The track is made of lightweight aluminum. It is very compact both in distance off the wall and in its depth from the ceiling. In my case, we were installing a sliding door on a 6’5″ ceiling where the door opening is the same height as the ceiling. This track saved me inches of height compared to a standard track with rollers on top of a metal bar. It included both mounting screws for a metal-framed door and wood screws for the wooden barn door we made. I also like the soft-close runners. While they seemed hard to work when testing the mechanism before mounting, they are perfect for the 26″ x 74″ door we built. A light touch moves the door from one stop to the other, where the soft-close mechanism captures the door and eases it to a stop perfectly with no rebound off the included rubber stopper. The only downside of the soft-close mechanism is that the door must be a minimum of 24″ wide to hold the supports and provide space for the two mechanisms, which extend to the inside of each attachment point. We did have to drill extra holes in the back of the track due to the non-standard stud arrangement. While the kit provides drywall anchors, I was not comfortable with the idea of suspending an 80 lb moving object with 3/8″ drywall anchors. There are also holes in the top of the track so it can be mounted directly to the ceiling. In all it was a very elegant solution for my need.

Would have like it to workâ¦but
Just overall disappointed in this product . Not smooth track. Weak soft close . Terrible installation instructions. Would have gone a different route if Iâd known . Still going to see if I can make it work – but I will probable return it and choose something else. 3/22/2025- tried to install cover plate and I think this finally put me over the edge , couldnât install after messing around and finally getting the install at an acceptable level. Only to find out the final piece (cover) just doesnât go in . Going to return item . Just not working out for me

Good modern looking barn door track kit
I’m planning on installing a barn door to separate our laundry room from our main living space and because of our design, I wanted something that was a little more modern and clean-lined than traditional barn door kits with their exposed rail and rollers. I think that this will do nicely.I’ve not yet installed it, but the aluminum track and valance seems plenty sturdy to hold a heavy door. Ours won’t be anywhere near the 130 lb weight limit, but if you attach this track into studs, I don’t think it’s unreasonable to expect it could hold that kind of weight. The rollers roll smoothly on ball bearings, and I like that the outside of the individual rollers is some sort of hard rubber, which should make them quiet too. I love the fact that it has soft close on both sides.My only nit is that while they include two different kinds of door bottom guides, including one for a hidden groove in the bottom of the door, that requires drilling into your floor to mount. In other situations I’ve used ones that are mounted to the baseboard or door trim because I don’t want to drill into our nice hardwood floors. I’ll be sourcing a different door guide, but I wish that they had included one like that in this otherwise turnkey kit.

Not “barn door” hardware
This isn’t barn door hardware. This is regular closet door hardware for a single door. I don’t even think it can be mounted on the wall as pictured because it’s no strong enough- it would bend under the weight of a light door, even if it’s hollow-core.It does come with a soft close mechanism that work ok.For this kind of hardware its way over priced.
