    Very Good!
I was looking for a center speaker mount. Have a klipsh 5.1 system and center speaker was blocking IR signal for TV. Center speaker was heavy, did not feel comfortable to drywall mount on a single screw based speaker. It was either small shelf, or this, which can be mounted to standard TV wall mount screws. I have a 60 inch Sony flat panel, there was only enough room to mount to top of the TV wall mount screws, but got the tight, and the glass base keeps it all together, making a fairly solid over-TV shelf. It is non-intrusive and attractive design. I highly recommend it, but not sure if it would fit for a TV that is larger than 80″.

Tricky to set up, but works well once you’re there
Good: This has worked out better than I’d expected. It’s holding a DVD player underneath a wall-mounted TV at a slight downward angle. The glass shelf, which I was apprehensive about at first, is firmly in place and doesn’t let the player slide downward at all.Bad: A bit tricky to assemble; you have to get the bracket arms positioned exactly right to avoid putting stress on the glass shelf, while keeping the TV mount in place. It was less grief than it might sound like, installation of the shelf added maybe 15 minutes to the total wall-mount installation time. Price isn’t spectacular, higher than that of the swing-arm wall mount I installed at the same time.Bottom line: Again, it exceeded my expectations. Five stars, but just barely; the high price almost cost it that fifth star.

Easiest way to get parts to make your own shelf
I bought this shelf because I needed a nice mount for a center channel speaker over my flat panel TV. I didn’t want to go with a standard speaker wall mount because my TV is on an articulated mount, so it was important to get a shelf that could be mounted in conjunction with my existing mount (also a Monoprice mount). However, this shelf is huge. It can easily hold your Blu-ray player, video game systems, and then some. I didn’t want something nearly that huge above my TV, so I used the parts from this to make my own shelf. I’m not making any use of the glass shelf and had to trim the horizontal support arms down with a hacksaw, then sand down them down with a Dremel and finish with black spray paint. Next I got a custom laser cut piece of 5mm black plexiglas for the new shelf that fits my speaker perfectly. When mounted on the shortened support arms I now have a perfect mount for my center channel speaker. It’s sad that I had to get the glass shelf too, but this appears to be the cheapest way to get mounts for a custom shelf for your flat panel TV.

    Exactly as described
I bought this a few months ago but finally got around to installing it. Wish I hadn’t been so lazy :)It was pretty easy to assemble and even easier to attach to my TV – a 50′ Sony LED. The attachment “legs” are pretty thin, which meant they easily fit under my existing wall mount strips without adding a lot of extra space (my mount worked best with them under but they will also fit over on some mounts). If you have short-ish screws with your existing wall mount setup you might need to get ones a little longer, depends on your existing equipment – mine were fine. The only trick to installing it is you need to get the position/height right before you mount it – there’s no way to adjust it up/down when fully installed. Use measuring tape first to “block” it out with your TV still mounted to the wall. I found the best way to install it was to put the TV face down on a bed with the bottom edge right at the edge of the bed itself – then you can easily screw everything in and adjust it before tightening down.As for the rest, well, it looks pretty sharp without standing out and easily fits both my little HTPC box and my IR headphone receiver, plus a Roku 3, all without looking cluttered. In fact everyone who has seen it at my house has immediately asked me where to buy one. I like the way they designed this shelf much better than others I have seen. Keep in mind that it’s not that big – it’ll fit a cable box or BD player, two if you stack them, or several smaller components like I do, but it’s not going to hold an A/V receiver or anything like that (and would look pretty dumb if it did anyway). For bigger components you’ll need one of those vertical dual-shelf mount things that they also sell.

Glass shelf is not wide enough.
This shelf I am using above the TV set to hold A wireless router and the Xbox One camera. Two issues on it right off the bat. It will NOT work with larger TV sets without modification. I have a 55″ TV and the mount holes are too far apart by 1 inch. So I drilled the wall mount bracket and mounted it to the wall mount instead of the TV set. This works but required a run to the hardware store. Dont expect this to fit perfectly without effort unless you have a small TV set.Is it worth the money? yes. is it just install and go? no. expect to buy things and modify things to make it work. when it was all said and done I now have everything installed and it looks good, but it took more time than expected and more modifications expected. if the glass shelf was 2″ wider it would have been perfect and installed without effort as they want you to install it.

Sturdy design and just what I needed to support cable box
The brackets easily mount on the back of the TV and are still compatible with a TV wall mounting bracket. We have a flatscreen TV mounted in the corner of our bedroom. While this shelf is designed to stick outwards (shelf facing out), I was able to re-situate the shelf so it was sticking behind the TV into the corner. Our cable box sits on top of the shelf, and the face of the cable box is flush with the front of the TV. Works very well. I was happy I was able to get it to go the other way and fit a corner TV.

After mounting our TV on the wall via a long arm we needed something to support our Freeview box under the TV (as there’s no wall behind the TV when it’s in use). This was mounted to the vesa plate on the back of the TV. The only difficulty was fitting the little plastic brackets that hold the shelf to the vertical arms. The plastic brackets needed a little filing off them for the screws to align with the threads, but, given that the same item is usually found on sale elsewhere ( incl Amazon and Ebay) for over £30, it was a bargain. The cardboard in my pic is a temporary solution to the gap you can see around the Freeview box which is a little distracting due to the light coming through the windows behind….soon to be a black metal bracket.

Great, sturdy product for the price. At first glance, I thought this tv stand wouldnt fit because of the distance between the vertical brackets. If you install using the instructions this can be misleading but rest assured, the shelf will fit any placement up to 400mm wide.It fits great under my tv and feels solid. I used spacers that came with my tv since the bracket didnt sit flush against it.
