Engineered for both indoor elegance and outdoor resilience, this fan is built to enhance comfort without compromising style. Its sleek flat white finish and matching blades create a clean, timeless aesthetic that blends seamlessly into living rooms, bedrooms, or covered patios. With an included six-speed handheld remote offering full-range dimming, forward/reverse functionality, and intuitive controls, you can adjust airflow and lighting from anywhere in the room. Whether you’re cooling down on a summer evening or circulating warm air during winter months, this ceiling fan adapts effortlessly to your needs.
Designed with versatility in mind, the fan’s wet-rated construction allows safe installation in damp environments such as bathrooms, sunrooms, or partially shaded outdoor spaces—making it a reliable choice beyond standard indoor ceilings. The reversible DC motor operates quietly and efficiently across six speeds, helping maintain consistent comfort while reducing energy consumption year-round. While no light fixture is included, the fan is compatible with the custom 20W LED Light Kit (model K9787L), which must be purchased separately to enable lighting features.
Minka-Aire emphasizes user convenience through multiple control options: the included RC400 remote provides wireless operation, while optional accessories like the WC400 wall control unit offer hardwired alternatives. For smart home integration with Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant, simply add the Bond BD-1000 hub (sold separately). Customers consistently note how quietly the fan runs, contributing to peaceful, restful environments ideal for sleeping or relaxing.
Key Features
- Sleek and Simple Design: The fan’s minimalist profile features three matching flat white blades set against a coordinating canopy and motor housing. This cohesive look complements both contemporary and traditional interiors, making it a versatile centerpiece for any space.
- Customizable Lighting System: No bulb is included; instead, the fan works exclusively with the dedicated 20W LED Light Kit (K9787L), allowing precise brightness adjustment and long-lasting illumination when paired.

Benefits & Use Cases
This ceiling fan excels in environments where silent operation and reliable airflow are priorities. Its reversible motor ensures optimal performance year-round: in warm weather, it circulates cool breezes to enhance AC effectiveness; in cooler months, reversing the blade direction helps distribute heated air trapped near the ceiling, reducing reliance on central heating and lowering energy bills.
The included RC400 remote puts full control at your fingertips—adjust fan speed, toggle between summer and winter modes, and dim or brighten lights without getting up. This is especially valuable in bedrooms, where minimizing noise and maintaining comfort overnight is essential. Users frequently highlight the fan’s near-silent operation as a standout feature, noting it runs so quietly it’s barely noticeable during daily activities or sleep.
With its flat white finish and simple lines, the fan pairs beautifully with neutral or modern décor schemes. It’s suitable for installation in living rooms, master bedrooms, home offices, or covered outdoor lounges. Thanks to its wet rating, it’s also a practical solution for bathrooms or screened porches where humidity and moisture are common.
For those seeking added convenience, the optional WC400 wall control replaces or supplements the remote, while the Bond BD-1000 hub unlocks voice-activated commands through major smart assistants. These upgrades expand usability without altering the fan’s core design or performance.
Important Notes
- No Light Fixture Included: To activate the lighting function, you must purchase the compatible 20W LED Light Kit (model K9787L) separately. Do not attempt to install non-compatible bulbs.
- Downrod Length Fixed: Only a 6-inch downrod is provided for standard ceiling mounting. Additional lengths are not specified as available, so ensure your ceiling height accommodates this dimension prior to ordering.
- Smart Home Requires Hub: Voice control via Alexa or Google Home necessitates the addition of the Bond BD-1000 smart hub, which is sold independently.
- Wall Control Is Optional: The WC400 wall-mounted switch can be installed if you prefer wired operation over or in addition to the included remote.
- Customer Feedback Highlights Quiet Operation: Many buyers report exceptionally low noise levels, emphasizing how the fan contributes to a calm, undisturbed environment.

Name says it all
The Minka Simple fan is just what it says, Simple. So many fans out there are, for lack of a better word, junky and old-fashioned looking, even when they try to be contemporary. This fan on the other hand is elegant and truly minimalist. This does not mean, however, it isn’t functional. This thing really moves air. I bought the 44″ blade size, installed it on a 9′ sloped ceiling, in a 12 x 12 room. Even Minka said get the 52″ for this size room, but I wanted less fan on my ceiling, so I got the smaller size. Was worried it wouldn’t move enough air. I worried for nothing. This thing moves a ton of air, even at medium speed. Having said this, if you’re in a super hot climate(I’m not), probably go 52″ for this size room. What else? The included 6″ downrod was perfect for my ceiling height. I like the white color, disappeared into the white ceiling. I like the remote control with 6 variable speeds. I like the reverse function on the remote control for counterclockwise motion. Despite what you may read in some other reviews, I think the DC motor is very quiet. Yes, there’s a little bit of “whoop whoop” at high speed due to the design of the fan blades, but it is still quiet in my opinion. I bought the WC400 wall control as well, didn’t really need it but it looks cool. Also bought the light kit: K9787 – WHF(this is the color code for a white fan). Didn’t need it for this fan, but planning on buying a couple more and will install light where necessary. Don’t forget the slope adapter: A245 – WHF(this is the color code for a white fan) if you have any kind of sloped ceiling.

Great fan!
I was pleasantly surprised by how much I like this fan. It’s modern, attractive and quiet even at the highest setting. Nor does it shake. And it moves the air well. I would buy it again for sure.

Silent relief
This is a beautiful, simple, streamlined design and operates silently! It makes a small whirr on the highest setting but not a peep on levels 1-4.I had an electrician install it with no problem. The only thing that is surprisingly poorly designed is the remote. It’s usable but is possible the worst design I’ve come across in a remote.

Small Fan – Big Air Movement
A very modern fan perfect size for a long but narrow Florida lanai (20 feet by 8 feet). The 44â fan with a 12â down-rod worked out well on a 10â ceiling. Wasnât sure about the three blade fan (more familiar with fans having five blades) but it is so slick looking and so much less intrusive. The wet rated fan was a âmustâ given the environment the fan is mounted in.

Great Fan but installation not fun
The fans have been in for a week and are working fine: smooth, quiet, and moving air. The only complaint I have is about the installation instructions. The instructions are incomplete. There are parts that one must use but those parts are never mentioned anywhere in the installation instructions. Also, there are figures in the installation instructions that are never referenced in the text. Of greatest concern, however, is a rubber cover on one part that covers two holes and the instructions require you to attach another part to those holes. Do you cut holes in the rubber to accomplish the attachment or do you remove the rubber? Who knows? I contacted the manufacturer’s help line and, after 20 minutes wait, a person answered and apparently accidentally hung up on me. So I took photos of the issue and sent the photos and an explanation to them via email. As of this writing, I have not received any response. So I say, “WING IT”. I completely removed the rubber part and it all works fine for now.

Very Nice Minimalist Fan
Great looks, seems like excellent quality, quiet, moves plenty of air even on lowest setting. Probably a pretty easy install on flat ceiling. Ours are heavily angled so install was far from easy. The “remote” receiver sits up with the wiring and I had to shim things and bend things to get it to sit properly. If not for that this would 5’s across the board. Hope they last!

Will NOT WORK with wall switch
Because of strange design/engineering flaw, this fan WILL NOT WORK with a wall switch. It will also NOT work with a wall light switch. This fan is designed to work ONLY with the provided remote. If you use smart WIFI wall fan switches (we use Treatlife, which are excellent), the fan WILL NOT WORK.They designed this fan with a separate, inline remote receiver box. Unlike other, similar designs, this box has BLK-WHT-Neutral input only, and eight or so propriety wires for output. The unfortunate consequences of this terrible engineering decision are:(1) Lights. The inline receiver box only has three wires (black, white, green). There is no light input wire (red). Lights can ONLY be controlled by the remote. No other way. If you have a smart WIFI fan/light switch, it will NOT control the light.(2) Fan. The inline receiver box can be connected to fan control wires (black, white) leading to a smart wall switch. HOWEVER, the inline receiver box does NOT “remember” its setting if it loses power. This means that when you turn the fan off at the smart WIFI wall switch, it goes off as intended. But when you flip the fan switch back on, the inline receiver defaults to the “off” position, and the fan does not start. In other words, “off” works fine, but “on” requires the remote control. I’ve tested this repeatedly, and verified every connection.Honestly, these are simply questionable – even poor – engineering decisions. Smart WIFI wall switches are gaining in popularity, and an increasing number of people have them in their whole house. As a result, we have wasted two days of effort, and will be returning $2400 worth of fans.Edit: If you are running into similar fan selection issues, what we finally did is watched installation videos on YT to see how the remote receiver was wired. If you see the same number of wires on both input/output, you are good. If you see MORE wires coming out than going in, then you may have trouble. Particularly if one of the wires is grey.
