Interesting idea
These are an interesting approach to an annoying problem. No one enjoys flying insects at their picnics or barbecues. These fans are designed to create enough of a breeze to keep mosquitoes and small gnats (no-see-ums) away while having soft flexible blades. Brushing into the blades wonât hurt you. There are for collapsible fans in the box as well as for usb charging cables.

these will be great when the actual real flies are back
Hard to review this time of year since the flies are few and far between, not completely gone though. I’ve had others in the past so I’m familiar with how they work and these will be great. They do not spin super crazy fast but they don’t need to, they will be effective. The option for the LED lights is cute, maybe that will get used, not sure. I also like that they are rechargeable instead of battery operated – soooo much better. There’s a hook that you can use to hand these upside down (like from an umbrella or something) which I would use if I had one to hang from. I also think it’s clever that they collapse and expand – very helpful for storage. One of the ‘blades” was a bit bent the wrong way but I think it’ll be fine after a bit of reshaping in the box – but overall I am pleased with these. They will get alot of use in our backyard.

It works
These fly fans work great. They pack up small without having to remove the blades or anything. The snap open tightly. Itâs takes a bit of force to extend the base all the way. Itâs easy to turn on and off via the switch on the bottom. Decent battery life but it takes the normal AA batteries for when you need to replace them. My only issue so far is the blades pop off easily and itâs easy to lose the plastic pieces that hold the blade.

Ready for BBQ season. Shoo fly!!
Shoo fly don’t bother me!! Although we tested the fans, I cant say how well they repeal flies/gnats. I did turn them on and the blades moved slower than I anticipated BUT this is a good thing as there aren’t suppose to and still will work as they should. This is also a good “safety” feature as the blades are soft and will not cut or hurt a young child if touched. Don’t have to worry about the wind blowing items from the table and also provides somewhat of a decorative piece as well. I was at a picnic and the host had these and they worked, so I had to get my hands on some for upcoming BBQ’s. Can’t wait to use them.

We had one of these but decided to get more for other areas. We had a big bug problem at our last family reunion so one per table will barely be enough.They are supposed to be for flies but they end up being played with quite often.
