Feels nice on touch. Practical grip.
I got this pack to replace an existing, similar stair tread carpet from Amazon. The older ones didn’t have any anti-slip treatment on the backing—even thought they said it did—and annoyingly kept moving around. This product certainly has a better grip on the surface; as long as the stair surfaces are clean enough, the sticky backing won’t move around easily unless you pick the piece up.The thickness is pretty nice and provides a touch of padding when stepping on them. While it’s not natural jute material, the texture feels very pleasant on bare foot and the color looks charming on hard wood stairs. As another reviewer mentioned, however, the non-slip backing doesn’t extend all the way to the edges where there’s stitching around all borders. For me it doesn’t cause any issues because my stairs are deeper than these treads, but if your stairs are shallower, these pieces might become a trip hazard as they might stick out.All in all, a great, cost-effective product for me, and I’d definitely recommend it. Just make sure to measure the space beforehand.

I was hoping for a better quality, there are many brands out there so I would look around a little. I have not put them on yet so I can’t say how well they stick.

Well they came folded. Which ruined them. Who FOLDS CARPET??? THEY CAME FOLDED IN A TINY BOX. Shame on the manufacturer. There is legit no way to get the curve out . I even sat heavy stuff on them hoping to fix it. But nope.

I have very steep stairs in my historic home and my Labrador Daisy is afraid to climb them so I wanted something temporary and stylish. The treads are very pretty but way too thin. So thin that the adhesive backing does not stick well and each tread curls in the center.

These are thin polyester carpet tiles for stair treads, with a 3/8 inch finished edge. Though the finished edge looks nice, there is no adhesive backing on the edges. This creates a trip hazard, as the front edge is not secured to the step an can create a trip hazard if the carpet tile goes all the way to the edge of the stair tread, as is the case for my basement stairway installation. The photo showing an adhesive surface to the edges is a inaccurate. The top finish is a very flat weave, with no depth. I laughed when reading the included care instructions that tell you to machine wash them.

A few of the treads had some kind of stain/residue but I was anxious to get them on the stairs for the dog so I just cleaned them with soap and water. They came folded loosely in half – not a great choice – but I didn’t bother to do anything about it and the crease has mostly settled down over the last week.Half of the treads plastic backing didn’t come off easily and that was a pain; the static cling was amazingly airborne and agile, quickly sucking itself to the walls (it came off easily enough but seriously didn’t expect that).Overall I liked that they are an inch deeper than most and work well on my stairs but more importantly for my dog with the low pile.Good, bad or otherwise they do a good job of capturing dog hair so I’ll take the silver lining that it gets trapped in one easy place to vacuum vs. all over the treads and below. The corners don’t have any sticky backing so some are still sticking up but I’m choosing to ignore that.Though I was torn, I kept it probably for the #1 reason that the color is really fantastic, neutral and blends nicely with my decor.

OK. Let me just say that I read the other negative reviews and I disagree with all of them. These are fantastic! They are beautiful, sleek, they look expensive – they aren’t just slabs of carpet, they are incredibly well made, with well constructed edges, they stick like crazy, and they are thick.Other reviewers complained about: They were folded because they came in a box (omg), the lip creates a tripping hazard, they don’t stick, they are too thin, they aren’t made of jute. I found zero issues with any of these.Mine also came folded in a box and also had a fold marks, once you stick them down (by removing the plastic backing), the fold is gone. Some of mine were wrinkled and even the wrinkles were gone once they were stuck down. The lip creates a tripping hazard: There is no way you can trip over these, it is literally impossible, unless you climb stairs on your toes and on the edges. Or perhaps if you install the tread hanging over the edge of the stair, maybe then sure. They don’t stick: I wonder if reviewers removed the backing and/or if they gave the stair a quick wipe down before sticking them down? I think many people missed that there is a removable plastic backing on these honestly, they stick like crazy! They also re-stick like crazy, I had to make several adjustments and they were easy to pull up and easy to stick down again. They are too thin: Uh, no. They are almost too thick. I’m not sure what the reviewer complaining about them being too thin was talking about. They bend in the middle: They don’t, they stick down flat. If you look at the reviewers picture you can see they bend in the middle because they are too long for the treads they were placed on.Measure first. They aren’t made of jute: They are not, the name of the color is “Jute beige” – if you read further it will tell you what these are made of and it is not jute.I LOVE THESE! I’ll be buying another set for the stairs going up to the 3rd floor. And for 15 treads at $40? It’s a great price!
