Sturdy and Beautiful Bench
This is HEAVY and once put together, super sturdy. Some of the screws are challenging to tighten up since they’re so close to the sides but the two of us were able to manage. Lots of storage inside for shoes, boots,. This is an attractive addition at my front entry.

A good find
It’s well packaged, every single wood piece is wrapped properly and all packed together with surrounding buffering material to avoid any damage. So all in good shape when I opened the package. The installation can be done by a reasonable person in an hour. The manual actually made sense and easy to follow. The storage space is roomy as advertised but won’t expect to hold too much weight. The seating top board is made by solid wood so it can support at least two adults sitting on it. Note, sitting only, as standing would be a little different story….The paint is dark brown, but more like dark cherry under shades, which I like a lot. Very classy with my corner office desk suites. The latch that control the storage cover is spring assisted so it won’t accidentally fall when opened. It literally can stay at any angle when you open it. So you can use both hands to work on something more important instead of holding the lid.PS: the two sitting pads are not from the package but bought separately somewhere else.

Nice and worth the price
Works great as an entryway bench. Deep storage but not for really heavy items as the bottom is not as thick as the other pieces. I bought mine with shoe storage in mind, so not really a problem. A little tricky to assemble by yourself! Also, there are these nylon washers that are supposed to go on both sides of the lid where the little metal pins stick. However, when I tried to assemble it the end pieces wouldn’t fit together right. So I left them out and it came together perfect. Just a little clearance problem. Also the hinges are nice and stiff so the lid stays open but one side made a little clicking sound at first. I may not have aligned it correctly though there were pilot holes. Anyways, I just bent it a little gentle by hand one direction and another and that made it go away.Bottom line: I like it! I don’t know how well it will stand up to a bunch of abuse but seems really sturdy to me… especially for the cost.Oh yeah, before I bought I used that option where you can “see it in your room” by using your camera. Dang that worked really well. It looks and fits almost identical to the picture I posted of the real thing. Crazy.

Bring a friend!
To begin, I’m a 72 year old woman and I just finished putting this thing together, sans hinges, in about 2 and a half hours, by myself. I don’t recommend doing this on your own, but my dog was of little help so I soldiered on. This is not fine furniture, but for the price, it’s pretty good. All the pieces were there and in good order, it says all you need is a screwdriver and the included hex wrench. Wishful thinking.First of all it’s heavy, and I’m no spring chicken. I decided to assemble it on my pool table as opposed to the floor in the garage/shop. That kept me off the floor, at least, but created some other problems. Since there was no one to steady it and keep the sides from falling and ripping out the screws I resorted to wood clamps to keep it squared. That helped a lot, but the clamps got in the way at times and had to be moved around. Still it was the best solution when you can’t phone a friend. That worked great until it came time to put on the side piece. You must put the bench top on first, into these tight little holes. With no one there to offer resistance, and to keep from pushing the bench off the table, I had to use more clamps for it to push against. With a mallet I was finally able to get the top into the holes on both sides and screw on the sides. I can’t begin to explain how difficult this was. I used books to support the top to keep it from falling down and to help align the holes. It wasn’t perfect, but you do what you need to with what you have on hand. Eventually I had to turn it on end on the floor and whack it with a mallet to get it to go together. Don’t ask me how I did it, but I got it there without ripping out the screws somehow and it all popped together. Clamps kept it there until I could put in the necessary screws and tighten everything up.I did lay the piece on the floor to screw on the back, lined it up and held it in place with clamps. To keep it from falling forward I used big clamps as weights to counter balance it. The holes didn’t exactly align well, and it was difficult to get the long screws started into the arms. I resorted to a drill and making my own starter holes, or I’d still be there cursing.Putting in the bottom was a piece of cake! By the time I was done my hands and fingers were bruised from that little hex wrench. It’s not that easy to use and is hard on the fingers and wrists. I still need to tighten up a few of the screws to make the joints fully closed, but my fingers just gave out. It does feel sturdy and looks pretty good. I didn’t put in the hinges, which will keep the lid from falling on a child or on your fingers, but I just ran out of steam. Maybe tomorrow, I don’t have any kids to worry about and I don’t think the dog will try to open it.Picture 3 shows my effort at attaching the lid, eventually I had to resort to upending in and hitting it with a mallet. Picture 5 is without the back, and I was very tempted to leave it at that. My collection of tools is on the table. picture 6 is attaching the back on the floor, using clamps to keep it from tipping over. In picture 7, on the right is what it tells you that you need…hex wrench, screwdriver, and instruction booklet. On the left is what you really need, including Ibuprofen and bandaids. Picture 8 is the finished project and picture 9 proves that I lived to tell about it.I give it 4 stars overall. For the price it’s probably 5 stars. Putting it together would be a lot easier if you had someone to help hold it up, doing it alone was a real challenge. I took off a star to make up for my aching fingers, hands, back and neck. But I did it, so I’m happy.

Easy Assembling
I have no idea why it is taking so long for some of the reviewers to assemble this. I dread assembling furniture. Thatâs why I often buy already assembled or used/vintage stuff. I bought this and before assembling i read the reviews. Then I thought I would time myself. It took me 1 hr 45 mins to assemble. All by myself, that too because i had to redo a step due to a silly mistake that cost me15-20 mins. And it was east hand assembling. No power tools needed. The item is gorgeous. The polish is shiny and beautiful. It is plenty sturdy for two people to sit when we call guests at home. We just need some back cushions

Good bench
Very good bench for the price. As long as you purchase this bench realizing its cheap furniture, and it will behave like cheap furniture, you will have no issues with this bench 🙂 quality is similar to Walmart or ikea furniture. The bottom is thin as other reviews have said, but otherwise the bench does feel good, i dont feel like it will break when i sit on it and it doesnt wobble. Very nice storage room inside, the only issue is the bottom is very thin so that might limit when you could put inside. If you brace the bottom it would definitely help. Overall for under $100 i am very satisfied! Everything came in perfect condition and it was put together in less than an hour. Only a couple hiccups when assembling that were user error.

Craftsmanship is superb but some parts of the construction is just paper dressed up to look like wood. Accidentally Dropped my hammer on one of the sides and it went through like paper.
