Product Overview

The ECHOGEAR in-Wall Cable Management Kit is your all-in-one solution for a clean, professional TV setup that eliminates messy cords and exposed wiring. Designed specifically for homeowners and DIY enthusiasts who want to mount their TVs flush against the wall, this kit simplifies cable routing behind drywall by providing everything needed to run power and low-voltage connections through standard wall cavities. With its pre-wired, ETL In-Wall Certified construction, it meets national electrical safety standards while enabling fast, code-compliant installations in 30 minutes or less.

Whether you’re building a home theater, upgrading your gaming station, or just tired of tangled cables under your entertainment center, this kit delivers a seamless integration between your wall-mounted display and connected devices. The included drywall hole saw attachment ensures precise, repeatable cuts every time—no more guessing or damaged drywall. Plus, with every qualifying purchase, ECHOGEAR helps plant trees through its partnership with The Carbon Offset Company, contributing to global reforestation efforts that combat climate change.

Key Features

  • Pre-wired and Power-Ready: This kit arrives fully assembled with integrated wiring, so you don’t need to plan, cut, or guess where cables will go. It’s ETL In-Wall Certified, meaning it complies with U.S. electrical safety codes and can be used safely in residential wall cavities without requiring additional certifications or inspections.
  • Includes Hole Saw Drill Attachment: A custom-designed drywall hole saw is included to create perfectly sized openings in your wall. This tool matches the dimensions of the cable grommet, ensuring a snug fit that prevents dust buildup, reduces wear on wires, and maintains structural integrity in your drywall.
  • Supports Multiple Cable Types: Engineered to handle both high-power and sensitive signal lines, the pass-through accommodates HDMI, Ethernet, optical audio, coaxial, and other common AV cables. It comfortably fits four large braided HDMI cables at once, but remains flexible enough to route extra or smaller-diameter wires as your setup evolves.
  • Fast, No-Hassle Installation: Using only a standard drill (not included), you can complete the entire process—from drilling through the wall to securing the grommet—in under half an hour. No special tools, no complex instructions, just straightforward DIY cable management.
  • Eco-Friendly Impact: When you buy this product, ECHOGEAR donates one tree to reforestation initiatives via The Carbon Offset Company. Since launching this program, they’ve planted over 1 million trees worldwide, turning everyday purchases into meaningful environmental action.

Technical Specifications

  • Certification: ETL In-Wall Certified (meets NEC Article 392 & 400 requirements)
  • Installation Time: 30 minutes or less (DIY with basic drill)
  • Cable Capacity: Accommodates up to 4 large braided HDMI cables; supports mixed use of power, HDMI, Ethernet, audio, and control wires

Benefits & Use Cases

This cable management kit transforms how you think about mounting a TV. Instead of running cords around furniture or letting them dangle behind your screen, everything routes directly through the wall to your media console or receiver. The pre-wired design means there’s no need to fish wires blindly or worry about incorrect lengths—just plug in and go.

Ideal for new builds or retrofits, it works seamlessly with most modern flat-panel mounts that require cable concealment. Whether you’re installing in a living room, bedroom, or game den, the compact grommet slides easily between studs and blends into the wall cavity without compromising aesthetics or performance.

The included hole saw not only makes installation faster but also protects your cables from abrasion and sharp edges inside the wall. Clean cuts reduce strain on connectors and help maintain optimal signal quality—especially important for high-bandwidth HDMI cables carrying 4K video and audio.

Because it’s ETL listed, contractors and homeowners alike can trust it meets rigorous safety standards. There’s no need to call an electrician just to verify compliance—this system is approved for direct in-wall use.

Important Notes

  • A standard drill is required for installation but not included with the kit.
  • Designed exclusively for drywall applications; do not attempt use on concrete, brick, stone, or metal studs without proper adaptation.
  • Tree planting contribution applies only when purchasing eligible top-selling ECHOGEAR products—confirm eligibility during checkout or review product listing details.
  • Ensure adequate space between wall studs (minimum 2.5 inches recommended) to allow full insertion of the cable grommet and sufficient routing room for multiple thick cables.
  • Always turn off power at the breaker before handling electrical connections, even though the kit itself isn’t live until devices are plugged in.

    Great quality. Simple to install.
This is my first in-wall cable management install. And now that I have completed it, I can say that the overall design of this system is excellent! You will need to provide your own electric drill and stud finder, but the kit comes with a high quality hole saw blade. You attach the saw blade to your electric drill to make the two holes necessary for the brackets. When I installed my in-wall cable management kit, I came across a couple of unforseen problems. So I did take me a bit longer than what the website said it would. Since my install was on an outside wall (a load bearing wall), I encountered a 2×4 going across horizontally, which blocked the path for the cables. So I had to patch that hole and drill another hole below the 2×4. But because of the hole-cutting blade, I had the perfect size piece of drywall to patch the first hole and got that taken care of quickly. No biggy – just lost time. Reset the clock. Start over. Cutting the two holes was quick, but then when I tried to pass the cables I found out that there was a metal pipe going through the wall horizontally near the ground. It took some careful threading to get the plug end of the cable bracket to go past the pipe, but it eventually did. I fed the HDMI cables through the wall and through the brackets. Then I snapped them into the wall and added the frame-like ring of plastic to cover the rough edges of the drywall. A word of advice – definitely feed all cables through before snapping the bracket in place. It is easier to fish the cables through the holes in the wall and then feed them through the bracket prior to snapping the bracket into the wall. If not for these two set-backs, it would have been a very simple install that could have been done in less than 30 minutes. The actual cable kit is very easy to work with and install as long as everything goes as planned. The finished product looks great and costs a lot less than paying for an electrician to come out and install a hardwired, in-the-wall bracket. The only difference is you have to use an extension cord, which is provided with the kit. The female end of the extension cord plugs into the bottom bracket and the male end of the extension cord plugs into your regular wall outlet. For me, the extension cord is hidden by my TV console though, so I’m glad I did it myself and didn’t spend a lot of money to have an electrician come out and do it. The final product is a professional looking wall mount system without the expense!

    Professional grade plugs.
It was either this or hire an electrician to run a new outlet for my wall mounted TV. This is a great alternative to hard wiring and is both clean-looking and professional with the UL listing. The length of the wire was more than enough for my needs. I like how other wires like HDMI cable, etc. can also be run through it after it’s installed. The installation took 20-30 minutes. Be careful of other electrical or plumbing in your walls when drilling the hole with the saw they give you.

    Simple Perfection
This device is an easy DIY with professional quality results. The circular saw could be problematic as indicated by other reviews. However, if you drill a pilot hole using a 7/32 bit prior to using the saw, it makes the cut effortlessly in one attempt.I would recommend this to anyone. The result speaks for itself.

    Easy to install!
I like it because the instructions were very clear, and it includes the saw needed to cut the upper and lower holes in the drywall, to ensure a perfect fit for the receptacles that are inserted in the wall. I used this kit to hide the power cord for a 65″ LG TV that I mounted on a wall, along with an HDMI cable for a blue-ray disc player. It is a nice, tidy set-up, and took less than 30 minutes to install…a great kit, even for someone not that handy!

    Pretty simple and attractive solution.
Pretty good. Easy to use. Nice that it comes with a drill bit. One caveat in that if you loosen to add another cable don’t fully undo the screw or the arm can fall into the wall.

    Easy installation
I installed this on an inside wall with no insulation and found it to be a painless install. It’s a great value for the money, and the look of it is professional. I’ve had this for about two years and it functions wonderfully. Very clean look.

The instructions were clear (and written with a sense of humour). This device was quick and easy to install. The only thing I struggled with was pushing the insulation out of the way to run the wires behind the wall because I installed it on an exterior wall. (But in the end I managed without having to remove any insulation.) Some other brands require you to cut a rectangular opening with a drywall saw. I love that this opening is circular and that they include the drill bit to cut the hole.

Just wish it would have been made clear that you need 3 inches of clearance behind the wall for it to fit before buying. Live in a condo where wall studs are smaller than 2×4 so I had to get creative to make it fit. Not sure if echogear makes a slim version for condo walls or not.
