Easy and nice for our basement steps
We bought these for our plain, wooden basement stairs. The reviews were good and so was the price. These were very easy to install, there is a little piece of plastic that sticks out so you can easily pull the backing off to expose the sticky back. I measured each step and put a little dot where I wanted to start the runner, then I peeled off about 1/4 of the backing and started putting it down (that way I didn’t expose the entire backing while installing). I pushed down and then continued removing the remainder of the backing. The corners didn’t stick as well on a few but after a few days, the corners and the middle flattened completely and it’s been a couple weeks and they look great and continue to remain stuck the floor. I did wipe down each step as instructed and let them dry before installing. These are great for basements, nothing fancy but definitely better than wood and they look pretty good for the price.

Easy to install, good traction ; pet-hair magnets
Bought these for our basement stairs as a carpet runner was going to be 10x more expensive. To keep it short, they have good traction, they hold to the step, they were very easy to install, and they look pretty good. Our only real complaint is that they are RIDICULOUS pet hair magnets if you’ve got animals in your home… you can hardly tell ours are black within a day or two of us cleaning them.Overall, still definitely recommend if you’re trying not to spend a fortune on a carpet runner.

Purchase this item because we just moved into a new house and my German Shepherd slides on the stuff so sheâs trying to come upstairs. Hopefully these will help her not end up hurting herself. They do not stick to the ground. They have a nonslip material on the back of them. Most likely I will be purchasing double-sided tape or a different adhesive to get them to stay on the floor. They came in the box bent in half so they are lifted in the middle. Wish they wouldâve sent them in a flat box.

Update: the company was kind enough to refund these for me (and didn’t ask that I alter the review) after seeing the issues I had with them. If nothing else you can buy these knowing the company may back you up if you have any problems.Because of the way these are folded in the box, they do not stay down on their own. We had to buy adhesive tape to put under them when it was clear the middle lifting up was going to be a clear trip hazard.

The price cannot be beat. The directions were clear. Simply wipe down the steps with water, let dry, peal and stick. They look really good and stick without being sticky. Only thing that would have made them better is if they were a tad more plush.

I donât normally write reviews and in fact I think this is my first. But I am sure there are other dog lovers out there dealing with the same issues and I think this solution can be life changing for them.A few years ago I finally had the builderâs carpet removed from the stairs and refinished them in a stained hardwood. Beautiful, though a bit slippery. My then-younger dogs handled them though.In the past few months, these stairs have become treacherous for two of my now-senior dogs, both of whom had falls on the stairs from sliding. The little dog wonât go up the stairs, so I have been carrying him up for the past six months. The bigger dog has been sliding and falling down the stairs, which is a nightmare.Iâve been looking for solutions. Finally saw these adhesive treads and ordered them Friday. By Saturday, they were in place.The dogs (and I) literally found new freedom as a result. Immediately, the little dog made it upstairs on his own for the first time in months. And the bigger one has so much more stay on the way down.My biggest worry had been whether the treads would stay in place, as the last thing I want is loose tripping hazards on the stairs. But the adhesive is absolutely the perfect strength.I think the key thing here is to have a clean and dry surface for the tread to stick to. I vacuumed each stair, wiped it with a diluted cleaning solution, and dried it totally with a clean rag prior to applying the tread. It is perfect. The treads wonât be going anywhere until I peel them off.Iâm ordering another set for the basement stairs today. Those stairs arenât quite as slippery but I think the treads are going to make my dogs – and therefore me – more comfortable nevertheless. And Iâll have some replacement treads left over in case I need to replace some. They are soft and look pretty nice, although my main motive was safety and function.Totally worth the money for me and my pups!

Very happy with this purchase! We have a dog who is a total wimp on hardwood, so hardwood stairs are a nightmare. Sadly, he still whines going up and down the stairs, but thanks to these he has not slipped once, and they really stick well. The seem to peel up fine so far (we’re renting to I check them now and again to ensure there’s no damage); haven’t cleaned them yet, doubt I will as I have a feeling the stickiness will lessen if it gets wet, so I’ll opt to vacuum them instead. But they look nice and do the trick! Def recommend 🙂
