Good for pantry light
Years ago the handyman installed a double pole outlet in the bottom of our pantry. One pole has a regular outlet and the other space holds a motion detector that activates the bottom plug. The motion detector failed. I bought this as a work around until such time as we can get the electrician in for a list of projects. I installed it into the upper plug and the rope LED lighting into it and it works great. I set it to stay on 1 minute and it detects automatically when I open the pantry door. There are multiple time settings from which you can choose. The only modification I had to make was adding a plug adapter since the top of this detector hit the wood brace for the shelf above and without the adapter would not push into the plug all the way. I happened to have one on hand so no real inconvenience.

Works as expected
Sensitivity is good and the timers accurate. Bought one and then a second as it was so good.

Not what was pictured but works
What came wasn’t what was pictured. I think that what was pictured would not have mattered what angle it was set up at. This one definitely needs to be vertical to pick up a wide range of motion horizontally. So, you can see what I had to do, in the case of our outlet that is horizontal. Works fine, just took more expense and effort…

Does not detect motion reliably
I had to replace my garage door opener recently and the new one had a greatly diminished built in light. So I bought one of these, thinking the motion of the garage door opening and closing would set off the 12000LM LED garage ceiling light I had plugged into it. It consistently worked during the day however it never activated it at night, which is what I purchased it for. I placed it at several outlets in the garage with the same result. Makes no sense why it would detect motion in the day but not at night.

Great for garage door light
I plugged this motion-activated control into my garage ceiling and into the device’s outlet a hanging light rope to act as a guide because I suck at backing my car into the garage. Every time the garage door opens, it triggers the motion sensor and the guide light comes on!If the device were plugged into a wall, the range of detection would be what seems to be within a horizontal plane, which makes sense as you’d normally plug it in somewhere that intersects people’s pathways. With it plugged into my ceiling, detection is a vertical plane which works out to be from the garage door in front of my car to right behind where I park my car.The packaging states that the detection range is 25 feet. Due to the garage door motor obstructing my sensor’s view, the range is artificially restricted to 15 feet, but if I walk anywhere within the sensor’s view plane or open the garage door, it triggers the motion detection, which is perfect for my purposes.There’s a loud click when power to the device’s outlet is activated.The sensor’s power-on timer can be set to 4 seconds, 1, 2, 5, 10, or 20 minutes. I set mine to 20 minutes and it stays on for the expected time.(In the video the light blinks because that’s what the light does by design when first powered on.)By the way, to clear up some people’s confusion, this device does not contain any built-in lighting. The clear panel is the motion sensor. The motion sensor activates the electrical outlet.

OK product.
Wanted to use it to turn on a 6″ fan connected through a small USB plug into a transformer which was then plugged into the motion sensor switch. Didn’t work. May be no fault of the item, but not really sure. Wish the description had been specific about this limitation.
