Product Overview
The Antdle Stair Treads Carpet Set offers a smart, safe, and stylish solution for protecting and enhancing your indoor wooden stairs. Designed with both functionality and everyday convenience in mind, this set includes 16 durable, pre-cut treads that fit most standard indoor staircase steps. Whether you’re navigating the stairs with children, pets, or during daily routines, these self-adhesive stair mats provide essential slip resistance, reduce foot fatigue, and help preserve the beauty of your hardwood flooring. With their machine-washable surface and easy installation, they’re as practical to maintain as they are effective in use.
Key Features
- Durable Non-Slip Backing: Each tread features a skid-resistant fiber bottom that firmly adheres to wooden stairs without requiring additional rug grippers. This ensures reliable grip underfoot, significantly reducing the risk of slips—especially important for homes with young children, elderly family members, or active pets.
- Anti-Fatigue Comfort Surface: Constructed from soft yet wear-resisting polypropylene fiber, the carpeted top layer cushions each step, offering comfort during frequent stair use. This feature helps minimize foot strain and enhances overall walking experience on high-traffic steps.
- Noise Reduction Technology: Engineered with special sound-absorbing materials, these treads dramatically cut down on the noise typically generated by footsteps. Independent tests show up to an 80% reduction in stair noise, making them ideal for multi-level homes where quiet living is valued.
- Double Stripe Bump Design: The textured surface not only improves traction but also naturally traps dust, dirt, and debris, helping keep your stairs cleaner over time. The raised pattern adds visual interest while maintaining practical benefits.
- Self-Adhesive & Easy Installation: Simply clean your stair surface thoroughly, peel off the backing, and press each tread into place. No tools, nails, or extra adhesives are needed. They adhere securely right away and stay put through regular use.
- Customizable Fit: While each piece measures 8” x 30”—perfect for most indoor steps—the material can be easily trimmed with scissors to accommodate unique stair shapes or smaller landings.
Technical Specifications

Benefits & Use Cases
These stair treads are especially beneficial in high-use household environments such as family homes with kids, seniors, or pets who frequently move between floors. The combination of cushioning and anti-slip properties makes them a valuable safety upgrade, particularly on smooth or polished wood surfaces where falls can occur more easily. Beyond safety, the noise-reducing capability creates a calmer home atmosphere by minimizing the clatter of footsteps—a thoughtful touch for early mornings, late evenings, or shared living spaces.
In addition to improving comfort and reducing noise, these treads actively protect your staircase from everyday wear and tear. Hardwood steps are prone to scuffing, scratches, and dullness from constant contact with shoes and paws. By placing these mats directly on each step, you shield the underlying finish while adding a layer of warmth and texture. The design also complements modern interior aesthetics with its rich brown hue and subtle metallic threading that adds a hint of sophistication.
Installation is straightforward: just ensure the stair surface is clean, dry, and free of dust before applying. Once in place, the treads conform neatly to the shape of each step. If your staircase has unusual dimensions or non-standard spacing, the included number and cut-to-fit flexibility allow for custom adjustments without compromising performance.
Important Notes
- Upon first opening, the treads may emit a mild chemical odor. This is normal due to manufacturing processes and will dissipate after airing out outdoors for approximately 24 hours.
- To preserve adhesive strength and longevity, avoid using hot water when washing. Warm or cold water is recommended.
- Do not use harsh cleaning agents such as acidic or alkaline detergents—they can accelerate material aging and weaken both texture and adhesion over time.
- Due to variations in photography lighting, screen calibration, and printing differences, actual color tone and metallic shimmer may differ slightly from images shown online.
- There may be up to a 1% variance in measured size compared to listed dimensions. This is within acceptable manufacturing tolerance and does not affect functionality.
- For optimal adhesion, ensure stair edges and surfaces are completely dry and free of oils, wax, or residue before application.

A great investment for any home with kids, animals, elderly or all three!
We LOVE these (and my husband didn’t even want them at all)! With 8 cats and a dog in a 3 story home, the stairs take a lot of abuse. Our dog has torn both her ACL’s in the last two years and after $10,000 in knee surgeries, I am all for anything that will help prevent future injuries! We have had previous dogs struggle with our stairs as they aged but my husband would never cave in and agree to putting something on the treads. We love our hardwood floors and he refused to “cover them up”. After our current dog’s last knee surgery (she is a pitbull mix and her injuries were a result of crazy play and zoomies, not our stairs), I decided to take matters into my own hands. I discovered these treads and was impressed with the reviews so I ordered them and put them on the stairs while my husband was out of town. He only used them once himself and saw both the dog and one of our cats (an 18 year old) use them and he loved them! Here are the pros and cons we have noticed:Pros:-The color is wonderful (see attached pic)! It blends nicely with our hardwood floors and doesn’t show dirt (for those days when my husband doesn’t remove his shoes when he should have).-It only took about 48 hours for them to lay flat (because of how they are packaged for shipping).-They truly do not slide around! The company includes a double sided tape and a brush (for cleaning). I didn’t want to use their tape so I just laid these on our stairs. They slid around a bit initially until they “relaxed” and laid flat. Since then, they have not moved from normal use (over a 3 week test period). They HAVE moved from our cats’ nails catching when they needed a nail trim. It isn’t so much of a slide as it is the cats freak out when their nail gets stuck & they flip part of the tread over. Often, it falls right back in place.-I was able to secure them quite easily with the removable Command Picture Hanging Strips (velcro type) by putting one on each short end (just 2 hangers per tread). This was purely for the sake of our cats! They are rescues, some having suffered terrible abuse in their past. They are the hardest when it comes to trimming their nails & are also the ones to freak out the most if their nail gets stuck. After one of them got stuck, freaked out and then hid under the bed for nearly 8 hours (her history would horrify you), I decided to secure the treads so her nail couldn’t pull the whole tread up and scare her so badly. It worked, no issues since!-I have cleaned them quite easily with the pet attachment on my Shark vacuum. Honestly, I have not tried the brush they sent with the treads. With 8 cats and a dog, I vacuum every other day, if not daily, so it is easier for me to just use my vacuum.-The treads are not showing any wear yet, even with all the sweeping!-They are comfortable to bare feet and are not slippery (like some carpet type treads can be) at all if running up and down them in socks.Cons:-Our cats’ nails will catch occasionally if they need nail trims. This sometimes results in one side of the tread flipping over.-For the sake of a couple of our previously abused rescue cats, I secured the short edge of each tread. I did not use the included two sided tape so I cannot review its effectiveness. I went to my “go to” for our area rugs; removable, Command Picture Hanging Strips (velcro type). Holds great, easy to apply and has not damaged our floors in the four years I have used it for area rugs.In summary, these are a great investment to protect both our stairs AND our animals (from injuries sustained while navigating the stairs as they age). Our elderly relatives have also voiced their appreciation and approval of adding these to both of the staircases. They blend nicely and are proving to be quite durable!

Better than Expected
Although these do not have an adhesive on the back, tape is included but I am renting so want to avoid using the tape not wanting to pull off the paint, but the rubber itself will relax and stick to the wood treads and unless you move them with your foot or hands, they basically stay in place on their own. I like the look of them better than I thought I would. My rental treads are a chocolate brown so brown it was to be and they do dress the staircase up a bit as well. The quality is good and I am glad that there is no binding, seam, or sewn on edging because they will just fray or catch the vacuum. I use a stick vac in hand cleaning setup. The pads catch and release dirt and any debris easily. I do feel that my family and my pet are safer using the staircase with these pads on the treads and they provide some padding so using the stairs is easier on the feet. Good product. I would buy again and recommend. No need to pay more for others unless you just want a pattern or special color. They even seem like they would work on a deck or boat.

Treads work well overall, but adhesive could be better and packaging caused creases
These stair treads have good traction and work well enough. They should have been packaged in a longer and thinner box so they wouldn’t have needed to be folded, because the treads have creases caused by being folded. The creases would not flatten even after applying pressure and carefully stretching the treads when I placed them on the stairs. After a week with the creases still being there, I used a heavy-duty stapler with 1/2″ staples to flatten the creases and fully secure the treads to the stairs.I also wish the adhesive was stronger. It is very easy to pick up the treads after placing them down, and though they seem to stay in place when tested normally, I wonder if the treads could slide when someone is carrying heavy furniture down the stairs. That, in addition to the problem of the creases, was why I stapled the treads to the stairs.

Easy temporary solution
So we obviously need to paint our hallway and staircase, but weâre not going to be able to get to it right away. But we have this 13 year old female dog who we adore. She has arthritis and already takes medication for it. Well recently she fell down these very same wooden stairs and I know sheâs hurting, so rather than installing carpet and painting I purchased these! They are definitely temporary. I have not washed them or vacuumed them yet. However they were easy to install, the rubbery backing is protected by a film you can easily peel off, I swept the stairs and wiped them down with a damp rag like the directions recommended and think it looks pretty good considering, and I really think this will help our old lady grip with her paws easier! UPDATE the strips vacuum great! They are still in place weeks later!

I had to pay £18 to get these shipped from the US to the UK via Amazon Global but was well worth it. These are excellent against my dark wood stairs. The pictures show white flecks in the wool but this is not the case. These are pretty much solid colour which is great. Really helps my dog get up and down the stairs and means the wood doesn’t get damaged by his claws.

great product for my geriatric dog. They are a little short for our steps but overall are doing the trick for both the dog and for us two legged.
