So easy to use and maintain!
All-Clad products are not cheap. I asked for this for my birthday and my hubby made me order it myself because he couldn’t make himself pay $150 for a single pot. I didn’t have this problem and am very happy that I got it…and so is he (now).I chose this pot for three reasons. The first is that it is still made in the USA. The second is that I am tired of replacing my cookware every 1-5 years and from what I gathered in other reviews, All-Clad products will survive anything short of an ACME anvil landing on them or a nuclear war. The third (and most reviewable) reason I chose this particular product is that I have always wanted a stock/pasta/soup/etc. pot that has the removable strainer. For the past several years I’ve been using a pasta pot that has a built-in strainer in the lid. On several occasions, I haven’t held the lid on tightly enough and have dumped an entire batch of pasta into the sink. This also happened when I used a colander set in the sink and poured the pasta/water into it. Trust me…when dinner is ready except for the noodles and your entire family is waiting…starting over from cold water is NOT what you want to be doing. This pot is wonderful for preventing such unfortunate events (and the ensuing temper tantrums…not to mention the hungry hubby and kids) and is so easy to use that my 9 year old was able to strain the pasta while I was busy handling another emergency. It was also great for making chicken stock from leftover roast chicken bones. I didn’t have to dirty another stock pot just to remove the bones, overcooked veggies and herb sachet. It is also very useful for soaking beans. When they were done soaking, I just strained them, dumped the starchy water and poured the beans back into the pot with other ingredients for soup. If I had been just making beans, I could have kept them in the strainer and just added more water to finish the cooking. One of the wonderful features that my hubby thought was a flaw is the fact that the strainer basket does not go all the way to the bottom of the pot. A lot of people don’t use enough water when cooking pasta so it takes a long time for the water to heat back up after adding the pasta and it ends up really gummy. The extra couple of inches guarantees a sufficient quantity of water AND has the added bonus of ensuring that nothing sticks to the bottom of the pot.In short, I recommend this to anybody looking for a versatile and easy to use pot that will last forever (barring invasion by Bugs Bunny or a hostile foreign country).

Nice Set, Very Tall, Made in China
This review is for All-Clad Specialty Stainless Steel 3 Piece Pot with Inserts – 12 Quart. I have been using All-Clad for many years. They are pinnacle of cookware. I have always wanted this set to use for pasta cooking and for steaming. Unfortunately, it is so tall that if you have an above-the-range microwave it will not fit. Also, I was really disappointed that this was not made in the USA like the rest of my All-Clad pieces. Other than that, the pieces seemed well put together with a good fit and finish.

WOW! What a GREAT Intermediate Size Stock Pot/Pasta Set!
We’re an All Clad family and purchased this based on the brand and the size.We are LOVING this pot. It’s just big enough for pasta for 4 without us having to use our giant stock pot & strainer. We also use it for small batches of soup and chili when we aren’t cooking for company or leftovers.AND…with the smaller size you can keep it with your other pots and pans (even sharing lids with some other All Clad pieces). With our larger stock pot / strainer we have to keep it in a high (out of the way) cupboard and it’s a pain to get out. This is the “just right” size!!The steel is a tiny bit thinner than that of our regular All Clad kitchenware, but it WORKS GREAT.Note that the base is bottom of the pot is an applied disc that ABSOLUTELY IS INDUCTION COMPATIBLE. The heavy magnetic base is PERMANENTLY attached and is key with this set. The walls of the pot are not as thick as your normal All Clad pots (they’re not “clad”), but who cares!?!? Honestly, it’s great that the bottom is heavy, but the pot is a bit lighter! This pot works great and has all of the GREAT looks and SUPERIOR cooking quality of our other All Clad pieces.Don’t be scared off by the low price…This Pasta Pot is WONDERFUL!!! Winner Winner, PASTA DINNER!!

A great edition to my kitchen, and invaluable for food preservation
So, let’s get a few things out of the way. Yes, unlike the more expensive All-Clad cookware items, this one is made in China. It is also not as heavy/ solid feeling as the d-5 pieces. That being said, I still like it. All of the pieces seem well made and durable. This set is easy to clean, and dishwasher safe. Compared to many other similar items here on Amazon, I still think this is a very good deal. The pasta insert has been wonderful to use for canning peaches or green beans, which need to be dipped into boiling water for a minute and then quickly removed. I don’t know that I will use it much for pasta unless I am cooking for a lot more people than normal. The steamer basket is also quite nice, although I haven’t used it as much yet. Both of the inserts are great additions to the 12 qt stock pot.My one complaint is how high up the pasta basket sits in the pot. You have to put several inches of water in the pot before you even hit the bottom of the pasta strainer. It may lack some of the fitness and perfection of All-Clad’s more expensive products, but for the ways I will be using it that won’t matter as much. Yes, most of the use I foresee involves soups or boiling water. While just about any pot could do these tasks, having functional and perfectly fitting inserts inside a sturdy, easy to clean pot makes this set a bargain for me.

Highly useful pot.
I love All Clad and this stockpot is wonderful. I have already used it for pasta and soup. The six quart size is perfect for me and fits my stove burners well. Easy to clean as well. Thanks again, All Clad.

Perfect Steamer pot
Bought this to steam tamales and it works perfectly. It’s AllClad, so it’s well made. Love the handles on the larger basket so it’s easy to lift the steamer out to add more water if necessary. Not cheap but a wonderful investment.

I like using this pot for soups and pasta. I highly recommend it.

Too small for family cooking. Constantly overflowing when at boiling point.

This All-Clad steel product is made in China.According to their website, customers can expect âBonded, Engineered, & Assembled in USAâ as they state, âOur fully bonded cookware is handcrafted by skilled craftspeople using the finest materials and revolutionary bonding processes, at our mill in Canonsburg, PA.âItâs with that expectation that this pasta pot would also have been made in the USA that I ordered it. Turns out thatâs not the case at all.The utility of the pot and strainer remains to be seen as I havenât tried it yet. Nonetheless, I am hugely disappointed by the misleading marketing message.

Great pot for large lots of pasta or for brewing small batches of beer. Great quality as i would expect from All-Clad, but not too heavy since it is not 3 or 5 ply, which would be overkill for a pot like this. The handle on the small steamer insert is the only potential weak part, because it is quite flimsy.
