Easy and inexpensive anti slip fix for your lacquered stairs
Recently we had our stairs to the second floor rebuilt out of a light colored oak and lacquered. They look great but a little too smooth and feel easy to slip. I thought it would be good to have the steps covered with something having anti slippery surface. When I saw this stair runner here on Amazon I thought this may be what I had in mind. By a strange coincidence our stairs had exactly 15 steps although the width of the steps was close to 35 inches. So I got this set. Putting the runner pieces on the steps and making them evenly spaced on each step took only a few minutes. The runner pieces had a good cohesion to the steps and provided a noticeably less slippery feeling climbing up and down the stairs. A good choice of colors. The description claims their washable (I have not tried it). Overall, I like like the look and feel more stable on the stairs.

Great stair treads, Easy to install
I’m using these on my rickety basement stairs to improve safety. The dark grey diagonal pattern has an attractive but commercial/industrial look to them which is perfect in my case but they might look a little out of place on stairs in the house. The adhesive is tacky but easy to peel up and reposition if needed, I do strongly recommend giving your stairs a decent cleaning and wipe down before application. The best part is the backing that protects the adhesive is EASY TO REMOVE by just pulling a tab at one corner. Previous stair treads I’ve installed are a hassle to remove the backer from and you spend more time doing that than putting the treads down.

Decorative and Useful
These carpeted self stick stair treads were exactly what we needed. My daughter actually slipped on the bare wooden stairs recently so we were looking for something for the stairs but wanted something that would look aesthetically pleasing and fit with our decor.SCORE!! love love these leaf patter in these in grey. Matches great with the rest of our decor. They have a peel and stick backing and go on fairly easy just have to line them up. They also come with a roll of double stick tape if needed as well. Although the peel and stick work fine through our high traffic home with toddlers and dogs. The padding is slightly raised with a little padding. The sticky back ensures the carpet lays flat along all edges and there is no lifting that would cause tripping. It comes with 15 panels but we only needed 12.They can be washed so I tested one of the extra panels in the washer on cold and let it air dry. The sticky back was not as sticky but still stayed in place. It’s not a sticky that leaves any residue more of a tacky rubber to prevent slippage. They can also be easily vacuumed.Very happy with the functionality, look and feel of these. Definitely recommend for that extra added safety.*Note: if you happen to be a stickler for straight lines then not to worry about the installation of these. The peel and stick feature allows you to easily lift and restick again and again until you get them perfectly lined up.GET THESE!! you won’t be disappointed;!!

Highly effective and practical
I’m completely satisfied with these! This is such a great alternative to installing actual carpet on your stairs. Putting them on was a breeze. Just peel the backing and they stick to the surface really well. They have a nice look with the patterns on them. I walked up and down my stairs after putting them on and it felt so much better than the bare feeling. They actually have plenty of cushion to them which I’m happy with too. This is such an improvement for comfort, and no longer having to deal with slippery painted stairs. They’re so much safer now. I highly recommend these to anyone that wants a simple installation process!

Why didn’t I order these years ago?
After the 3rd person fell down my hardwood stairs, I finally decided it was time to put some kind of tread on them. Why did I wait so long?!These stair-runner treads are attractive & were very quick/easy to install. It took maybe 15 minutes start to finish. I was concerned that the adhesive would damage the finish on the wood, so I tested with one for a few days, pulled it off & inspected before committing to the rest. The adhesive is tacky, so it holds well but also comes back up without pulling off the wood’s finish or leaving behind a residue.Bonus: they feel nice & soft on my bare feet.I’m so happy with this order. No more injuries!!
