I was looking for a simple black floating shelf, and thought these would be fine, but the quality of the “wood” was very poor. I always use upgraded wall anchors from the hardware store rather than the ones that come with these sort of things… but when I was securing screws into the wall anchors I could hear the frail wood splitting through the pre-drilled holes. Nothing heavy is placed on top of them, so I’m hoping they will hold, but I’ll need to replace them at some point down the road. They’re inexpensive and they work in a pinch

These shelves are wonderful, except for the fact, I had to drill my own holes to fit books on them. Normal sized books did not fit. I saw a picture in the product description that showed it being used for books. Just hit a little snag. I drilled my own holes, and they came out looking great!

The shelves only come with mounting hardware for drywall, not studs which can affect how you place them. I ended up putting one side of each shelf on the studs and using longer screws. Even then, they seems a little wobbly. Would recommend drilling a 3’d mounting point in the middle, placing the middle point on the stud, and use better drywall anchors for a more secure mounting.
