This table was listed as aluminum, but it is not. Due to the chemical composition of aluminum, it does not tarnish black in a normal household environment unless exposed to extreme heat or harsh chemicals. The table has the appearance of pewter, and after performing a scratch test, it tested positive for lead.After three months, I noticed my white chair next to the table turning black. Perplexed, I ran a dry paper towel over the table, and the entire towel turned black. This is completely unacceptable—this product should be recalled.I have a 1-year-old and a 3-year-old, and I am throwing this away immediately due to the health risk. On top of that, it ruined my chair. Avoid this at all costs.

Piece arrived very well-packaged, with a few “scuffs” and small imperfections, but no dents or other serious deficiencies. As an end (or small coffee) table, unit seems sturdy and stable enough to support typical table “stuff” (like books, remotes, glassware, etc), but would not use this for seating (people). Table is reversible, and finish is shiny. Quality overall is good, but at $165, table is seriously overpriced (“standard” for hammered pieces.)
