Does Not Stick
Visually, these stair mats are fun and cute. Functionally, they will hopefully not be a problem.I cleaned the stairs really well before putting them down on untreated wood steps. 2/10 stickiness. They wonât move too much when youâre stepping on them, but shift they if you step in the center. Afraid this might make my steps MORE unsafe.Installation was surprisingly tedious. The plastic film on the back took about 2 minutes to remove for each step. The film just rips into smaller pieces when removing.The fit was good, but I measured my steps and ordered the size I needed, so Iâm not going to credit the producer for that.These are decently thick, definitely not flimsy.Would not order again. Would probably look for a different manufacturer.

No Slip If You Have Back Risers
We’re fixing up our basement which is barely finished and I wanted to put these on the steps to make them look a little better. Our steps are bare wood and open backed. Because they are opened back these have more opportunity to move around than if they were closed risers.I thought the backs of these would stick a little but they’re more like the bottom of a no-slip sock. Also, for some reason when they arrive, the bottoms are covered in a plastic film that you have to remove in order to use them. My husband struggled to remove this film, I faired better, but we did notice that they stitched the edging over the plastic film which made it harder to get it all off.The material of these is really nice, the colors are great, we got the pattern we did because it had a mid century feel and that is a style we really like. We did end up stapling ours down on our steps because we were worried they were going to move around. If they are snug on your stairs you might not have this issue but I didn’t want to be carrying up a heavy laundry basket and trip on them.
