Braun always brews good coffee . . .
In the past, the last two Braun’s we owned were Brew Sense and have always been pleased with the taste of each brew from this model. In looking for a replacement, I did note that we never used all the selections for brewing coffee. We never felt the need to change how it brewed coffee as it always tasted good at the initial setting. Therefore, I thought this one would be fine since as we never feel the need to make changes. I was surprised at how much taller this one is to the Brew Sense model and it makes 14 cups versus 12 which I did not notice when looking into. I was a little leery about setup from reading reviews and left that part up to my husband who stated it was not an issue. He followed directions, put in water filter, ran a full carafe of cold water, and in the morning we enjoyed a flavorful cup of hot coffee. My husband said the coffeemaker beeped when coffee had finished brewing which was never a feature of Brew Sense. Braun has always been a favorite brand as we can always depend on it to provide a great cup of coffee.Update 7/16/24: Well I am sorry to report that this is leaking at the top down to the warming plate. This is very disappointing as I have had several Braun’s and never had this issue. So a new coffee pot has been order to replace. Purchased in September 2023.

Superb Coffeeâ¦ Only One Snafu
I recently purchased this Braun Coffee Maker because my old reliable Cuisinart wasnât so reliable anymore. Braun is a respectable company and I loved the esthetics of this machine. Best thing of all, it makes exceptional coffee! My only complaint is that the measuring lines on the carafe have all but disappeared. I have resorted to drawing lines with a Sharpie on the outside of the glass. Iâve only had it a few months.

Failed after 8 months
This coffee maker worked fine for 8 months until it abruptly quit–however:* I was never once able to set the clock without having the manual open in front of me* I was never able to get it to enter the descaling mode without the manual open in front of me* The design is such that any water spilled while filling the reservoir pours down around the hotplate instead of being trapped in the filter.* The controls are basically indecipherable without the manual. Like, instead of the descaler flashing when you need to descale like the manual says, it flashes when you power on the unit and until you start brewing, but only sometimes.Honestly, this is not a terrible machine and certainly not the worst I’ve owned, and the 14 cup capacity was nice and at least the caraf wasn’t a dribble glass like the last coffee maker I had. And in fairness, it failed under warranty and I didn’t bother to file a claim. Why? Because they wouldn’t fix it, they’d just send a new one with the same defect and patch mine and sell it to some hapless sod as “refurbished,” and I’m just sick of the whole disposable appliance economy after going through six coffee makers in 20 years.So I shelled out $300 for a Technivorm Moccamaster KBGV, an automatic drip coffee maker from the Netherlands designed in 1968 and still made with little update, with no effing clock and no effing program mode and only two controls: On/Off and full/half pot. I’m sure it won’t be perfect, but it’s one of the few consumer appliances still made to be easily repairable–forever, with every single part accessible and replaceable.

WOW!!! And I thought I had a good Coffee Maker!
I used to have a Mr Coffee Automatic Drip 8-12C Coffee Maker which served me well for over a decade but it started having issues in that the Teflon Coating on the Keep Warm Plate started cracking and Flaking off during repeated cleanings with a soft sponge. This lead to the exposed metal of the Keep Warm Plate beginning to rust. The rust lead to a countless multitude of micro scratches in the form of parallel lines of arc about a third of the way round the bottom of the glass carafe because every time I poured a cup, I always placed the carafe back on the Keep Warm Plate and rotated the carafe to position the handle out of the way to the right. I became concerned that if I bumped the carafe on anything , that it might develop a stress crack all the way through the glass which would eventually extend and cause the carafe to shatter as the Carafe was used again and again if I didn’t catch it right away. Time for a new Coffee Maker. I chose this one and made my first pot of coffee with it by selecting the BOLD Brew Option, and all I can say is WOW!!! I never knew what I was missing out on! Same Folgers Classic Roast. Same Water Source. Different Coffee Maker; and WOW!!! I don’t know about cleaning it yet. Today is simply DAY ONE, and WOW!!! I love that it has a FOUR HOUR Auto Shut off as compared to my old CM’s 2 hr. I love that it has a built-in Cleaning cycle! Braun has seriously thought about the customer when they went to work designing this model! All I can say is WOW!!!

It’s only ok
Our prior Braun coffee maker, an older 10 cup model made in eastern Europe, finally died.We bought this 14 cup replacement based on the excellent performance of our older Braun.This new model has a few more features but it takes longer to brew and is more difficult to use. As others noted it’s difficult to add water but not impossible.Today, about a month after purchasing I’m noticing the coating is peeling off the hot plate. After calling Braun I’m finding out that this is caused by leaving residual water on the bottom of the carafe. Apparently, after filling and spilling water the owner needs to pull the carafe and dry the bottom and the hot plate. I haven’t been doing that.Fortunately if the coating peels off the function is not impaired.

Es una buena cafetera ,pero se me hace que si hace un poco de desastre si no se limpia al instante despuÃ©s de usar porque que salpica ,hace las misma function que una cafetera de menor precio y el filtration de agua es difÃcil de limpiar si se ensucia .

I like the 14-Cup capacity. The #4 cone filter works well in this unit. The carafe pours very well and is ergonomic. The carafe glass is thin making it fragile. The hot element coated with thin Teflon enamel shows wear within weeks if use. I like the water indicator so you can make the amount of coffee cups you wish to brew. I found it easy enough to program and the clock LED is well lit when itâs brewing and visible on stand-by mode. Iâm happy with it after looking at many coffeemaker options. Best feature is how it timely infuses the coffee before it starts the brewing process. Makes excellent bold good tasting coffee. Overall the quantity of 14 cups is its selling feature. The bold brew option makes great coffee as I mentioned. You can hear the coffee maker brewing and gurgling when itâs brewing. The three audible beeps to announce the coffee is ready is faint to the ear. The clean and descaling mode when flashing orange takes approximately 20 minutes with descaling solution. I purchased a gallon of descaling solution from home hardware making it more cost efficient. Using the coffee maker daily the clean me light turns on every 4 months for the descaling process. Big D
