Yes! You can turn on Rhythm Scenes to see your Lines dance to music and sounds, and can use the Screen Mirror feature through the Nanoleaf Desktop App.
How are Lines mounted to the wall? Are they easy to dismount?
Simply mount your Lines with the attached double-sided mounting tape onto any smooth and flat surface. To dismount, remove the Connectors, and then gently pull the end of Mounting Tape along the wall until fully removed.
Are Nanoleaf lights waterproof?
No, Nanoleaf products are NOT waterproof or water resistant. Our lights and adhesives are not designed to be exposed to high levels of humidity, and are therefore not recommended to be placed in washrooms, near the sink in kitchens, or outdoors.
What is the difference between a Smarter Kit and an Expansion Pack?
Every Nanoleaf Smarter Kit has everything you need to set up the lights. It includes a Controller and a Power Supply unlike Nanoleaf Expansion Packs. An Expansion Pack is an addition to a Smarter Kit which cannot be used without owning a Smarter Kit.
What is the maximum number of Lines I can have in one layout?
You can have up to 18 Lines on a single Power Supply. Use the Power Supply calculator on Nanoleaf website for the exact number of PSUs needed for your layout. You can connect up to 250 Lines in one layout and control them all with one Controller Cap.

Coolest lights ever– Nanoleaf is the way to go
Nanoleaf is the OG of the lights game and nothing I have ever bought from them has failed me, as long as you read the instructions and do it correctly. The image is of this product plus one 3-lightbar expansion pack, following one of the recommended designs… and it looks extremely cool.The app is intuitive and functional, the lights themselves are easy to install (way easier than the hex lights (of which I have 25 & 7) to install and add on to), and the possibilities seem endless. My favorite function is the “make your own scene,” where you can customize your own color schemes, music receptiveness, and flows/movements of color!I should mention that the pairing can be pretty glitchy, but once the lights are paired, there are no more issues. With all of the lights I’ve had over the years, there has always been some sort of connection issue that required troubleshooting, but nothing someone that is moderately determined can’t push through.GET THE LIGHTS if you can, they completely redesign a whole room and are the coolest thing to happen to modern lighting!!

Not my first rodeo
I have nano leaf triangles, hexagons, and now the lines. I canât get enough of these to add designs to every bedroom in my house. Theyâre stylish, creative and modern. Everyone loves them, and I love that theyâre expandable. I think these are much brighter than the other packs.

Cheap crap
My experience with this product has been frustrating at best. Pairing with it is nearly impossible, the hardware fails and has to be replaced, it has to be reset constantly, and the updates cause issues. Itâs just an awful mess.

Stunning and versatile standalone lighting piece, limited connectivity, and hard to install.
These lines are my favorite piece of decor in my house. But you should know a few things before you buy in!Pros:Bright and diffuse light, sufficient to light a whole small room in any color.Physical switch on the installation allows fast and easy control – turn off/on, adjust brightness, change scenes, and even turn the music sync on/off.Enough lines and anchors to build a decently sized installation.Long enough power cord to hide it effectively.The app allows you to set up and configure the layout, so if you choose colored light scenes they make *sense* on the shape you installed.Once scenes are downloaded to the device, the smart switch lets you toggle between them.The wall anchor plates allow the device to be installed securely and give me confidence that I’ll be able to take this piece down, move, and reinstall it in another apartment if necessary.The Nanoleaf app is brilliant in some ways and terrible in others. It has a ton of variety for designing the color treatment of the lines, and it takes in to account the size and layout of the installation when you do. It also has a lot of pleasing pre-made scenes to choose from. The lines at least respond to the app fairly quickly. However, there are a limited number of scenes you can add to this device, so if you change them often be mindful.The snap-in method is fast and clever. However, it has some necessary wriggle room. Be mindful with installing your device to not let the joints sag, or your installation will not have straight lines.Cons:Having this device DOES NOT enable advanced usage of Nanoleaf Essentials devices. This device is a thread border router, and though this device can be scheduled and responds to the nanoleaf desktop app, it does not make it so that other items in the nanoleaf family can as well. This is not clearly stated in their documents.The desktop app rarely works for me, so “screen matching” is unavailable to me.The anchor plates can be attached to a wall with appropriate anchors. The plate does not accept a flat-headed screw, but there is too little headroom (between the plate and the interior circuit board of the anchor) to admit 2 button-headed screws. You must either only use one and position it carefully within the anchor, or use very small screws.reason for the bad adhesion rating:I was unable to stick the device to the wall using adhesive alone. I installed the device on a clean, dry interior wall after spot-cleaning each installation point very gently with a mild detergent. After a few weeks, most of the adhesive had come untacked from the wall. I wound up using drywall anchors for 3 of the 8 anchors to support the primary weight of the installation, and 3M command strips for the rest.Though I was able to install a pleasing geometric shape in the end, it took a lot of careful planning, measuring, checking, and rechecking before installing drywall anchors. If you go this route, be prepared for a lot of math.

Plan your pattern out first
I ended up getting two of these starter kits in order to make an 18 segment design. I love the control you have over them, they work great, and look super coolThe only problem is the auto-brightness doesn’t work and Nanoleaf has yet to send me the replacement despite telling me they were several months ago. But whatever, auto-brightness isn’t a huge deal

Nanoleaf is one of the best brands for native HomeKit support in my opinion. These are a unique decoration that are fully supported by HomeKit. Setup took a few extra minutes for the very first install, but after you do it once, it is a breeze. Yes, it is a little pricey, but you get what you pay for in my opinion. I only had one issue out of the box, and that had to do with one part of the brackets. The very last line that I was installing wouldnât light up properly. It would just glow a very faint white while the others were playing a native Nanoleaf scene. This was confusing. So I swapped that line with another that was playing properly, and that one turned to the same faint white. So I decided to change the angle to the one below that, and it worked fine. Iâm guessing there was a flaw in the particular connecting angle that was originally chosen. But it is working fine now.
