Easy to install and look great on the stairs
I moved upstairs in my home and took my elderly dog with me. He seems to slip around going up and down the plain wooden steps so I ordered these carpet stair treads to put on the steps so he has something to grip with his feet. I didn’t want something that would glue down and wasn’t sure how these would work. But they work great. There is a sort of sticky backing that holds them in place but leaves no residue on the steps. They are easily removed and repositioned when being installed. The hardest part was cleaning my steps prior to putting them in. My steps are painted dark brown and these complement the steps very well. Easy to apply. Pull off the protective backing and press on the steps. The directions say that these can be washed but I haven’t had them on the steps long enough for them to get dirty. I will probably sweep and vacuum them before I wash in the washer. And I’ll use spot cleaning before putting them in the clothes washer. The dog is having less slipping going up and down so these work great.

Works great for older dogs!
Our little pupper turned 18(!) this past year. Our basement is finished, but the stairs are steep. He has a hard time getting up and down the stairs.I figured these might give him more traction, and they did! It turns out that our dogâs biggest motivation for not using the stairs is being spoiled and lazy and still wanting to be carried everywhere like a sultan on a litter, but at least he canât say he canât physically get up the stairs anymore. The treads are comfortable, although they take a bit getting used to at first due to their thickness. I thought Iâd be at a higher risk of tripping, but so far, nothing of the sort has come up.I only took off one star because the sides tend to stick up slightly for some time after installation. Iâm sure theyâll eventually go down, but theyâre very stubborn.

Durable & Well-Designed!
Really nice compared to others I’ve tried! The stitched edges especially stand out as going the extra mile compared to similar products when it comes to durability, & the whole back-side being made of a sticky foam material instead of just rubber should help keep them in place better too. I was actually surprised to see that on something claiming to be machine washable, but if the stickiness remains after a wash these beat the others in every possible way!I haven’t had these long enough yet to try washing them to see how they hold up through that, but I’ll update this review when I do with the results. For now I’d say these are 5 stars easily, 4 stars if the sticky backing doesn’t hold up through the wash.

Cupped and curled on the ends
The carpet is heavy material, I would describe it as commercial grade. The border edge binding is well sewn and strong and feels like it will hold up to a lot of foot traffic. There is a thin film on the back that needs to be removed to expose the tacky spongy material on the back of the runners that adheres to the floor. This film is sewn beneath the edge binding which caused it to tear easily when you pull it off and you end up with tiny pieces of film that are tedious to remove. I thought I would have figured out how to remove the film in one piece by the time I got to the last one but, No.I waited ten days before reviewing these hoping that the runners would settle down along the ends, but they haven’t. They are cupped and curl up on the ends. I’ve been crab walking up and down the stairs to put more wait on them but they still pull away from the floor on the ends.Other than the ends the stair runners hold well to the floor, but the tacky backing isn’t strong enough to hold the ends down. I might try some butyl tape.If they settle down I would probably change the review to 4 stars because of the quality of the material but right now it’s not very attractive and annoying.

Well Made, Good Size, Looks Great!
As the title says, these seem to be very well made. They cover almost the entire step and theyâre appealing to look at. I appreciate that they add a little more grip to the top of the wood steps and I think make them less slippery and hopefully a little safer. This is the first time Iâve had stairs that arenât completely carpeted and the first time Iâve used anything on stairs other than just full carpeting. I am very happy with these and think that the size, quality and amount that are included makes it a decent buy.

Brown color is as expected
We got these for a wood staircase that is ebony in color and very slippery due to the shiny wood. They fit well in length and width and were very easy to install. The wood tone of the stair treads compliments the tone of the ebony steps so they look great. The quality is good but not excellent as there were sections where the sewing was off. Overall they do the job of preventing slips but if you are looking for high quality, look elsewhere.

More like Indoor/ Outdoor Carpeting â¦and Thatâs a Good Thing
Replacing some older stair carpet, this is much nicer. I love the color of the light grey. I am also happy with the material, itâs not plush like the old carpet, which is much more practical. I think I could just sweep these off.The old ones had to be vacuumed, which was a pain. To do it right you had to take them off the stairs, so honestly they just stayed dirty a lot. Please forgive the appearance of my stairs, we are still redoing them but I wanted to show the difference!

i feel safer now
i have had other cheaper non-slip treads, but these are much nicer. the old ones were very light and did not stay in place very well. these are nice, thick and cushiony and they have a border sown all around it so the edges do not curl like my old ones. they can also be thrown in the washing machine and come out like new
