Product Overview

The Govee Envisual TV LED Backlight T2 with Dual Cameras, measuring 11.8ft, is engineered to transform your viewing experience through intelligent ambient lighting that reacts in real time to on-screen content. Designed for modern televisions of various sizes and designs—including ultra-thin models—the T2 uses advanced dual-camera technology to detect screen colors and intensity, then replicates them dynamically around the perimeter of your display. Whether you’re immersed in a cinematic movie, competing in an intense gaming session, or simply streaming your favorite shows, this smart backlight adds depth and atmosphere by syncing light patterns directly from what’s playing on your screen. The result is a more engaging, lifelike environment that draws you deeper into every scene.

Key Features

  • Dual-Camera Design: Unlike its predecessor, the original T1 model (H6199), the T2 features two strategically positioned cameras that work together to capture screen content from both sides. This setup significantly improves detection accuracy, especially at the edges and corners of larger or slimmer TVs, reducing color mismatches and enhancing overall synchronization.
  • Enhanced Color Matching & LED Density: With double the number of high-quality LED beads compared to the H6199 model, the T2 delivers richer saturation and more consistent color reproduction across the entire 11.8-foot strip. This means brighter whites, deeper blacks, and more vibrant highlights that truly reflect the nuances of your content.
  • Gravity-Stabilized Mounting System: The T2 incorporates a unique counterweight mechanism within its dual-camera housing, allowing it to sit securely atop your TV—even on ultra-thin or lightweight displays where traditional backlights might slip or shift. This ensures stable installation without requiring additional clamps or adhesives.
  • DreamView Syncing Function: Through the Govee Home App, you can designate the T2 as the central controller for your smart lighting ecosystem. Using Bluetooth connectivity, other compatible Govee non-camera lights (such as strip lights or smart bulbs) can mirror the T2’s on-screen effects, creating full-room immersion that follows action seamlessly from screen to space.
  • Customizable Saturation & White Balance: If initial color matching doesn’t quite hit the mark, fine-tuning is simple: adjust saturation levels and white balance settings directly through the app to match your room’s lighting conditions or personal preference. This flexibility helps correct any minor discrepancies caused by ambient room light or screen glare.
  • Top-Only Installation Requirement: Due to the design of the gravity-stabilized dual cameras, the T2 must be mounted exclusively at the top edge of your television. It cannot be placed at the bottom like some alternative mounting styles, so ensure your setup accommodates this positioning before purchasing.

Technical Specifications

  • Model Number: H605C
  • Length: 11.8 feet (3.6 meters)
  • Camera Configuration: Dual cameras with gravity-stabilized housing
  • LED Bead Count: Double that of the H6199 (T1) model
  • Mounting Position: Top edge of TV only
  • Sync Technology: Bluetooth-based DreamView function
  • Compatible App: Govee Home (iOS/Android)

Benefits & Use Cases

This backlight is ideal for anyone who values both visual impact and functional integration in their home entertainment setup. Movie lovers will appreciate how subtle shifts in mood—like a stormy sky in a thriller or neon-lit cityscapes in sci-fi films—are echoed in the room’s lighting, deepening emotional engagement. Gamers benefit from responsive ambient cues during fast-paced action sequences, where sudden flashes or explosions are matched by corresponding bursts of light around the screen. Even casual viewers gain a more dynamic atmosphere that turns passive watching into an active sensory experience.

The improved dual-camera system also addresses common pain points found in earlier models. Users upgrading from the T1 (H6199) will notice fewer color misalignments at screen corners and better performance on smaller or unusually shaped TVs. The gravity-stabilized design eliminates concerns about slippage, making it safe for use on delicate or frameless displays where weight distribution matters.

Additionally, if you already own other Govee smart lights—such as RGB strips or ceiling bulbs—you can unify your ecosystem. By setting the T2 as the main device via the DreamView feature, all compatible non-camera lights automatically sync their colors and effects to follow on-screen action. This creates a cohesive ambiance that extends beyond just the TV zone, filling your living space with synchronized light that responds to every scene change.

Important Notes

  • The dual-camera system requires installation at the top edge of your TV; it cannot be mounted at the bottom due to its counterweight design.
  • For optimal performance, minimize direct external light sources (like lamps or windows) that may interfere with camera detection. Bright reflections off the screen can also affect accuracy—try adjusting your seating angle or covering nearby reflective surfaces if needed.
  • If color matching appears inaccurate upon first use, first attempt adjustments to saturation and white balance within the Govee Home App. These settings allow fine control over output intensity and hue to better suit your specific screen and room conditions.
  • Not all Govee devices support Bluetooth syncing—only non-camera models can connect via DreamView when the T2 is set as the primary controller. Check compatibility before assuming full ecosystem integration.
  • While highly stable on most flat surfaces, avoid placing the T2 on uneven, soft, or curved TV frames unless supported by manufacturer guidelines. Always test fitment before final installation.

    A World of Difference
Since installing the light strip, the viewing experience has been absolutely magical. The entire wall lights up with a relatively responsive glow based on whats on screen. Especially engrossing in colorful scenes like animations, but offers fantastic ambiance with any other scene (e.g. fires, flashlights moving, cool snow scenes, vibrant background colors). A very affordable alternative to HDMI-input color strips. Its not as responsive to within the millisecond as those HDMI inputs, but at a fraction of the price its an excellent product. If you set it up correctly, have a dark area without external light sources, and have sufficient white space behind the TV to defuse the colors – this is a must buy.Installation:The strip installation is a breeze, but actual calibration is where one would need to take special focus. You need to be sure you setup app setting’s light direction, color calibration (against a nuetral white screen), saturation and brightness levels, and most importantly play with calibration of the camera. You will get a few orange squares to adhere to TV screen to pinpoint the cameras angles. I personally found better results by moving the calibration points closer inwards into screen by a few inches. Meaning the orange squares place the calibration too close to edge of the TV and this did not provide the best result. I recommend playing around with these points and running a few color test videos on YouTube. Also, keep in mind this technology works by using a camera to see the TV screen. This technology works best in absolute darkness – any reflection on the matte or glossy screen display from outside lights will negative impact your color accuracy. I find the light strip isn’t as impressive in the daytime.Support:This is the real reason I am writing the review. Govee support has been impeccable. I had issues getting my camera to work correctly as one of the two lenses was not reading input correctly. They provided instant solutions and sent a replacement for the defunct piece. I was impressed by how swiftly they had resolved my issues, no questions asked. Moreso than the product itself, this impressive support will ensure I buy more Govee devices.

    Great, sets the mood
Was curious how it would look in my room, to my surprise it looks great. Love watching movies or shows at night, immersed, bright, connect with wifi or Bluetooth, easy to use and set up. Fits to size with the wiring, does not pop out from the side of the TV

Great product! Please read! I included some helpful pointers for set up.
We love the lighting experience! The back light gives you an excellent movie experience. We’re definitely going to add on additional room lighting to enhance the whole room. Only negative thing I can say is, the install instructions do not go into detail on how to adjust the saturation or white balance. The colors were a little off. I believe the saturation depends on your tv. We have a Samsung 85” Crystal UHD. I did some research to help you all settings up. Go to youtube, type in white screen. After the screen is white, adjust the saturation and white balance until all the lights are white. ( Make sure you have no other lights on or glare from a window. Preferably do it at night.). I ended up at saturation zero and white balance two notches from blue. NOTE: I redid calibration with the white screen as well. It helped line the camera up a lot easier than a dark screen. Then on YouTube type in LED back light test. Video attached.Hope this review helps with your decision to go with this T.V LED back light

    Great backlight option!
So this is going to be kind of a long explanation, so the short review is yes it works great and it is everything promised. I would absolutely recommend. Here is my experience with govee backlights.Govee sync box: I first tried the govee sync box because I liked the idea of plug and play, meaning no calibration. The sync box is definitely far more accurate and has much better color change response time. However it only works when you plug something (Roku, Apple tv, PC, whatever) into it. So it does not work with native smart tv apps. That wasn’t my problem though, my problem was that I have a lot of money invested into a high end TV with high end PC and the sync box just couldn’t keep up at 60 fps. My setup kept crashing the sync box. There are work arounds online, but it gets really expensive really fast. I also didn’t like that I had to control everything with the govee box, meaning to turn things on and off or switch from device to device I had to ether get on my phone or get up and go press button on the box.Govee T2:So I did more research and decided to give the T2 a shot. It does require calibration which can be a bit of a pain until you figure out what your doing. However the response time is pretty impressive for camera and it works with literally any content at any speed. It looks great especially when I added a couple other govee light via dream view. My only complaint and reason for 4 ⭐ is that with the camera on top of the TV there was about a 1.5-2 foot spot behind the camera that it couldn’t see so the colors were off a bit. I’m assuming it uses some sort of predictive algorithm to determine color in this area. Govee does not offer a bottom mounting option, but I went online and found a way to do it anyway. Now the camera sits in front the the TV’s base where I can’t see the lights anyway and it now looks amazing!New Govee back light 3 option:I did just see after getting it just the way I like it that govee just released the backlight 3 “light”. From what I’ve read the T2 is (debatably) still the better option, however if they come out with the back light 3 pro, I may upgrade because it has a couple new features im definitely interested in. So if your not in a hurry do a little research into the govee backlight 3 and see if it’s something your interested in. If you want something now the T2 is absolutely a solid option!

The springs a whole new dynamic to your TV experience whether your watching videos, television, movies or video games. It helps you feel like you’re more part of what’s going on on the screen. I have it accompanied on each side by Govee Lyra lamps configured with it, and also a set of their Hex lights off my back left, and two sets of their Y lights off to my back rear that I only sync when watching movies or playing PS 5, otherwise they are colour patterns etc. With almost 20 various Govee lighting covering almost every single one of their products in my one Mediaroom/man cave alone it is absolutely incredible how it can transform a room from soothing, to cool, to party mode, and it’s also easily programmable in their app which of surprisingly heard people complain about although it is as simple as an app can be, so I’m always puzzled by that one complaint that comes up from time to time. You have to buy this unit, and I have a blue wall behind my TV which is not helping the colour accuracy so I should probably paint it but it’s still produces some pretty darn accurate colours and is superior to the Phillips version which uses HDMI as you can’t take advantage of smart TV functions with their technology unless you’re using a separate box like Apple TV etc. of which I do have, but I prefer the Govee ecosystem as it much more affordable and just as good quality. They are the new kings in town taking over the home lighting industry, especially their permanent outdoor lighting which I have yet to get into, but I will. It’s just that my house is so large that it will cost a small fortune as I like to go all out when I do things.Trust me just buy this T2 set up, set up the left side of the screen first then complete, then go back and set up the right side of the screen and complete it is the simplest way IMO to get the best coverage of your screen for the dual camera.I have an 85 inch TV, and the kit I got is for 75 to 85 inches meaning I don’t have as many LEDs as would be preferred, but there are 60 LEDs per metre which is a heck of a lot and they are bright and the best quality I have ever seen. I’ve had many LEDs in my life working in the theatre industry for 30 years so I’ve seen my fair share of various technologies And you will be taking videos and pictures and bragging to your friends about this kit. It also has game mode which makes it super responsive which I would only recommend for when you’re actually playing games otherwise it’s too sensitive. The coolness factor is off the charts and you get used to it pretty quick, I could not imagine a TV without this backlight system, you simply could not rip it out of my hands. I got it on sale for 179, and then it had another $40 clip and save coupon I believe, so they constantly go on sale keep an eye out for that, don’t pay regular price, and it is sold and shipped by Govee so you have full support by them who don’t charge PST by the way… 😉

This is a very nice and a quality product by Govee. First, I bought the previous version (T1), but after watching several review videos I quickly discovered that there is an upgraded version (T2) that just came out (late fall 22), so I went for it. After all, it’s supposed to have a better dual camera and 40% better lights. When I opened the box, I was pleasantly surprised because you could see right away that the product has been significantly improved. From the camera, to the strip lights, everything felt premium. Since I bought the T1, I knew that I had to buy an additional power cord extension (DC12) for under 14$ to be able to hide the main power supply wire behind the wall, otherwise depending on your set up the wire could be short, or not.Everything is installed, it took no longer than 30 mins, no wires showing on my mounted 60inch TV, the lights are calibrated and look absolutely fantastic. I played the ‘Life In Color With David Attenborough’ on Netflix to test it out and demonstrate it to my wife and we were both happy with how the lights were adjusting to the colourful images. You have two options for that function, gaming and movie. Look up review videos with most views and see for yourself how awesome this is. One thing for sure though, no video or a picture can replace the reality, that is when you’re watching an immersive spectacle that takes your home theater set up to a whole other level. Enjoy folks.

It is not a grovee product, the box came opened, with different parts than the description in here, and it has no mention of the brand Grovee at all. It is a sheep fake copy that’s not worth buying made in china
