Product Overview
The ZINUS 6 Inch Foam and Spring Hybrid Mattress delivers a thoughtfully engineered sleep experience designed to support restorative rest. With dimensions of 75 inches by 30 inches, this single-sized mattress offers a streamlined profile ideal for individuals or children’s rooms, guest spaces, or compact bedrooms where space is at a premium. Despite its modest 6-inch thickness, the mattress combines high-density foam with responsive spring coils to create a balanced surface that supports natural spinal alignment while providing enough cushioning for pressure relief.
What sets this hybrid design apart is its dual-layer construction: a supportive base layer reinforced with patented iCoil technology paired with contouring foam layers infused with green tea extract. This combination not only enhances durability but also contributes to a fresher-smelling sleeping environment over time. Every component has been selected with care—Certi-PUR US® certified foams ensure peace of mind regarding indoor air quality and chemical safety, making it suitable even for those sensitive to off-gassing from new mattresses.
Arriving flat-packed in a single vacuum-sealed box, the mattress unfolds effortlessly upon unpacking and typically reaches full height within hours. No special tools or professional assembly are required—just remove the protective wrap, position it on your bed frame, and let it expand completely before use. Backed by a decade-long limited warranty, the ZINUS hybrid mattress aims to deliver reliable performance year after year.

Benefits & Use Cases
This mattress excels in situations where both support and comfort are priorities without the bulk of thicker models. Its medium-firm feel appeals to back and stomach sleepers who need consistent lumbar support, as well as lighter-weight side sleepers seeking gentle contouring around hips and shoulders. The hybrid structure distributes weight evenly, reducing localized sinking that can occur with all-foam alternatives.
Because of its slim profile and lightweight nature, the ZINUS 6” hybrid is compatible with most standard bed frames, including platform beds, bunk beds, daybeds, and children’s furniture. It performs well on slatted bases with spacing under 2 inches, though it may require a thin plywood topper if your frame lacks adequate firmness support. Users frequently highlight how straightforward the setup process is—simply unpack, roll out, and watch it regain shape naturally. Many report waking up feeling more rested compared to previous memory foam mattresses, particularly due to improved airflow and reduced heat retention.
While primarily intended for personal use rather than couples sharing a queen or king size, its motion isolation capabilities make it a reasonable choice for co-sleeping families—though some may notice coil sounds during repositioning. Overall, this mattress strikes a practical balance between affordability, ease of use, and functional performance, making it especially attractive for college students, first-time renters, or anyone upgrading from an old innerspring unit.
Important Notes
A few considerations may help set realistic expectations. Some users have reported audible squeaking or creaking from the coils when shifting positions—this is often more noticeable during the initial weeks and may diminish as the mattress settles. Firmness perception can vary slightly between individuals based on body weight and preferred sleeping style; heavier individuals might find it slightly softer than expected, while lighter users could perceive it as firmer. A mild, temporary odor common to new polyurethane foams usually dissipates within two days when placed in a well-ventilated room. Ensure the mattress has ample airflow during expansion and avoid covering it with thick bedding until fully aired out.
Please note that this product is designed exclusively for indoor residential use. Do not expose it to moisture, direct sunlight, or extreme temperatures during or after unpacking. Placing it on a non-breathable plastic sheet without ventilation may trap humidity and delay odor dissipation. Also, while durable, the 6-inch profile isn’t recommended for elderly individuals who require extra support or for pets that may jump onto the bed, as the thinner design offers less impact absorption.

Boing, boing, boing!
My five-year old was using my old college mattress (itself a floor model) and it needed to be replaced. I needed something to last him another 5-10 years, until he could get another twin XL – this mattress fit the bill. Our mattress is a hybrid, but premium, with layers between the springs and memory foam. This is *technically* a hybrid, but I would consider it a spring mattress. It does have significant give – it’s very soft. It is also very bouncing. While roughhousing, I dropped my son the bed and he bounced a good 8-9 inches back up! He loves it!One night, my wife or I will take a turn sleeping on it. This is acceptable a kid’s bedroom. Maybe a guest room if on a budget.

Excellent mattress for the price!
Delivery team was courteous, respectful, and prompt. Installation wasnât that difficult. We got the 10 inch for our Murphy bed and added a 2 inch cooling topper and it fits perfectly! Even without the topper, the bed is surprisingly comfortable. Guests have stated that it feels plush, but not too plush yet. Still firm enough to support back shoulder and neck issues. Highly recommend.

Zinus mattress, Full Size
Oh my goodness! I am so pleased with this mattress! I got it early, which was nice. It was delivered by UPS,and I am grateful that they were good enough to bring it to the top step outside my front door. It was raining, but it was well packaged. I got it upstairs ( no easy fete, as I’m 5 ft 2 and am slightly older- don’t ask! ð ) I noticed on the outside of the box that the mattress should be unpacked within 72 hours ( for proper inflation, I think? ) I’d bought a twin in this brand before, but hadn’t noticed that piece of information. The twin, BTW, was also a great purchase. Some reviews aren’t as favorable as mine, and I wonder if that piece of unpacking info might be a factor. It’s a good idea, regardless. In any event, this mattress will be left for proper and full inflation before I put it on the bed (that’s due, tomorrow.) Hopefully that will be reviewed as favorably as this mattress. This mattress is just the right firmness and is soft to the touch. It is a very nice product, and I am so glad I bought it. I definitely recommend it! ( make sure you pay attention to that 72 hour caveat, though. I don’t think they would include it if it didn’t matter. ) The funny little warning advisory was appreciated, too. ” Hand this to the responsible one… It knows Kung Fu.” I have quick reflexes, as well, so… ð The price point was excellent, too. Very much appreciated! UPDATE: I’ve had this for a bit and unfortunately, my initial enthusiasm has lessened. Still a nice enough mattress, but has minimal side support. I’m going to put it in my second bedroom on the bed I also got from Amazon ( too masculine ) and have ordered a fuller and hopefully a firmer mattress. This was a 10 inch, and that was my mistake. In order to get the height, I ended up buying a 3 inch memory foam and two ( supposedly ) 4 inch mattress toppers. All in, they might equal the 12 inch that I finally ordered. Zinus is a good product, but if you want better side supports and a taller mattress, order one from the start. It turned out to be an expensive lesson.

READ BEFORE YOU BUY
Today is 5/3/2024. I purchased the Zinus 10″ Foam and Spring Mattress on 5/23/2024. I probably got it a few days later. My point is, it has not even been a full year since I purchased and began using this mattress. At first, everything seemed ok. I figured that there were so many reviews, so this probably was a good buy. WRONG. Things were fine for the first three-four months. Then the springs would SPROING! every so often while I was laying in bed. It’s pretty disturbing when that happens- it’s kind of a jolt! I also want to mention that I am a rotater and a flipper. Every month I rotate, and then next time I flip and do the same again. This is to prevent sagging in the one area I seem to only sleep in. So, the sproinging started up, and that was bothersome, but not terribly so to make me actually do anything about it. But a few months later, the sagging really started to be noticeable. Like, I could feel myself rolling down into the pit of sagging despair. It wasn’t just on the one side, it was on all the sides. I think this might be the foam degrading- which it shouldn’t be doing after such a short period. It’s only one average size woman sleeping in this bed and I’m not bedridden- it’s 7-9 hours max a night.A few months ago I had enough. I couldn’t even remember how old the mattress was, and this was what prevented me from being fully motivated to doing anything about it- I think I thought the bed was older than it was. I don’t even remember what I was doing a year ago, and I don’t remember getting the mattress or setting it up- it just feels like it was much longer ago than it was. But, I keep seeing these ads on TikTok and IG for these Nectar adjustable beds and I’m like- god, my old bag of dust mites bed really sucks…I should do something about it. That’s when I looked the order up and was shocked and surprised when I saw how recently I had purchased this bed. As a reminder- it is LESS than one year old. I was like- sweet- it must still be under the one year warranty- problem solved.I emailed the seller and told them what was up. They asked me to send pics. I sent pics. Then they asked for more pics, I sent pics. Then they asked me to strip the bed, flip the dang mattress and take a pic of the tag. I sent a pic of the one tag. BUT THERE WAS A SECOND TAG. And this tag was removed. What in the name of sleep number is going on here? Everyone knows that the tags are allowed to be removed from items by the consumer, even when they say it’s against the law. I mean, I googled this, and you can, too. But NO. Zinus says that since their tag was removed it voided the warranty and this ten month old mattress was my problem to deal with.Look, this piece of crap only cost $150. So it isn’t the end of the world. You might say I got what I paid for, and I would now agree. But at the time, that was my budget and the reviews convinced me this was a solid product and I assumed any company worth their salt would stand by a mattress LESS THAN A YEAR OLD. If my mattress was 5 years old, I could understand this. BUT IT IS LESS THAN A YEAR OLD. There is seriously NOTHING outside of me taking a machete to this thing and slicing it up that should preclude this company from standing by their product. If this thing cost me $150, then it cost them around $100. I guess for a measly hundo, they get to have a very unhappy customer who happens to have nothing better to do this weekend than to write reviews about how bad this product is and post it on amazon and all my other sm.If I prevent one person from not buying this mattress, that will have cost this shady company more than it would have to just do the right thing and take their saggy mattress back and replace it. This makes no sense! There is a reason why mattresses don’t cost $150. It’s because a quality mattress costs more than $100 to produce, even if you use elementary school-age kids in some third world country to make them. The cost of freight alone makes this impossible. I work for a commercial furniture dealer and we are in the process of importing 3 containers of custom casegoods from China. I know exactly how much this costs. I should have known better but again- the reviews- and I could afford$150! You absolutely get what you pay for. For comparison, the average name brand mattress sold in the US has a warranty of 10-20 years. Some even offer lifetime warranties. The average life span is closer to 7-8 years. I will end up spending twice as much if I have to buy a new mattress every 10-12 months if I continue to buy this mattress. Imagine the waste in the landfill if me and just a few other people go thru a mattress a year! Plus, I have to deal with disposing this thing, which isn’t free, and it is a pain in the backside to haul it downstairs and to the alley.I’m going to a mattress store this weekend. There are a million of them around, and I will just go and check out a few. I need to shell out at least $400-500 and get a decent product. Good sleep is probably more important than the food you eat. I just can’t take it anymore. If you are a college student who doesn’t plan to take their furniture with them every summer when you leave your apartment, perhaps this is a good idea for you. I still think it is horribly wasteful and terrible for our environment, but I can understand if you live across the country and unable to store it or move it back with you on the plane. Or if you are very low income (been there- kinda am there still), and you absolutely cannot get anything better, I understand that, too. But if you are a regular person with stable housing, a relatively decent income and want to buy a mattress that you can count on for good restful sleep, you need to really consider not purchasing from this company. If only because it is absolute nonsense they wouldn’t stand by their $100 product that is less than a year old even when presented with evidence that it is bad. And if you must deal with this mattress and seller, for the love of stearns + foster, DON’T REMOVE THE BLOODY TAG!

I purchased this mattress for my 4 year old daughter. She really needed a new one!Pros:1. It came packaged extremely well! Almost vacuumed sealed, in a way. Be careful when you’re opening the packaging, and ensure all young children and pets are not nearby, as it unravels with some force. Even I had to move back a bit!2. It’s comfortable, and slightly buoyant. It’s extremely attractive as well. I almost fell asleep on my baby girl’s bed!!3. My daughter will undoubtedly be able to grow into this bed. I can tell it was made to last. She can have this mattress for years to come!4. The price is pretty good, for what it is!Cons:1. Shipping. I requested for this mattress to be delivered to me the day after I ordered it, since I’m a Prime member. That did not happen. Puralator gave SO many issues. Claiming they tried to deliver when they definitely didn’t. I ended up having to pick it up at a local Puralator Depot, 3 days after it was supposed to be delivered. Extremely inconvenient. I had to take a Uber there, and a taxi back, since it comes in a pretty big and long box. Puralator has long since been known for horrendous service. So, I’m not saying everyone will have this experience. I live in a building, if that helps anyone. I know it’s the Holiday Season but if I chose a package to be delivered the day after, it should be!! Amazon compensated me for my troubles.2. The mattress does have a strong smell. Not a disgusting smell, but a prominent NEW smell. I’d be good to let it air out for a while, in the bedroom with an open window. My fiance loved the smell. He said this is what a new mattress should smell like. I laughed, but since it’s for our 4 year old, we decided to let it air out a bit.All in all, I truly love this mattress for my daughter. Her eyes lit up when she saw it. She knew she was getting a new bed, so she was definitely anticipating it, but when I walked through the door with the box, and when she saw the actual mattress with her own eyes, I felt so happy to see she was happy! We won’t have to worry about getting her a new bed for YEARS now, which is awesome. I recommend this bed for anyone that has children (4-5 years and up, I would say), single people, students/professionals, etc. If you’re thinking about getting this bed for you and your partner, I’d wish against that. The bed is good for maybe 2 kids at a time, or just 1 adult. But two adults at a time would be very uncomfortable and cramped. I wish you all enjoy your new purchase!
