Awesome fan, but needs white controller and glass shade option
This is a fantastic fan. DC motor for this. Heal is awesome, as it is dead silent. The build quality is great, way better than the fan the builder put in that cost 2x.Itâs bright and changing the brightness with the dimmer is easy. The light temp is great because sometimes I want it to be moody and sometimes I need bright light. All the functionality is great, and the fan speed is fantastic too. Other reviews mention it doesnât move air⦠I have no idea what theyâre talking about. This thing MOVES! Maybe they accidentally reversed the fan spin direction, so just press the button on the controller to see if the spin is reversed. That pulls air upward for the winter, so you wonât feel air below you.Two main gripes for me:- plastic light shade. I am a fan of glass light shades. It diffuses the light better and feels more luxurious. The plastic shade feels flimsy and cheap. I donât care if people say plastic transmits light better. I hate that fans are moving in this direction in general.- black controller. Are you serious? Give me a white controller for the white fan. Amico please listen! This is my only fan that has a black controller and every other fan in my house is Amico as well as my parentâs house.Which also means itâs dead easy to install. Iâve installed maybe 10 Amico fans. The first time might take a little longer but honestly itâs so easy to do once you get the hang of it. The instructions are wonderful.I also cannot review the Wi-Fi capabilities. I never connected it. There are lots of useful smart home things. A ceiling fan is not one of them in my opinion. Just keep it turned off and save yourself the headache. Also, a tip: if you buy a light plate that is two gang with one blank side, the controller can fit perfectly on that with the screws! I added another screw hole by drilling a hole and using a 6/32 screw with a locking nylon nut on the back to keep it stable. But you can achieve the same thing by using the regular screw hole and some mounting tape. Now I wonât lose my controller and the fan specific switch is useful, as I donât think you can wire this fan up to have a separate switch for the fan alone.

Quiet and great airflow in a very sleek design!
After 35 years, our old Bahama Breeze ceiling fan died unceremoniously during our extended Texas summer.Enter Amico and we couldn’t be more pleased with our pick. The fan is super quiet, sleek in design and moves a lot of air. Six fan speeds and LED lights with an array of hues and brightness levels. The remote controls it all.The exceptional price, easy installation and satisfying results make this an easy review to write.

Iffy electronics, great customer service
I’ll say this up front: I am happy with this fan now, and Amico has great customer service and seems to really want to improve product quality, but the product quality is less than perfect at this time. The fan is dead-silent and very balanced straight out of the box. It has smooth operation and is light-years better than the Hampton Bay fan I replaced it with. The lighting is nice and bright, diffuse, and I don’t detect a lot of flicker when I dim the LEDs. I can’t speak to long-term durability/reliability yet, but now that I have everything working, I do like this fan a lot. I have forgotten about the smart home features–I’ll update this review if I have anything to say about that later.I did say, however, “now that I have everything working”…Amico doesn’t appear to be a fly-by-night, alphabet-soup-named, Chinese-dropshipping company. The installation brochure is very well done, and while I found their phone support option to be lacking (it is a callback service with 24-hour turnaround time, rather than a live human, so why bother using that versus email?), their email support is excellent. They do take 24-hours to respond, but if you can wait, they are interactive and interested in helping you. When I hooked the fan up to AC power, the part called the “receiver”, which houses all the electronics, gave out a puff of smoke as it short circuited and died. I asked customer service what they wanted to do, and they said immediately that they’d send me a replacement receiver. But, what impressed me is that they also asked if I wouldn’t mind opening up the defective receiver and taking pictures of the electronics so they could talk to their supplier about what went wrong. I was able to open it up and find the chip package that had obviously shorted out and sent them a picture. So, they didn’t just chuck a new receiver at me and say “our defect rate is fine”–it seemed that they actually wanted to improve the quality of their product. This is the primary reason that this review went from three stars to four stars. The second receiver worked without flaw. The only other problem I had with installation was that the light didn’t work properly at first. I could see the LEDs trying to activate, but they would just flash dimly and turn back off. I then also noticed that some of them seemed to be stuck in an always-on state, but very very dim–you could only see it at night with the lights off. I contacted support and they said that it could be a bad connection, so they asked me to unplug the connections and reconnect them to see if that fixed the issue. Lo and behold, it did. This problem is a little worrisome, as I know that one of the connectors (the one on the receiver, and I had two of them, remember, so I know it’s the same on both of them) didn’t really seem to have a positive locking tab that worked well, and the other connector (which ended up being the bad connection), which is the one at the LED fixture itself, seemed like it was pretty idiot-proof. Why didn’t it work on the first try? I see other reviews talking about this issue as well.My last comment is that the receiver doesn’t really have a bracket or anything that it sits on–the instructions just kind of have you throwing it up into the fan mount and it kind of just loosely gets crammed in there, which doesn’t feel great to me. Make sure you don’t pinch any wires/cut any of your wire insulation when you do this, and make sure that none of the wires could get abraded on the fan mount over time.Long and short of it though, is I would buy this product again (indeed, I may do so as I have another room fan to replace), but I do consider myself a little bit handy, and maybe others would not be as thrilled to deal with this installation process and the defects they may encounter. I never just return things immediately to Amazon when they don’t go right–it’s just too wasteful to do that. I hope others give this fan a chance and contact customer service if they have an issue.

Cheap electrical connectors
Typical assembly of unit for hanging and connections for any brand ceiling fan. What I was really annoyed with was after I got it all assembled I was trying to make sure that the antenna wear was out and all of a sudden they noticed two of the control plugs head disconnected from one another. I tried everything to get them to stay together after reconnecting them and they just would not work. I’m not going to take down and disassemble and send back for one little stupid plastic connector that they should have spent an extra $0.10 on. I ended up putting the connector together and then wrapping it with electrical tape to keep the connection made. The other thing was I’m not real pleased with the amount of air flow put out from a 52-in fan. It does not compare to other ones I’ve had that have put out huge volumes of air. Appearance is nice. LED light is nice. LED can be color changed via remote control. Quiet motor. Very little vibration when mounted properly. Comes with two downrods for different height ceilings. It’s very frustrating that all the effort and time that went into hanging this and assembling it and making the house electrical connections was ruined because of a stupid cheap plastic electrical connector. Based on that quality I don’t think I’d buy another one.
