Works like a charm!
Installation straight forward; if you’re replacing an existing door knob, drops right it. If door is not true standard, might have to do a little modifying; i had to sand down just a little to get the locking mechanism to slide in smoothly. One note as mentioned in previous reviews, need to be careful when inserting the back cover plate, so the wire doesn’t fall out of the control boards; just make sure the lights on the handle light up before screwing back on the cover plate.Programming was easy-peezy from the app! Will be ordering a second unit!!!

Pretty easy setup and works well; included instructions for installing the lock could be better
I was happy to give this product a try to install on the door to our guest room, in case the guests wanted the extra privacy while staying. I was especially happy to see that this worked with the SmartLife (Tuya) app, as I already use a significant number of smart devices on the platform, which meant that it wouldn’t be another app (and credentials) that I would need to create to use the smart lock. The overall installation of the lock is straightforward, especially if you have experience with lock installations from before. The included instructions (especially the quick start guide – I would say go straight to the manual, as it is much more detailed there) are meh, but I was able to figure out the installation pretty easily; I would say that I had everything done in about 15 minutes or so. One thing that caused a little bit of frustration for me was that the battery cover screw needs a pretty thin screwdriver to get into the narrow hole, which forced me to go get another than the one that I had been using. The wiring is also a little long, so you will have to be a bit mindful of it in wrapping it around the screw holes, but other than that, everything else was pretty straightforward.Once the lock was installed and batteries inserted, the SmartLife app found the device automatically, and I had the lock set up in my app in less than a minute. The default settings are for the lock to auto-lock after 5 seconds, which I changed to just be in an unlocked status at all times (there is “Always Unlock” mode that you can set); I will update this back when we do have guests that want to set up their own privacy code and have the doors auto-lock behind them. You can also lengthen the auto-lock timing to something longer if you find 5 seconds to be too short. The keypad and fingerprints also work as described; the fingerprints are a bit sensitive, so you do want to make sure you are following the instructions in terms of getting all the angles. My main reason for the star off is that I found the keypad to be a bit too difficult in terms of whether I had pressed the number or not. The number buttons are small, and I wasn’t really getting a consistent feeling of whether a number had been pressed or not, leading me to duplicate or miss some numbers while entering in the code. Maybe this is something that I will get used to with time, but given that I am going to be using this with guests as well, I will have to see how others think about the keypad before deciding to keep the lock on.Overall, I am pleased with how the installation went and the functionalities around it, especially in terms of its integration with SmartLife. I wish the keypad was a bit better though, and I will have to see whether it becomes problematic with guests or not.

A Solid Smart Lock with a Few Small Quirks
This Keyless Entry Door Lock with Keypad is a great mix of modern convenience and security, offering four different ways to unlock (fingerprint, keypad, app, and backup keys). Installation is simple, and it fits standard door holes without the need for complicated drillingâthough if your door isnât quite standard, you may need to make some adjustments. The fingerprint scanner is the standout feature, allowing fast, key-free entry, though it can be a bit finicky if your finger placement isnât perfect. The app control is also a nice bonus, especially for generating temporary or one-time passcodes for guests or service providers. Build quality is decent for the price, with a sleek, modern look, though some minor design quirks could be improved. If youâre looking for an affordable smart lock with plenty of features, this is a great value, but keep in mind itâs not quite premium-level.My Rubricâ Good = Qualifies as a selling pointâ So-So = Not great, but also nothing resembling a showstopperâ Not Good = Could be a showstopperMy star ratings, which tend to skew upward due to limitations in the 5-star system, are further elaborated in a decimalized scoring at the end of the review. Finally, although some items have been freely offered via the Vine system, I refuse to sell out and will never allow a vendor to influence my scoring through any means other than the quality of the product, both on its own and in relation to the current pricing at the time of my review. I value the efforts of other honest reviewers and wish nothing more than to pay their efforts forward in hopes of faithfully guiding others to informed decisions. The Goodâ Multiple unlocking options â Fingerprint, keypad, app, and backup keys mean youâll never be locked out.â App control adds flexibility â Generate and share one-time, permanent, or scheduled passcodes for guests or deliveries.â Straightforward installation â Fits standard 2-1/8″ (54mm) door holes and only requires a screwdriver.â Good security features â Anti-peeping code protection, low battery alerts, and a sturdy build add peace of mind.â Affordable for what you get â Offers a lot of features at a budget-friendly price compared to similar smart locks. The So-Soâ Fingerprint scanner isnât perfect â Works well when placed correctly, but can be picky about hand positioning.â Battery compartment is a bit flimsy â The cover is plastic and not as sturdy as the rest of the lock.â The app requires trust â While useful, some people may be wary of app-controlled locks due to privacy concerns. The Not-Goodâ No major issues â Some minor quirks, but nothing thatâs a dealbreaker at this price point. The DetailsThis smart lock offers a lot of convenience for a reasonable price, and Iâve been mostly happy with it. The fingerprint scanner is great when it works, but it takes a little practice to get it right every time. The keypad is responsive, and the app control is a great feature for generating temporary codes.Installation was quick and easy, and it feels secure once in place. The battery cover could be sturdier, and the fingerprint scanner could be a bit more forgiving, but those are small trade-offs for the price. If youâre looking for a budget-friendly smart lock that doesnât require a Wi-Fi hub, this is a solid choiceâjust keep in mind that more premium locks may offer smoother performance.Final Verdictâ Final Rating: 4.5/5 â A feature-packed smart lock with a few quirks, but great value overall.
