Great keypad ok app.
I am giving this five stars right now where it could also be four stars. So the install is very easy. If you never replaced locks on a door the instructions they give is straight forward. The set-up once they are installed is also very simple and straight forward. I have had these installed for about two weeks. After the first five days when I went to unlock them with the app, it showed them as not connected to the internet. I tried to soft restart them by removing the battery but they never reconnected. I ended up fully factory resetting them and they reconnected and as of now they have been good. Now I do use a mesh wifi and instructions say they need a 2.4 GHz connection. I have other products that say the same and haven’t had any issues with connection, so I hope this was a one time thing. If it happens again, I will create a 2.4 GHz only one and see how that goes. But with all that being said, the physical buttons work fine and the Google home integration works fine too. You need to set a pin for Google to unlock them. But you don’t with the app. Speaking of the app, it’s not bad but does seem to hangup quite a bit. I wondered if the connection issue I had was a problem caused by the app. I have used the app to try and unlock them but sometimes it doesn’t work. When I use Google home to it will work. So again, I think it’s the app that just sometimes doesn’t work. But it is easy to use, to set up pins and users. I do wish there was a notification option on the app to select what type of notifications to receive. If you have the notifications on from your phone settings you will get a ton for every time the door locks or unlock. I wish you could limit those. I would only want notifications for my battery life or lost of connection. Something that I didn’t find in the guide but stumbled on it myself is turning on the backlit for the keypad. In the app setting there is a option to turn the keypad sound off, by doing so you turn the backlight on. So if you have the sound on, there is no backlight. But if you have the sound off, you get backlight. I prefer the backlit option for when it’s dark out. I will mention the backlights only come on when you press a button and doesn’t stay on. Also these do come with a key and it’s easy to rekey a existing one. Unfortunately my keys were to thick to work but I bought two of these for my front and back door, and re-keyed one do them to work for both doors. I will be sure keep this updated to see if there are any more connection issues and how the battery holds up. But I do really likes these and it’s nice to have different options to unlock them.Update 8/24Quick update regarding these locks. I know battery life was estimated at 4-6 months depending on use. I have had both locks with the original batteries over two months and had to replace them already. Now the battery life was at 40% and it would show jammed when closing or opening. I switched out the batteries and that went away. I will see how the new batteries hold up. Otherwise, I still haven’t had any connectivity issues since that one time. I have run into a couple of times where I punch my code in, and nothing happens. I punch it in again then it works. But this has been rare. I will continue to update these as time goes on.

Features are great
This was very easy to install. If you install the app first, it will walk you through with videos and diagrams for every step. The app has worked really well, and I like that I can get notifications when the door is locked/unlocked, or if it encounters a problem. You can also turn on GPS auto-lock and unlock. So when your phone gets more than 100 feet from your front door, it will automatically lock/unlock using the phone’s bluetooth. I’ve been using this feature just for unlocking the door, and it is SWEET!! Also in settings, you can turn on Vacation Mode, which will disable the keypad for safety.I chose this lock because it still uses physical buttons, not a touchscreen, and it has a keyhole for backup. The only thing that’s not awesome, is that whenever it is locking/unlocking without the key, the electronic mechanism is pretty loud. I also had to turn on “Status LED” in order for the buttons on the outside to stay lit up while I’m trying to enter a code. So this also means that inside your house, the lock will blink a green or amber light to show when the lock is engaged or not. A bit irritating that the buttons are not automatically always lit up, and that to turn them on you also have to turn on the intermittent blinking light inside.Overall, I would still happily buy this lock again!

Its slow! And eats batteries fast
Update 6-7 months: this lock is garbage. It continually gets stuck where it will jam up. Like itâs gears are too far to the right. This is being used at a rental in a different country. So not an easy swap. If I could I would have never bought this. Itâs also not backlit. Can be very hard to see at night. It goes through batteries constantly and Iâve checked many times. It has full clearance. And full wifi after adding WAPs in my house. So thatâs not an issue. Disappointing because I use the cheaper KwikSet locks at other properties and they work better than this more expensive one. I wish it could be returned.Original review:So i have used many different wireless Wi-Fi deadbolts on properties over the years. I decided on this product because i wanted to be able to control it from a vacation home. And it matched nicely in Vanician bronze color. The vacation home is in Mexico. If you know anything about Mexico is that every wall is concrete. So getting wifi signal isn’t hard with wireless access points. But i believe it’s part of why this lock loses its battery power so fast. Its too bad too. I have had very good luck with Schlage and Kwikset products in the states. I was hoping this Kwikset Halo would do it. It also says its Jammed many time when it shouldn’t be once it gts downt o about 50% battery. It slides perfectly and does not hit when locking. So i have to recalibrate it and make sure the handing is correct. It seems to need this more than it should. My Schlage at home here, i installed it and was done. This Kwikset needs batteries every 3 months. Its also not backlit. So at night, break out the phone or flashlight to see what the keys are. Kind of dumb. I can only imagine how much faster the battery would die. Overall, i will never buy nor recommend this product. It looks nice, but it runs horribly. I do like the app. Its easy. But This is just my honest review. Here in the states, it may do better where are walls aren’t concrete and doors aren’t solid Caribbean hard wood. But down there, i need to find something that will just work and batteries should last at least 6 months to a year.

Es súper fácil de usar y lo más importante, es que se puede usar desde distancia usando Wi-Fi, el problema que vi , es que aveces no es fácil emparejar con el celular, pero haciendo varios intentos lo logre , me gusto mucho

I did a lot of homework on purchasing this wifi deadbolt and went with the keypad over the touchpad. I was hesitant as quite a few reviews indicated poor wifi connection and long updates and some other issues. My experience being quite handy and installing for an existing keyed deadbolt is that it was simple, user friendly instructions to install, installed quite easy and straight forward and had absolutely no issue to connect direct by bluetooth to set up wifi connection and the perfectly smooth to hook to wifi and get the firmware update in a reasonable amount of time.My eyes will be on battery consumption as we go forward but if i have to change batteries every month so be it, not a big deal compared to the function of the unit itself and its app that shows every entry and easy to monitor and program for up to 250 diff user codes. Also has the ability to set up a timer for a one-time-use code which is handy if a contractor needs to come and i cannot be around to meet etc. I liked that feature that i was unaware it even had!So, in conclusion at this time of having it installed and operating for just ONE week so far, its a great unit!!
