Its WiFi connectivity allows remote management via the Miele@home app, enabling users to schedule brews, adjust drink profiles, or receive maintenance reminders from anywhere with an internet connection. • WiFi Connectivity & Smart Control: Through the Miele@home smartphone app (available on iOS and Android), users can monitor machine status, initiate cleaning cycles, update firmware, and personalize drink settings remotely. This feature adds convenience for those who want to preheat their morning espresso while still in bed or adjust preferences before arriving home.
  • Wide Range of Programmable Drinks: In addition to standard espresso, ristretto, and lungo, the CM 6160 supports specialty options such as flat white, latte macchiato, and more—all customizable in volume, strength, and milk ratio via easy-to-access menus.
  • User-Friendly Interface: A clear digital display and tactile buttons guide users through selection and customization processes, making advanced features accessible even to beginners. Drink icons and progress indicators simplify navigation during operation.

Benefits & Use Cases

This machine excels in households where multiple people enjoy different types of coffee throughout the day. Parents can set up individual profiles so children get milder brews, while adults receive full-strength espressos. The ability to customize every aspect—from shot size to milk density—ensures no two drinks are exactly alike unless desired. For busy professionals or remote workers, the WiFi feature offers peace of mind: you can ensure your machine has been cleaned overnight or that it’s ready with freshly ground beans by morning. Despite its residential design, the CM 6160 rivals commercial-grade equipment in precision, thanks to its pressure-controlled pump and thermoblock heating system. It’s particularly well-suited for medium to large families, coffee clubs, or anyone who hosts regularly and wants to impress guests with barista-level presentations—all from a compact countertop footprint.

Important Notes

While many users praise the ease of use, rich milk texture, and responsive app controls, several customer reports indicate that components may fail prematurely under regular use. Issues such as inconsistent milk froth, error messages, or complete malfunction after months rather than years have been noted, suggesting potential quality control inconsistencies despite Miele’s reputation. Cleaning remains essential—especially the automatic milk line rinsing function, which must be performed after each milk-based beverage to avoid bacterial growth and unpleasant odors. Although no warranty duration is officially stated in available documentation, buyers should anticipate possible service needs beyond initial satisfaction. Accessories and consumables (such as cleaning tablets or milk container parts) may need separate purchase over time. Prospective owners should weigh the machine’s impressive capabilities against reported durability concerns and factor in routine maintenance into their long-term expectations.

    It just arrived today…
I have only had the 6360 for an hour but wanted to write this review because so many others ran into problems on day one, which made me hesitant to complete this purchase. I eventually decided to purchase it anyway and it arrived today. I set it up immediately because my old espresso machine (Jura) broke down a week ago and I miss my coffee. It took two minutes to unbox it, two minutes to fill with water and beans and another two minutes to plug it in and go through the setup process. Everything happened just like it was supposed to. I cheated a little bit because I read an online version of the user manual before the machine arrived so I didn’t have to waste time reading the setup instructions. I made two cups of coffee and threw them away per the instructions. I then made a cup of coffee for myself using the default setting. I got 5 ounces of coffee and it was very strong. I added a little water and it was pretty nice with a good crema. Tomorrow I will make some adjustments to suit my taste. Note: I haven’t gone through any of the cleaning processes yet, which is where some people ran into their problems. By reading these reviews and per the user manual I know not to use too much water in the tank when cleaning so I am hoping that I won’t run into problems. I will update this review if I run into problems tomorrow or sometime down the road, but so far I am really excited because I was expecting it to be DOA, and instead it surprised me and worked perfectly.UPDATE: I have had the machine for a few days now and am still very impressed. All of the default coffee settings are very strong so I have updated the “coffee amount” settings to suit my taste. Changing the coffee amount, brew temperature and pre-brew setting is quite easy. Changing the portion size is more convoluted however. Once you select “Portion size” from the Paramenter menu, the machine starts dispensing the beverage and you have to press the OK key once it has dispensed the amount of coffee/espresso/froth that want. I prefer the Jura process which lets you select the number of ounces (for coffee/espresso) and the number of seconds to dispense froth. I don’t actually have to dispense the beverage at that time. The froth created by the Miele is superior to any machine I have used to date which includes Jura, DeLonghi and Saeco. Cleaning the frothing tube after each use is very easy and I prefer it over the Jura. I have only had the machine for a few days but decided to run the weekly milkpipe maintence anyway as per some of the reveiws it seems to be the most problematic. I made the mistake of emptying the water container and adding the 300 ml of lukewarm water prior to actually turning the machine on. I don’t recommend this because the machine starts telling you that you need to add water. The instructions clearly state to open the Menu and select Maintence / Clean Milk Pipework. The machine will then prompt you when to empty the water container, etc. Even though I got ahead of the process, I did get the cycle to run with no further issues. It takes about 20 minutes. In comparing this process to the Jura, the Jura is much easier because it has a separate container for the cleaning agent; you don’t have to empty the water container. The Jura only take 5 minutes, while the Miele takes 20 minutes. My Jura never made good froth though, so if the 20 minute Miele process keeps my unit making good froth I will happily perform the function at least once a week. So, having owned the machine for 5 days, I still give it 5 stars.

A high end machine with fatal flaws
When and if they work, Miele super automatic coffee makers, produce some of the best espresso drinks and milk-based beverages that you will ever taste. And they do it with incredible ease and sophistication. Sadly, however, they have numerous software and design issues which cause them to fail in unrecoverable ways. Many users report a problem with the machine getting stuck in a descaling loop, others have trouble getting the brew unit to properly reseat, and now my problem can be added to the list. Take the machine out of the box, plug it in, answer the first few questions that it gives you, and the machine is stuck with an error code. It just says “close the door”. The door is closed, of course, and there’s no way to cancel the message or bypass it.Seems like something that a simple troubleshooting step ought to be able to address. But there is no troubleshooting step for this. And here is the critical bit: Miele customer service is the worst customer service in the world. When you call them, they don’t even understand what machine you’re talking about. They have such limited knowledge of their own products. There is no team of technicians available to help walk you through problems. They basically just tell you to search their website. Your only option for addressing a problem with this machine is to give them $300 in advance and they will promise to try to fix the problem. Of course, if they can’t, you lose twice. At this price, a machine like this should be backed with confidence by quality customer service. And it should work flawlessly out of the box, and for many years. Having just replaced a Miele coffee machine that became increasingly problematic, which they were unable to help us service, we made the mistake of buying another one of their products. When it failed out of the box, and there was no troubleshooting available, and customer service refused to help us, or worse, was unable to help us, we decided to just return it and buy something better.Which is exactly what you should do. Buy something better.

Great Coffee, Easy to Use and Clean, works great with oat milk
This was our first super automatic coffee machine after years of making drip coffee and pour overs. We don’t use dairy in our house and a key requirement of this system was for it to use a non-dairy milk. After much experimentation we found Califia Farms Barista Blend Oat Milk works better than any other oat milk. At first we thought the unit may have been broken when trying other oat milks but after several failures with other non-dairy milks the Califia Farms Barista Blend Oat Milk froths as well if not better than dairy whole milk. The Miele CM 6360 has every option and customization to the coffee you would ever want. Each family member can have a different profile with their own modifications, more liquid, more milk, temperature. The app is not all that useful, it works but there isn’t anything that the app does that can’t be done from the unit front panel just as fast if not faster. We first thought it would be useful to turn on the unit when we wake up so it’s ready to go by the time we get downstairs but the Miele warms up so fast it’s not even worth turning it on remotely. The only negative is that we paid extra for the 6360 over the 6160 thinking the area around the coffee ports was stainless. It is not, just a different color plastic. The self cleaning milk tube is a game changer, it really works and the tube is spotless after every cleaning.Overall we are very happy with the 6360 and would highly recommend it. If the extra profiles aren’t a priority for you the 6160 is the same coffee brew unit without some of the not so useful features and is clearly a better value for the same coffee making capability.

The 6360 overall is fairly user friendly-although I find the profiles for each person a bit confusing to create. This machine rinses ALOT! If you don’t mind, dumping the drip tray and coffee pucks continuously-(basically you get used to the constant daily maintenance). It’s a fantastic coffee system.I always seem to be filling the water container (frustrating)!!I think the way to go is just to get a built in Miele Coffee System and it would make life easier or jump up to the 7750 -(not sure if that would make anything easier)Otherwise-for a modest $2,800 it makes a great product!

As the other reviewer, it is stuck in descaling mode.I have only made 6 coffees. Called customer service and they couldn’t even find the serial number. They were willing to send a service tech, but as the other recent reviewer i was afraid the problem will happen again. For a product this expensive, this is unacceptable. Miele test your products.

The machine had 5 missing accessories (coffee tray cover, pipes, glass container, pods) and the machine wasn’t even working due to an issue with the water tank. Miele support didn’t help me because it was not purchased directly from them so I just returned it.
