activate the backlight if you need to as well.I was so surprised that display is also auto. rotate so that you can read from either side. You can hold it with your left or right hand and tilt the display toward you to read and the display will automatically rotate to have display the right side up.I have not tried this feature but it allows you to calibrate if you need too. It is supposed to be calibrated from the factory however.I do not use or bottle opener but for those who do open bottle often, this is also convenient. The unit is well made and feel sturdy and strong. Its front panel came with thin protective screen. It uses CR-2032 button battery which is also a good thing as this is a common battery and can easily found with low cost. Opening the battery compartment needs addition tool such as coil to unscrew the cap. This may not be as convenient but it is not too terribly hard. The battery well is deep and the batter cap feels like it has “rubbery” like friction when turned. I think this is to meet water proof claim.Overall, this is a good unit and for the price, it is also good value.

Foolproof cooking and large, clear display
I decided that guessing if our chicken was done was probably not a good long term strategy so when I saw this, I ordered it right away. My mom has an instant read thermometer and uses it religiously and since moms know bestâ¦.! It reads the temperature almost instantly and within a tenth of a decimal. I love that the display both lights up, and is oversized so I donât have to angle or squint to see it. The water resistant cover is a plus since it gets bbq sauce and whatnot on it. Canât speak to battery life since it hasnât run out yet but itâs easy to change from the back. It comes with a safe temperature chart which is thoughtful and Iâve stuck to my fridge. It seems very durable and has an automatic shutoff feature to save battery life. Also, the display flips over automatically to read which was a fun surprise! All an all, a kitchen essential that I shouldâve had years ago. Would make a great stocking stuffer too. Highly recommend!
