Impressive little drill with a couple of minor flaws
Impressive power for a small drill, and cheap! (You can get two of these for the price of most drills.) And this is the only cheap drill I’ve found out there with variable speed control, which is very helpful when making initial drill holes, etc.Two minor downsides: The collet (the dial with 1-10 settings for how much force to max out at) is pretty useless: even at 10 it will tap out before setting a screw in anything but soft wood. This is avoidable by not using the collet (i.e. set it on the ‘screw’ setting on the dial), but this does mean you may wind up overscrewing sometimes if you’re not careful.The chuck also arrived in a very stiff state: I couldn’t get it to move at all initially, even using some rubber lid openers to grab it. I finally got it to move by setting the dial to ‘screw’ and using the drill itself to break it loose. After the initial breaking loose, the collet is now totally fine.I bought a set of these so I can finally stop having to switch between drillling bits and screwdriver bits all the time. Overall I’m quite happy with them, esp at the price.

I’m not handyman but this thing did the trick. I mounted some shelves!
I had a set of book shelves and wanted to put two short “floating ” shelves on one side. I wanted to drill two small “starter” holes where the mounting screws would go and use the drill to actually drive the screws in. But my previous drill bought at Home Depot in 2010 could barely make its drill bits turn at all, much less make a hole or turn a screw. It was a good drill, if a bit bulky. But I used it only two or three times over 12 years and Florida’s humidity put it out of its misery. This new drill is less bulky but still not terribly maneuverable. But it did the trick– after I ordered a set of drill bits. The drill came with nothing to actually drill a hole, just two reversible bits for driving screws. I noticed that the drill would come without drill bits so I ordered what I thought was a reasonable set of drill bits and screw driver bits. But the nice set of bits were only screw driver bits. I now have bits for four kinds of screws.I still had nothing to drill a hole. The drill came the same day I ordered it. (That still amazes me!) I had to wait a few days for the set of bits. Finally I discovered that I still couldn’t drill a hole. So I ordered the second set of bits for drilling. They took over a week to arrive. But finally I could and did drill the holes and mount the shelves. My phone and universal remote hub look right at home. My only serious complaint about the drill is that it didn’t come with a small set of drill bits. The write-up should say something like “Buy this and wait a week for the drill bits!” 🙂

For price and weight it, so far, is a great addition to my house repair kit.Needed a portable as my other one has a short cord and is heavy and a pain for tight or outdoor spaces at my garden apartment complex.This is great for garden fencing etc. I hope the battery lasts a long time as I don’t use it much.We’ll see.
