Benefits & Use Cases
Safety on stairs is especially critical in homes with children, elderly family members, or pets who may be less steady on their feet. These treads are particularly valuable in areas prone to moisture—such as entryways after rain or outdoor wooden decks during damp seasons—where natural slip resistance diminishes. By adding a layer of reliable traction, they help minimize accidents caused by wet soles or slippery surfaces. Beyond residential settings, they’re well-suited for public buildings like libraries, schools, offices, or community centers where wooden staircases experience regular foot traffic. Their universal compatibility means they can fit most standard wooden steps without modification, offering flexibility across various architectural styles and step sizes. The durable rubber ensures they maintain performance over time, even under frequent use, making them a cost-effective investment in long-term safety.
Installation is intentionally kept simple: once the wooden surface is cleaned of dust or debris, each tread can be placed directly onto the step. This ease of application reduces setup time and avoids the need for professional assistance or complex hardware. Because the product comes as a complete set of 15, it’s suitable for small landings or full staircase installations, depending on user needs. For optimal results, users should ensure that existing coatings or finishes on wooden steps are either removed or confirmed compatible before applying the treads. Regular cleaning of both the tread and the underlying step helps preserve adhesion and extends service life.
Important Notes
It’s essential to note that these treads are specifically engineered for wooden surfaces and may not provide adequate grip or adhere properly on materials such as concrete, metal, tile, or carpeted steps. Using them on incompatible surfaces could compromise safety and reduce product lifespan. Before purchasing, customers should measure their stair count to confirm whether 15 treads will suffice; if additional protection is required, extra sets can be ordered separately. The product is supplied directly by PADOOR, reflecting the brand’s ongoing focus on delivering high-quality solutions backed by customer support. Always refer to the included instructions for proper placement, maintenance, and care guidelines to maximize durability and performance. These treads are not intended for use over permanent, non-removable finishes or sealed wood treatments unless explicitly verified as compatible.

Well made and great grip
I purchased these stair treads for safety. With the rubber backing, they stay in place very well. They are very soft as well and look great. The only thing I did not like was the brown ones I chose tend to have a purple hue to them. Otherwise perfect.

Nice, work great, need months to off-gas smell
I really like these anti-slip stair tread pads. They work better than I expected. You do not have to use any sort of adhesive to stick these down. I laid these down on the steps and have been walking on them for the last couple of days. They are easy to pick up and reposition, or move to clean around or under, but when there is even light pressure on them they do not slip around and move. I feel very secure having my family walk on them. These also look and feel nice. These fit really well on my steps. I was not sure about the look of these when I first looked at them up close because the pattern is just printed on and the rubber is exposed on the sides. However, they look nice on the stairs and I have had comments from others about how nice they look. The 3-year-old laid down and rubbed her face on one the first day because it felt so soft. There is only one real issue with these. And it is a pretty major issue. These smell VERY strongly when you first take them out of the package. I left them to air out in my living room for the first couple of days, but when the smell was too much for me I moved them to a rarely used room in the house to continue to air out. When a family member needed to work in that room a few days later and was overwhelmed by the smell, we moved them out to the garage. They then sat in the garage for the next two months. When I finally brought one into the house to try it out, it was much less offensive, but I could still smell a rubbery smell when holding it. There may be ways to get the smell to dissipate more quickly (washing them in the washing machine/spraying with fabric refreshing spray?), people should be aware of the smell issue when buying these. I would strongly recommend ordering them knowing they may need months to air out.I like these stair tread pads, and can recommend ordering them as long as you have plenty of time to let the smell off-gas.

Pretty but smell too strong
It’s too bad – these are attractive and practical stair treads, but after washing them and two weeks of airing them outside, the rubber smell is still too strong to keep these in the house. The design is nice and they would work well, if only the manufacturer could find a way to produce these so that they don’t smell so strong.

Looks Great
These stair treads are easy to install with no sticky tape. Once laid on the step they do not move which makes it safe for people and pets to climb up and downstairs. Cleans up easily. A great product!

Love the Rubber Backing
I ordered these Padoor non slip stair treads for my back stairs. These are covered and weather protected and would get pretty slippery from the grandchildren going back and forth to the outside. The rubber backing adheres nicely to the steps and do not move around. These are carpet on the top side so they are very attractive and should protect the stairs nicely. It should also prevent the grandkids from slipping down the stairs after coming in from the pool. Inevitably they forget to dry off from the pool before entering the house so the steps used to get really slippery .Would highly recommend these because of their durability and cost! They are really easy to install, just clean the stairs and lay them down!!

Nice look but smelly!
These look great and have stayed on my hardwood stairs perfectly however they have a very strong odor and after about a week, they still have the strong smell.I I think they have price appropriately and my only criticism is this that they smell like chemicals.
