Motion sensors work as designed.
Thoroughly enjoyed this purchase. I had pull chains on my basement lights and it was a pain to have to pull the chain to turn on, and to remember to turn it off when done. I put these three light sockets on strategic overhead bulbs and leave the chain pulled on. The sensors do a great job of “sensing” my presence, and I have them set up to turn off after 5 minutes. This allows me to continue my task in the basement without the light going off.Overall, I am very pleased and recommend these sockets to anyone with a similar need.

Mostly works, but sometimes stays on much too long
I have this motion sensor installed in my garage about 12 feet off the ground. I am very happy with the motion sensing, and it’s great when it turns off a few minutes later as expected. However I do have an occasional issue where the light will just stay on for hours after it has been triggered when I am sure there is no motion. It usually turns off eventually on its own. I have other sensors of a different brand installed in the garage and they do not have this problem.

Actually work as described
Needed motion sensor lights in several places where there isn’t a switch near the entrance. Had tried motion sensing bulb sockets that screwed into the standard socket but wasn’t happy with them, then found these and tried a couple. Immediately after installing and trying I ordered more. They work great, come on when I’m within about 8 feet of the bulb, only stay on less than 30 seconds after I leave the area, and don’t come on during fairly bright light (there’s one in the garage in a passage to another room). No extra gadgets or devices or cords, just screw them into the existing light socket (works best and is recommended for standard overhead light sockets).

Great for basement, attic, and pantry lights!!!
Our basement has those light fixtures with a string. Problem was, you have to walk around in the dark to get to the light fixtures. This solves that problem! Now when we walk into the basement, the lights turn on by themselves and turn off when we leave. These are so nice that we bought another set for the attic and pantry

Shutoff the INSTANT you stop moving regardless of how they’re set!
I got these for a pair of lights on the ceiling of my garage so they’d turn on/off on their own whenever I was in the garage. They have a dial to adjust how long they stay on after they stop detecting motion, which I set to the longest time (5 minutes). They come on as you would expect, a second or two after I open the door to the garage and take a couple steps inside. The annoying thing with these though is that the INSTANT you stop moving after getting to the box or cabinet or trunk in the garage you need to rummage through or sit down at a workbench, both lights IMMEDIATELY turn off. You’re then in pitch blackness and have to wave your arms around for several seconds to get the damn things to turn back on – only when they turn on for the SECOND time do they stay on for the time they’re set for! I suppose this is a case of the design trying to be too “smart” for its own good – they’re trying to reduce wasted energy when something momentarily goes by the light (like a bird flying by), but there’s no way to disable this stupid “feature”.
