Rails bend easy
Would rather the rails to be one piece. Bends too easy when lifting it up to install. Pretty easy to install other than the bending that happens. Slides really smooth once everything is installed.

Quality kit, lots of options
It took me a while to get around to reviewing this, because it took me a while to get around to trying to install it.One thing that’s not explicitly clear until you’ve looked at the hardware more than the instructions is that the track is nicely adjustable in length, since it comes in six segments, each 16″ long (two end pieces, and up to four in the middle – five was just right for my somewhat odd double door of only 32″. Each track joint is held together with two quality screws, unlike many lower-quality DIY barn door products. When properly tightened (an Ikea-like Allen wrench is included, if you don’t have anything but basic tools), the joints are solid and immovable, but I’d still advise some putting Loctite on them during assembly to avoid anything vibrating loose down the line. Don Young does recommend using a header board, which is vital unless the track mounts happen to line up your studs , but is probably a good idea aesthetically, anyway.All of the hardware in this kit is well-made, and as I said, way better than other DIY barn door kits I’ve seen. The rollers are smooth and quiet, and everything fits well, and there are a couple of options for the door guides that mount to the floor, and another stop to mount on top of the door to keep the rollers from jumping off the track.My only gripe with the kit is that the instructions, while not exactly bad, aren’t really very good, either – for instance, they completely skip the placement and installation of the door stoppers (they are mentioned in the itemized component list, but never again), and if you want a pair in the middle as well as the ends (why else would they include four?), then you’d need to make sure to put those in place before hanging the track, or you’ll just have to remove it again to install them.All in all, though, this is a really nice kit for those cases where you need a barn door slide system that slides two doors from the middle to each side. Recommended.
