Product Overview

The Proctor Silex® 10 Cup Coffee Maker delivers a dependable, no-fuss solution for making up to ten cups of hot coffee at home. Designed with simplicity in mind, this drip-style brewer requires just one button press—after adding ground coffee and water—to begin the brewing process. Whether you’re preparing coffee for a small family or need a quick pot during a busy morning, this model prioritizes ease of use without compromising on performance. Its straightforward operation makes it accessible for all experience levels, from first-time users to daily brewers seeking reliability.

One of the standout features is the Auto Pause & Pour function, which allows you to pause the flow of coffee by lifting the carafe mid-brew. This means you can pour yourself a cup while the rest continues to finish, eliminating the wait time typically associated with full batches. The Lift & Clean brew basket is both removable and dishwasher safe, simplifying cleanup after each use. Combined with a durable borosilicate glass carafe that resists thermal shock, this coffee maker supports consistent daily use and long-term durability.

For users invested in smart home ecosystems, this model is compatible with standard smart plugs that work with Alexa, Google Home, or Siri. While the smart plug itself must be purchased separately, integration enables voice-activated control or scheduling through your existing routines. This feature adds convenience for those who prefer automated or hands-free operation, though it’s entirely optional and doesn’t affect basic functionality.

Key Features

  • One-Button Brewing: Start brewing instantly by pressing a single power button after loading ground coffee and water—no timers, settings, or complicated steps required.
  • Auto Pause & Pour Technology: Lift the carafe during brewing to temporarily stop the coffee flow, allowing you to serve a cup before the entire batch finishes. Return the carafe to resume seamlessly.
  • Durable Borosilicate Glass Carafe: Resistant to temperature changes and less prone to cracking than traditional glassware, this carafe maintains clarity and keeps coffee warm over time.
  • Lift & Clean Brew Basket: Fully removable and dishwasher-safe for effortless cleaning, ensuring consistent flavor extraction and hygiene after every use.
  • On/Off Indicator Light: A visible light signals when the unit is powered on, serving as a gentle reminder to turn off the machine after brewing to conserve energy.
  • Smart Plug Compatibility: Works with most third-party smart plugs that support voice assistants like Alexa, Google Assistant, or Siri—ideal for remote or scheduled brewing (smart plug not included).

Technical Specifications

  • Brew Capacity: Up to 10 cups (approximately 1.3 liters)
  • Carafe Material: Borosilicate glass
  • Brew Basket: Removable, dishwasher safe
  • Power Source: Standard household electrical outlet
  • Indicator: On/off status light
  • Smart Home Integration: Compatible via external smart plug (sold separately)

Benefits & Use Cases

This coffee maker is ideal for households where multiple people consume coffee regularly, such as families, roommates, or individuals who entertain guests. Its 10-cup capacity ensures there’s enough coffee to go around during busy mornings or casual gatherings. The compact design fits comfortably on countertops without consuming excess space, making it suitable for kitchens of various sizes.

The Auto Pause & Pour feature is particularly valuable for those who dislike waiting for a full pot to finish before having their first sip. By pausing mid-brew, you gain immediate access to fresh coffee without sacrificing the rest of the batch. Cleanup remains effortless thanks to the dishwasher-safe components, reducing post-brew maintenance time.

Smart plug compatibility enhances convenience for tech-savvy users. Once paired with a supported smart plug, you can initiate brewing remotely using a mobile app or issue voice commands through devices like Amazon Echo or Google Nest. This integration suits users who want their coffee ready upon waking or prefer automated start times—though the machine functions normally without any smart features enabled.

Important Notes

  • A smart plug is required for automation and voice control; it is not included with the coffee maker and must be purchased separately if desired.
  • The borosilicate glass carafe is durable but should be handled carefully during filling or pouring to avoid thermal shock, despite its resilience to temperature shifts.
  • This model does not include programmable scheduling or built-in timers—brewing begins immediately when powered on.
  • Use medium-coarse ground coffee for optimal results, as finer grinds may clog the filter over time.
  • Package includes: 10-cup coffee maker base, glass carafe, and removable brew basket.

    Great cheap coffee maker.
I’ve been using a filter cup and filters, really easy to clean up and use, not very convenient to pour hot water into the filter cup every few minutes. Which is why I got this coffee maker. This product arrived on time and in great shape.Item is light and well made (so far no problems). The plastic feels cheap but it works and is cheap so…..Nice removable plastic basket, I use a basket filter that I used for the filter cup, there’s a swivel spout that you move out of the way to remove the filter basket, if you forget to push the spout back over the filter basket then when you close the lid it’s made in a way to push the spout over the coffee grounds. The carafe is glass and plastic. The hot plate works well. All in all it’s even faster than my filter cup and nice and hot just not burning hot so if you want burning hot look elsewhere. It does take about 50% more coffee grounds to make the same amount I would use with the filter cup. I typically drink one large mug which is equivalent to this carafe, I’ve cut down my coffee to 1/2 – 3/4 of this carafe to make up the difference in the coffee usage. For the price the convenience is worth it and now I don’t have to stand over my coffee filing up the filter cup every few minutes. Love it.

Smart option for a dumb cup of coffee
My Cuisinart of 5 years died and it sent me looking for a “smart” brew option. I grind my whole beans at night before bed so I can be greeted every morning with a fresh pot when I wake. My last coffee maker had included a timer but only one setting and always took long to change, so I wanted a voice option and flexible timer for weekends and holidays. I have dozens of Alexa controlled, smart devices, so this option made sense—a simple, dumb on/off switch and a smart plug!Of my choices, this was the only one that Amazon advertised “Smart” (with a $9 plug, of course). Good move because I’m very happy with the brewing that can adapt to my schedule and now, Alexa voice control. I don’t need a smart pot, I need a dumb, on/off maker with a smart plug.”Alexa. Turn off coffee pot…”

    Very good – but!
I use this coffee pot every day – and it works fine. Only problem is that the hinges on the cover broke – and now the cover cannot be attached to the pot. It’s really very annoying.

Serves the purpose, but very cheap maker…
you got what you pay for. It makes a coffee. Very generic maker with one button On/Off. People referring to the leakage is because of the design. it is not a leakage, what happening is that the maker design to have a coffee basket as pretty much insert into the entire part of the maker and serve as the seal to the carafe. Unfortunately, during the brew process the water getting all over inside and when you open the lid to clean, pulling the basket getting some of that drops out. there is nothing you can do and if you’d like to get this one, you would have to deal with it.Some good things that I noticed:– > When you pull the carafe before the brewing is finished, it is actually very clean comparing to other makes. so the seal between the basket and carafe is actually good.– It does not take a lot of space.– The carafe is kind of inside the walls of the maker that makes the carafe very stable.– Can be plugged into the smart plug that compatible to google or amazon and you can do the automation to switch it on/off.– Your coffee would be kept hot until you turn the switch off and this is sometimes a great thing instead of the maker goes off after 2 hours and any coffee that you left for later would become cold. Not that good:– You have to remember to turn the makes off when not in use to avoid any fire issues.– When finish and cleanup, some water drops can be all over. not a lot but still a little inconvenience.– There is no visual water indicator, so you have to watch inside to how much you pour the water in. Best to fill the carafe with desired amount of the water and then pour it into the maker.– The power cord is not that long, so you have to keep the maker close to the outlet.– The maker is made from very cheap plastic, so, do not expect very pretty and shiny coffee maker.Over all I would give it 3 stars. It does brew coffee fine, and relatively fast. I use it with the smart switch and actually very beneficial to have it loaded night before and have a smart routine to start brewing the coffee at scheduled time in the morning.buy it or not: your decision 🙂

If you’re looking for a simple, well designed, compact and inexpensive coffee maker this it it. No timers, grinders, settings or anything else (except for being smart plug compatible, which I don’t use.) Just fill the reservoir, add coffee and turn on. It makes good coffee and fairly quickly. The warming plate stays hot until you turn it off.The cord is about 22” long. It can also be tucked into the back of the machine. The reservoir has no volume markings but if you fill it from the carafe this doesn’t matter. Just about perfect.

Encantada con mi cafetera ya la tuve y me duró años, por eso la volví a comprar, y sobre todo porque el filtro de papel es aún mejor que el lavable

My hubby broke my last pot so had to find a new one. Read all the reviews and went with this choice. It’s perfect. Large size. Brews quickly. Easy to clean. Love that the plug is retractable since I don’t leave it plugged in. I don’t see how flavour comes into play. You drink what you put it. I found it only burnt coffee after a few hours with little in the pot. Overall great buy for price. I’d recommend

It works and 10 cups is enough for most occasions. The carafe is not dripping when pouring coffee as long as there’s are not more than 8 or 9 cups in it.The machine is very light and moves around when touched or the carafe is put in with to much force. The carafe moves in and out easily. All in all it is an ok machine but that is what the price reflects. The entire machine needed a thorough cleaning because it was dusty and looked almost used but it seems to have been from the way it was packaged because the first one has a broken hinge the replacement was just as dirty.I wanted a machine with a physical on/off switch all that I can use the smart plug and Alexa to start the coffee in the morning.I would buy it again if this one breaks any time after 3 years as that is what I expect as life span for it.
