1 out of 4 doesn’t work but seller made it good
This is a difficult review to write. On the positive side, these work inside coach light fixtures where the other motion detector technology does not. They are plenty bright and the three that work pick up motion appropriately, stay on as long as motion exists and then shut off after 17 seconds when the motion has finished. Great for security around our home since I don’t want the lights on all the time but also don’t want anyone on our property, uninvited at night. The difficult part comes in that one of the 4 bulbs doesn’t work property – it goes on and off constantly, motion or not. Moved it to another fixture but still does the same thing (all three are on the same circuit). I’m concerned that if I return it along with a good one (they come in packs of 2 so I’d have to return 2) and then get back two that don’t work properly. Reading other negative reviews, the actions of the one that doesn’t function properly seem to be a failure point for the product. On the other hand, once I contacted the company, they immediately made good on the defective product – best response from a seller on Amazon that I’ve ever experienced. I’m sure now that I will have 4 working bulbs.

Works Like A Charm!
I ordered these to replace day-night bulbs with sensors for covered fixtures flanking the garage. They work like charms! Love them.

works a little too well
Ok, i’m surprised that these flood type lamps are pretty bright. They are 5000k so they are that whiter light that is great to brighten up dark areas like my backyard. I have two bulb sockets that were mounted high near the the top corner of the roof to illuminate the backyard. So the two lamps are spaced about 45 degrees apart to shine on the whole yard. They aren’t pointed down but maybe a little farther out to the corners of the yard. With that said, they are mounted pretty high, over 12′ and they are detecting some sort of movement. The lights will come on every 5 seconds. Almost suspect that there’s something triggering it besides movement as it’s a regular cycle. I”m going to have to turn this off at night which defeats the purpose of this light as it will bother the neighbors as it flicks on and off every 5-10 seconds. So i’m going leave it on hoping that there is some sort of break in period, maybe the bulbs will get dustier and block some of the movement sensing? But i have to say, for a small light and movement sensor embedded inside the lamp itself, it sure is working beyond what i thought, as it said it should work at about 3-5 meters. Anyways, 4 stars for now as they are bright and the light is more then i need, but the motion sensor is a little bit too sensitive.Update: i put a 1″ piece of electrical tape cut in half length wise on each side of the 3/4″ sensor or what i assume is the sensor in the middle of the bulb face. So like 3/4″ on each side i put some tape. I’m not sure if it’s the tape, but at least it turns off for longer durations now. It’s still detecting motion quite easily, but usually after 12am it stays off at longer intervals. So not sure what you make of that, the trees moved less? possibly. At first i put the 1″ piece of tape covering the center and it didn’t seem to want to turn off for whatever reason. I want to try put a few more pieces of tape on it as i think this will solve the constant on and off. i think i’ll position it so it covers half that middle black looking sensor right in the center. it was windy yesterday night so it came on excessively, so i hope it’s not bothering the neighbors too much. The extra pieces of tape should desensitize it a little more and i think it’ll be perfect.Update2: As temps been dripping after midnight its been staying off longer. Maybe 4 hours at the longest. Usually after midnight. I still will add two more small strips of electrical tape on the other two sides blocking just a little of the center sensor to desensitize it just a bit more. There does seem to be some animal movement triggering so overall they do work.

Very pleased
Almost one year later and the light bulb is going strong (haven’t needed the second one yet) even after it went through the summer in the car garage when our days here in Texas were a string of 105 degrees and the garage would get to 100 degrees.*****Sometimes I get home late from work and need a light to come on automatically in my garage so I don’t trip over anything. I often enter by raising the garage door since I park in the driveway and haven’t repaired my old garage door opener. I had previously purchased an infrared motion detector bulb, but it wasn’t activating at the distance I needed. The new radar bulbs arrived today. My garage has a wall switch which in turn controls a mechanical overhead light switch. I screwed it in, pulled the mechanical chain, and shortly thereafter the radar bulb came on with a bright light. After approximately the 17 seconds expected, the light went off. This is because I had my garage door open in the 5:30 p.m. overcast winter light which was enough light for it to consider that daylight. I then gradually closed my garage door until it was almost completely closed and dark, and the light came on.I realized I would still need a light for a low light situation. So I moved the radar bulb to a lightstand on a table with a large shade on it, and replaced the original CFL in the overhead fixture. The overhead CFL was bright enough to keep the radar bulb from coming on, which is what I wanted. When I switched off the CFL at the wall, the radar bulb came on in the dark, even with the large shade. So all good there.I went out of my garage and closed the door to get the other bulb to make sure it worked. Upon returning, I slowly open the laundry room door to the garage maybe an inch, and it was dark, but when I opened it wider, the light came on. I switched out radar bulbs, and the other one also worked. I stood motionless in the garage, and the radar light went off. With a half step, it would then come on.Time will tell, but my initial impression based on the results is one of being very pleased. Hope this helps.

This highly sensitive, radar motion, sensing light bulb works well and gives off ample light for our front and back porches. They are a great option if putting up a motion sensor lamp isnât possible. They could be used indoors too. I would recommend these bulbs.

El producto funciona muy bien, es muy sencible y la luz es muy agradable

Great product. I like how wide the range of detection is, the clear lighting it provides and the overall price point vs value.
Jose Hanchi –
buen producto. aunque la sensibilidad es bastante alta y se enciende con movimiento de plantas, seria ideal que tuviese un regulador de la sensibilidad de detectar movimiento

I replaced the bulbs on the exterior garage lights as earlier we had to leave them on when returning late at night as our lane driveway through the neighbourhood doesn’t have any street lighting & sometimes we would forget to switch them off upon return which would result in them running till the next day and assumably was annoying for our neighbours if their blinds were up. I had debated changing the whole light casing initially as there are some available in the marketplace which have motion sensors inbuilt and thus work with regular bulbs but they are pricey & I didn’t really find a design I liked within my price range. So I looked for motion sensor bulbs instead as my existing lamp was working fine but the issue was that the glass in it was frosted and the bulb fitted sideways not downwards and many motion sensor bulbs only worked with clear glass and with vertical instalments where the bulb head was pointing at the floor, not the wall – till I found this one!! The motion sensor is very sensitive & it actually senses through walls, from a large distance and works with frosted glass. If it wouldn’t sense through walls then I could use it on my patio as well coz’ when I tried it had false triggers whenever anyone walked inside the house so had to take it off as it started to become a nuisance. Better pricing or quantity discounting could also help as I had to buy 2 packs of 2 at regular price whereas many other vendors offer better pricing for that quantity. The dawn to dusk feature also works well but during cloudy days it comes on even during daytime for the ones that have a ledge over them. Nonetheless, I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for motion-sensing lights.
