I’ve installed a few barn door kits in my time and my bad for not realizing that this kit (as compared to the other versions that I’ve previously used) ships with the rail in 5 separate pieces. The pieces join together jigsaw style at each location of a mounting bolt, and the spacer/hanger that holds the rail off the wall has a special fitting that bolts the two pieces of rail together at that location.It’s clever from the standpoint of minimizing the cost to ship a kit like this, because it can all fit into a box that’s maybe 5x5x18. But it also doesn’t make for the most stable of installations because the way the rail sections fit together allows for a bit of wiggle room–it’s not exactly a precision fit. So there may be some alignment issues or slight gaps in the rail, which will translate to the door rollers not riding as smoothly over the rail as it passes over the joints.Other than that, the rest of the kit seems pretty good; the door rollers spin smoothly on bearings, and they’re made of what seems like quality plastic that should wear well. It has all the other necessary bits and pieces for the install. I may end up just buying a separate piece of flat steel bar to replace the sectioned rail.As long as you know and are okay with this type of rail (and you’re probably saving some money as a result), then I think you’ll be happy with this kit.

In the house we rent there is a separate dining room to the right of the front door with a large arched door way. I have turned it into my craft room. As any crafter knows our rooms are always a mess! I was looking at doors for it and it was well into $500+ and not even cute options. So I bought this door kit. I bought 3/4” plywood and some heavy duty glue. With an archway the wood framing is not standard so we had to think out of the box.We had this glass mirror that was in the garage not being used so I glued it to the front. It was easy to install the track using a 2×4 into the studs for stability and functionality making it more durable all around. I was able use the other side of the door to function as more craft storage. This was beyond worth the value and functionality than expected! Amazon for the win!

My customer was very pleased with this hardware on their bathroom door.Be aware you need to assemble the track, comes with instructions. Easy to read.Recommend either solid blocking in the wall to mount to or, a 1″ x 4″ wood rail mounted to studs. I would not trust the plastic anchors that come with the kit.

I’m a contractor and ordered this kit to hang a custom barn door for a customer. The bar comes in multiple pieces that fit together, then get screws. But it’s a bit floppy because the mating mechanism are pretty loose. So to make a level bar across the top of the opening, you need to use an independent straight edge, like a level, to make sure it doesn’t end up wavy on the wall. It worked out okay, but I don’t think I’ll buy it again.
