absolutely no tools needed
These are great! I bought my first bookcases in this style over 40 years ago and they have lasted beautifully. I bought three bookcases of this version recently. They are perfect. They are attractive, made with real wood and quite sturdy. The best thing about them however is they require absolutely no tools and effort. You open the box, spread open the end panels and drop the shelves down. It takes 30 seconds. I love them, and I plan to order at least 3 more.

Perfect for the shows I attend
I go to various craft and metaphysical shows in my area. Having a good-looking and sturdy display without having to shell out massive amounts of cash can be a challenge. I ordered two of these black Montego 3-Shelf Folding bookcases by Casual Home and I have to say I am pretty impressed.There is no assembly required. Each shelf can hold up to 25 lbs – which is important because I also sell books at these shows, so it’s a must. They fold very neatly, and store flat. They are stackable; however, the manufacturer recommends that you have two people if you planstack them. The fit is tight, but it’s fairly sturdy. If you do use them in the stacked mode, it is also recommended that they be anchored securely into a wall stud. The necessary hardware to do this is also included. I will probably be using these in the shop during the off season. These are so nice, I am considering putting them in my home as well.

Versatile and attractive
We needed book shelving for the basement and because these collapse they are easier to move up and down stairs. I’ve had similar shelves but gave them to grand children for college dorm living. These are even better because of the crossed ends… the books won’t fall off the sides. They seem to be sturdy enough for our needs although we’ve had heavier and larger bookcases… that cost a whole lot more and were really difficult to move.

Excellent for small spaces
This is a beneficial piece of furniture that can be used for home display of different items besides books. Also, I am an art festival vendor; it is portable and can be easily folded to accommodate transporting.

Very wobbly
The shelf looks nice and easy to set up. But it is very unstable and wobbly. I asked Amazon for a replacement but the second one is no better.

Easy to set up and well packaged
I bought this to use it at events because it is collapsible, thus making it great for storage, and also that it fits easily in my vehicle. It is also light enough for me to carry, set up on top of my display table, and load back in the car. I love the care taken to pack it well so that it arrived in perfect condition.
