    Best Coffee I’ve Ever Had!
I guess I’m a coffee snob. I’ve roasted my own beans for 10 years, have owned many fancy coffee makers including the Ninja coffee bar, three Nespresso makers that use the capsules, Keurigs, three Chemex, Aeropress, French press and multiple pour over units. But my every day go to was the Bunn and has been for 20 years in which I owned four. But lately, no matter how dark I roast my beans or how many grounds I used, my Bunn coffee was weak. My daughter has the De’Longhi and I spent a week at her house drinking this coffee which was rich and wonderful no matter what bean she used. Even the “light” setting produced a cup that was so full of flavor, clean yet bold. I promptly came home and ordered one for myself as a Christmas present. I was reluctant given the many negative reviews. And even though this is not the most expensive coffee machine I’ve ever purchased, I was nervous and wondered if I would get the same great coffee as my daughters, she uses bottled water and I use well water. My fears all unfounded as this coffee is absolutely perfect every cup every time! It’s like an espresso machine that makes coffee as there is always a little crema on top which is amazing! I add honey and half and half and sometimes a little heavy whipping cream and feel like I’ve just been to a cafe!Pros: I like the one cup at a time. No coffee in the pot sitting on the warmer getting stale and burnt like a truck stop restaurant at 2 in the morning! A fresh cup every time! I’m actually drinking less coffee and using less beans which is great! Two cups every morning and I’m good! Not drinking more just because there’s more in the pot and I don’t want to waste it! Win!No paper filters to buy! It extracts the coffee using an infuser so you get all the rich goodness of the fresh ground coffee! There is nothing better than fresh ground coffee! The array of cup sizes are great! In the morning I make two 12 oz and in the afternoon an 8 oz. There is no need to buy the one with the carafe, it’s way more expensive and just not necessary. My daughter has the one with the carafe and she has never used it! Even if you have company and everyone gives it a workout, it can handle it and your company will enjoy a hot fresh cup every time!Cons: To me there are none! Yeah it’s a little noisy, but that noise means I’m getting ready to have a great cup of coffee! The clean up for me is no more than I did in the Bunn, dumping the filtered grounds in the trash and rinsing the pot. With the De’Longhi, I dump the grounds in the compost bucket and dump the rinse water, no big deal. Occasionally there are grounds inside and under the infuser, again, not a big deal for the quality of the coffee you get. I think the mess people talk about is when you don’t do this often enough and the rinse water container overflows. I do it every afternoon after our coffee drinking is over for the day so I start the next morning with everything empty. I also fill the water tank then too. I just use a pitcher so I’m not taking off the tank every time. This only takes a few minutes. And that’s it! I am so happy with this machine I want to buy another one just to have a back up! This is the coffee I’ve always wanted to have at home but could only get it at a cafe or coffee house. The Bunn was good for a fast pot of coffee but it has been retired, permanently!

    Great in concept…lacking in performance
Love the idea of the true brew coffee maker. Promises a lot. Make by the cup, iced or hot, adjustable ounces of coffee, varying temperatures, varying coffee strengths and customer service promises. You can’t use flavored or dark roast as the oils will damage grinder and void warranty. This needs to be clearer in description. I have used medium bodied coffee (same I use for my $24 French press) but unless I brew 3oz coffee and make several to fill my cup, the coffee is quite weak. I have the strength setting to Gold. Reached out to try and troubleshoot via email with very specific detail on model I have and issue. They responded several days later asking for model number and detail in order to assist. The info they gave to find info wasn’t accurate (details and model behind water reservoir). I emailed right back and have sent two additional follow up emails without any reply. I tried calling and was placed on a very long hold only to be disconnected. The design of the coffee maker is great. Promising function but doesn’t deliver and I should have listened more close to all the negative feedback about customer support. I expected more for a $500 machine. I would expect to get a solid cup of a good strength coffee but it doesn’t perform. I had been debating on the full function espresso machine with milk frothed and grinder until this model came out. The $1600 for that model is significant and with their lack of customer support I am quite uneasy investing in this more expensive product. Beware, read the low ratings and do your research before purchasing. I thought that all the negative feedback on their customer care was fabricated but it definitely know first hand it is accurate. UPDATE: problem again after 6 months. Strength of coffee is extremely weak and it doesn’t brew hot coffee. It’s been two weeks since I was promised a return label and box for repair. Still nothing after the promise of 3-5 days. Have had to call numerous times to get label and box and it took over 40 minutes and still no resolution. I love the concept of the all in one and if it worked, it would be perfect. I can deal with the slight mess of the water reservoir used to clean after each cup. I know others mention it as well. I just want a solid cup of coffee that is hot.

No funcionó el molino. Estábamos muy ilusionados con los review que vimos. Sin embargo, al momento de querer preparar café no tuvimos éxito puesto que salió defectuosa.

I’m writing this while enjoying an extra large, fresh ground, fresh brewed, cup of coffee. With one cream and one sugar. That might be more information than you want. But that is what you’re getting. I specifically waited a few weeks before writing this review just so I could give you a fair opinion about this machine.I have to admit. I was more than hesitant to buy this machine after reading some of the reviews. You know the ones. The same ones whining about the cleanup, the quality, yadda yadda. After all, it is a lot of money to put down on a coffee machine. I’m here to tell you. Put those concerns aside. If you’re not spending the kids college fund, or using the money set aside to pay your power bill (you’ll obviously need that power just to brew the coffee). I’m telling you, make the purchase. You will be happy, dare I say, even a little giddy walking up to this, relatively large, machine in the morning and seeing your freshly ground, freshly brewed coffee sitting there just waiting for you to take your first sip and start your day properly.Cleaning the machine is pretty easy. Everything comes apart very easily. The grounds can be quickly dumped I the trash or, in the wife’s flower pots (as long as she’s OK with that 😉😉). A quick rinse and a quick wipe with a damp cloth and your back in business. Don’t pay any attention to the whiners. You’ll spend more time walking to the kitchen than you will cleaning this machine. Cleanup is just a part of life. Get over it.To offer a bit of advice. Swallow your pride and READ THE MANUAL!!!! This is specifically directed at those guys, like me, that think “I’ll just figure it out. It can’t be that hard. After all it’s only a coffee maker”. Again I say READ THE MANUAL!!! Wives, show this to your husbands. READ THE MANUAL!!! This will save you more time than it actually takes to read the manual. It pains me deeply to have to tell you that. I promise I won’t tell anyone that you actually read the manual. Once you learn how the machine works and how to brew your favorite coffee, I promise you that you’ll be more than happy with this machine. Whether your heading out work or off to the kids soccer game. I know you’ll be happy with your perfectly brewed coffee on your travel mug helping to keep your sanity while dealing with all idiots on the road. So… in conclusion I would highly recommend this coffee maker. I truly enjoy ever morning knowing there a perfect cup waiting for me right when I need it.

Initially this machine worked really well. Once set up correctly, it make good cups of coffee and was pretty easy to clean. However, in the past week the insides seemed to become significantly messier (and wetter) after each brew, and required much more wiping down, and finally this morning, when asked to brew 16oz, it instead brewed 8oz and spilled what I presume to be the other 8oz of water out the bottom. A thorough cleaning of the insides didn’t help, as a test run afterwards did the same thing.I have filed a ticket with DeLonghi support about the problem. I will update the review and rating based on their response.

I am very happy with this coffee maker! So easy to use and makes hot, strong coffee! Anyone complaining about having to clean the machine with every use is a bit dramatic, in my opinion. Yes, I highly suggest emptying the water discharge tank and coffee grounds but how is this anymore work than any other coffee maker? It really is very simple to clean and make a fresh cup or carafe of coffee right away. Makes very strong coffee! Wow, the bold option can grow hair on your chest! My only downfall is I wish the coffee was hotter, but I am someone who likes their coffee lava hot because I add a lot of milk. If you drink your coffee black, it is just the prefect temp to drink it right away.

Our De’Longhi TrueBrew coffee maker replaces an old Mr. Coffee drip coffee maker and separate Capresso grinder. It was not that these were bad machines–they worked OK. However, my wife thought the coffee tasted dull. We were making a full pot each morning and I was constantly re-heating mine in the microwave throughout the day. Plus there was a basket to clean for each pot made and the brew wasn’t consistent because of the manual selector on the grinder. We wanted a machine that automated the grind and brew for single cup serving so each cup was fresh, hot and consistent. We also needed a machine that was short enough to fit under the cabinet on the kitchen counter. This ruled out the Breville immediately. We opted for the De’Longhi TrueBrew without the carafe. It fits the counter perfectly. My wife loves the taste of the coffee. We are getting much more flavour and character from the exact same beans as before. She also loves the “over ice” setting. I like the single cup brewing, ensuring each one is consistently dosed and hot. No more microwaving stale coffee. I also like that there are no filters to dump. Plus, at the 3 oz. setting, the De’Longhi TrueBrew makes a very good facsimile of espresso, including crema. I’m impressed! It says it is a “drip” coffee maker, however, it uses a “diffuser” component that seems to operate at a higher pressure than regular drip.We are very impressed and happy with the De’Longhi TrueBrew.CONS: The spent coffee grounds and overflow water are captured inside the machine and these do need to be dumped from time to time. However, this is needed more frequently than I had expected, almost daily it seems. Maybe it’s because we’re just drinking too much excellent coffee! 🙂 Luckily, the machine opens up very easily and the clean-up procedure is fairly quick and unmessy. The De’Longhi TrueBrew also makes an assortment of grunts and burps when brewing and when shutting down. These might seem too noisy to some folks. We think it’s charming.
