Installed part back in September 2024, now February 2025 broken again. My third cheap Chinese passenger sliding door cable. Why can’t they produce quality parts???? What a waste of money.

I needed to “modify” the fit to get it to work. There shouldn’t be a need to cut the OEM fitting to attach it to the vehicle. It works…I guess that’s the bottom line.

Of all the car parts I’ve purchased from Amazon, this was the best made. It fits well with no modifications needed. The color coded cables made it simple to know which way to install. The only complaint I have is the copy of instructions I received were blurry, like a copy of a copy.

I needed this to repair the passenger side door of my 2009 Toyota Sienna. The original cable failed and so the power sliding function no longer worked. This part was exactly what I needed to fix it. I completed the job successfully and this part saved me a ton of money vs taking the car in for the repair.I’ve never done anything more than change headlights and the car battery, so this job is the most in-depth project I’ve taken on myself when it comes to my mechanic skills. It took me all day, but I did it. I was able to complete it by following a YouTube video (“Toyota Sienna Sliding Doors” by The Car Care Nut). I followed the video, except for the part where he replaces the rear door latch, as mine was fine.I read previous comments regarding winding the cable around the spool. If you’re doing this job on the PASSENGER side, the silver cable gets wound on the motor-facing side of the spool, and the black cable goes on the other side. Also, you’ll need ~22 inches of each cable. Knowing this will make that part of the job a lot easier.Another tip: DON’T fully close the door at any point while you’re working on this. I took a break about halfway through the job and foolishly closed the door. I had to reconnect the main panel inside the door in order to get it open again, which added a lot of frustration.

It’s been a month since I installed this. The older sienna isn’t as easy to repair (requires pulling the window out) so it took me 4 hours. Door still works, so that’s good

This was not an easy install in the slightest & it broke after only THREE months!! It took several hours to install, while removing many components in the door. There weren’t comprehensive instructions included, but videos on YT helped. It wasn’t worth the effort for this product. Wish I could say it would last. Not worth the money!

I was happily surprised that this kit contained all the necessary parts and that it fit so well into the original installation spaces. The only issue I had was that, in the assembly directions, there was no indication about how many turns each cable needed on the spool, or, which cable was on the inside and which on the outside. (Turns out that the silver cable was on the outside and the black cable was on the sprocketed inside – nearest the motor. ) For me, I found success by mounting the motor assembly panel (black, with five bolts) on its space on the door, followed by the spool and then the plastic cover housing last. (This step, after the cable guide at the top of the door and The cables needed some re-rolling a few times to get the number of turns for each color cable absolutely correct. There didn’t seem to be an easier way because, in the end, each cable needed a little bit of tensioning from its built-in spring mechanism on each cable end. Yet..after all the disassembly and re-assembly, it’s in and working!! And…the part was very reasonably priced!! (Supplementary Hint: I changed the door support middle hinge before installing this cable assembly.https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09FT5L9SQ?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_detailsThe original hinge can likely fail – with some loss of the rotating bearing on at least 1 of 3 bearing surfaces. Once the new hinge is installed, the cable assembly can be dropped in from the top and its cable roller bolted to the top of the hinge center.

This fit well into my 2008 Toyota Sienna, and I was able to replace only this part at a fraction of the price. The single-sheet directions were just barely sufficient, but combined with the excellent steps from shareyourrepair.com I was able to do this myself in maybe 5 hours
