I absolutely love this bamboo entryway bench! Originally, I purchased it with the intention of using it as a Japanese-style table so that I could enjoy meals with my tiny dog on my lapâhe always seems to find his way over when I’m eating, and I wanted him to feel included. However, I ended up buying a stool and opting to sit at my counter instead.Initially, I debated returning the bench because my NYC apartment is incredibly small, and I wasn’t sure if I could accommodate both a stool and a bench in the kitchen area. Nice benches, no so great packaging
I like the benches. I’m using them for plant stands. Easy to put together and sturdy. I don’t understand the reviews that talked about the screws being too short, they worked just fine for me. The one thing that I don’t like is the packaging. Like most things from China, they are filled with tons of styrofoam blocks, styrofoam sheeting, and plastic – none of it recyclable. The box was so strapped with cheap tape that it’s impossible to remove in order to atleast recycle that.Amazon’s new commercials talk about how sustainable they are becoming, but they need to start with these companies overseas. Vegetable-based packing peanuts would have cushioned these benches just fine 🙂

I disagree with some comments that say it’s shaky and unstable. My wife and I weigh close to 300 lbs in total and the bench is sturdy enough for both of us. It has a Japandi feel to it and we love it. Assembly was easy. The package arrived in flat boxes. It would even be better if it ships sooner.
