Benefits & Use Cases
The Brightech Litespan excels in environments requiring consistent, glare-free lighting. It is especially beneficial for professionals such as estheticians performing lash extensions, where precision and shadow-free visibility are critical. Home hobbyists will appreciate its ability to reveal fine details in arts and crafts, sewing, woodworking, or model building thanks to the daylight-balanced beam. Students and remote workers can use it in home offices to reduce fatigue during long study or screen-based sessions. Because the lamp produces no heat and has a low profile, it’s also suitable for use around children’s play areas or craft stations without safety concerns. Additionally, placing it in a garage provides reliable task lighting that rivals daylight, improving accuracy and comfort during repairs or assembly work.
Important Notes
This lamp features a permanently installed LED bulb, meaning it is not user-replaceable. While the unit is designed for indoor use only, its robust construction makes it durable enough to withstand regular household handling. Always assemble according to included instructions and avoid over-bending the gooseneck beyond its intended range to maintain structural integrity. The lamp does not include a cordless battery option—it requires standard electrical outlet power. Please ensure adequate clearance around the weighted base to prevent accidental knocks during operation.
The Litespan’s minimalist aesthetic isn’t just functional—it’s intentionally designed to elevate any space. Whether placed beside a reading chair, next to a sewing machine, or in a corner of a home office, its clean lines and neutral finishes integrate effortlessly into diverse decor styles. Unlike bulky desk lamps or harsh fluorescent lights, the Litespan offers warm yet crisp illumination that supports both productivity and visual comfort. Its portability allows you to reposition it easily across rooms, adapting to changing needs throughout the day. From evening book clubs to morning makeup routines, the Litespan adjusts to your schedule with ease.
Energy efficiency is another standout feature. At just 12 watts, the Litespan uses far less electricity than incandescent or halogen alternatives while delivering equivalent brightness. Over time, this translates to significant savings on utility bills—without sacrificing performance. The absence of UV emissions also means it won’t fade fabrics or artwork near the light source, making it safe for display areas or delicate materials.
For those concerned about sustainability, the Litespan contributes positively by eliminating disposable bulb waste and reducing carbon footprint through efficient energy use. The extended 20-year lifespan further minimizes resource consumption over the product’s lifetime. Even after daily use for decades, users won’t need to replace the bulb, underscoring the product’s thoughtful engineering toward longevity and practicality.

Versatile and Practical Reading Light
The packaging was protective so the contents all arrived in excellent condition. Its manual was written logically and the assembly was intuitive. In dark brown, the finish fit my décor well. The materials used were sturdy, the connections well-designed and its weighted base was sufficient to keep the lamp stable on low-pile carpeting. Its height was perfect for my chair’s design, and the lamp’s flexi head allowed for accurate positioning. The fixture itself was large enough to spread light over the reading area, but not so wide that the facing tv/monitor screen could pick up its reflection. Adjusting the light output was also intuitive, allowing a useable range of brightness. When off, the power button glows orange which allows it to be visually located easily, as well as by feel. Again, perfect.Longevity is the only unknown, but its build quality and component designs are encouraging. Recommended!

Great Reading Lamp
Easy to assemble, sturdy in construction, and serves its purpose as a reading lamp, in particular to those of us who like reading books. Iâve been using for a few days. The dimming function is nice, the light is bright, and I can be added to the thousands who have already recommended this product.

Good Choice
Great light, love the optins of for color/brightness. Would like to the see the accordian neck part of the lamp a bit more flexible, but I can work around some of the issues I have encountered. Overall, well built, easily assembled, great price.

Nice Lamp, Has Quirks!
Very “clean” full spectrum light, “filtered” by milky plastic, so it casts a nicely dispersed swath of light without one central “too bright” spot.Great for photography (which I use it for when photographing items which require “full daylight” such as stones and art glass, etc.).Dimmer is a bit odd, though, being a “touch on, touch off” round plastic piece near the lens, which always glows orange when plugged-in. Touch and hold until the desired brightness is reached. It works very well, but I would rather see a dial there in it’s place, and would greatly prefer a dimmer which did not reset to “bright” every time the lamp is turned off then back on. Minus one star for that. Also, this being a floor lamp, it is about 18″ too short. I am 5’10” and the lamp head reaches about to my chest, so I have to straighten-out the curved “goose neck” in order to keep the lamp head out of the way when I am sitting at my desk..it is a bit intrusive.Assembly is very easy. Just screw together each threaded section of pole and feed the connector wire through each section until you reach the base. There is where things get ‘weird”. At the base is a large metal piece, which must be inserted into the bottom of the lamp post AFTER the final connection is made. Any redisual wire (there was very little on the lamp I received) needs to be tucked into the lamp pole, so be careful not to “pinch” the wiring when doing final assembly. Also, the lamp then needs to be screwed about five (or so) full turns in order to fully assemble it and keep the lamp pole from wobbling in the stand. The other tricky part is that there is a small Philips-head screw in the bright silver “insert” that goes into the pole. You must remove that screw BEFORE attempting final assembly, then whle holding a wobbly lamp post and heavy lamp head, find a way to line-up the tiny screw hole with the one in the side of the lamp post, then thread the screw and tighten it completely before finishing the assembly.Instructions? Use your intuition, because there is very little of value in the booklet! Finally, the lamp is ready for use. It is better than the lamps on any Ottlite I’ve used and the dimmer is very welcome in most environments. It is not a “whole room” lamp..but it will nicely illuminate a work surface with ease, and the light is definitely white as white can be. If there is a lamp which is “better than sunlight”, this is most certainly it!Only real “gripe aside from it being too short for a true “floor lamp” (though it is a nice, heavy base that does sit nicely on the floor, without worry of tipping) is that when I move the lamp head, even a bit, the bottom pole tends to loosen and causes the entire pole to rotate and loosen slightly in the base. This is a design flaw. There should be a screw or a pin lock to prevent the whole pole from turning loose in the base! That is the most aggravating (for want of a better word) thing about this lamp…the feeling that the upright pole is constantly turning loose in the base, and my fear it will simply fall out of the threaded base due to the lack of a locking mechanism. I have to constantly keep tightening the lamp pole into the base, even if it is just moved across the house to another room. Any turning of the lamp head and the pole wants to unscrew from the base!!Those issues notwithstanding, if you set it up and leave it in place, it is a very nice lamp with features not found on the Ottlite, and with LED bulbs which will last about 100,000 hours, barring any electrical damage from lightning, etc.Nice touch? The “disconnect” on the cord. If one pulls the lamp too far from the outlet, there is a safety “break apart” cord which will save you from damaging the wall plate, the electical outlet, and/or the cord from pulling too hard or at the “wrong” angle.Reasonable 5 or 6 foot cord length..could be longer. Room size will dictate whether you will need an extension cord!

This lamp is big!!
This Lamp is big, heavy and great lighting for craft projects, reading mail, books etc ;looks great in the reading / craft room, don’t worry about a child or baby pushing it over; the weight holds the lamp up.

Great Lamp
This is a perfect light for behind my chair in bedroom to read by. Light brightness is adjustable for reading, watching TV, or just to lighten up the room. Very easy to assemble.

It was easy to assemble, light is bright and good for reading, gooseneck is easy to adjust. The light is either on or off, it is not dimmable.

Perfect for our needs
My wife wanted something to light up her sowing desk for some projects. She picked out this one and I put it together (easy-peasy, with a little common sense). Bottom line: it lights up her sowing desk beautifully, making it easier for her to do those sowing projects, most of which she donates to people with needs (proud of her!).

Very bright at brightest setting. Sometimes the light doesn’t turn on when the button is pressed, it seems sensitive to the amount of pressure used. Otherwise works perfectly so far.

Easy to put together. Quality is very impressive. Lovely, yet practical light. Light can be super bright or dimmed easily to a less brightness intensity. Great for crafter!
Patricia Greasley –

Why isnât there a plug conversion included? I am in my eighties therefore am reliant on a helper to put things like this together for me. My helper is efficient but found it very difficult to know how and which type for safety etc., to use. This has caused me a lot of worry . I donât expect this sort of thing when buying U.K. goods, I wouldnât have gone through with the purchase!?? Look forward to your help/comments. N.Holt
